  1.   Dammm... Operator error....   sorry... leroy
  2.   Mike... Wanted ta let ya know; i took your advice and dug out a ZT flipper (...ZT 350...)... That's the way ta do it (...for me, anyway...)...    Thanks again for re-reminding me that just because ya can do a "new thing"  it aint necessarily the best way ta do it...   leroy
  3. A Luger is a great thing.... The ultimate german (...and european...) military pistol...   leroy
  4. Great lookin knife...!!  I like the lines.... The workmanship is awesome...   Keep up the good work... leroy
  5. Thanks to all who have taken the time to give advice... I appreciate it... I think Bronc, Mike, and mike have given me my answer(s)... I've looked at the Benchmade axis stuff and I like it... Looks like the auto axis stuff is ambidextrous; but has two buttons... One a safety, and one a "trigger"... That would work; but i hate the extra safety...   The problem is that I really like the Protec stuff the best... One button; nothin else... Bronc gave me the answer i wuz thinkin about, along with mike... Learn to use it "wrong handed"... I probably need to play a bit with something a bit less expensive to see if i can do that; but i like the idea... That's how us "lefties" do most everything anyway...   The third solution is Mike's solution... Get a flipper of some kind (...which i really like...)... Like Mike (...and mike...); I'm a Kershaw junkie... My Kershaw and ZT flippers  work like a charm; and I already know how to work them... More than that; they are sharper than a razor...   kinda feel like Wembley the Fraggle (...remember watchin Fraggle Rock with the kids...?...)... He sat all the time and "wembled" back and forth tryin to make up his mind when there wuz a big decision to make... I really like the big Protec knives; i also like the ZT flippers...   Whadda think i should do..? Celebrate the auto knife thing and learn to do this stuff wrong-handed, or get out my big flipper...?   leroy
  6. Dear brother and sister opiners....   Since the TN legislators decided that us delightful rustics are responsible enough to carry a knife over 4 inches long and can also posess and operate an "automatic knife" for various purposes; i'm thinkin about celebrating this new-found "right" by roundin up me a big automatic knife...   The problem is that i'm left handed and it looks like most all plunge lock knives (....Protec, for example...) are a right handed proposition...   The question is; how to ya lefties in the crowd carry and operate your "right handed" knives...?  Please dont tell me to operate them "right handed"; ive already done that for my glock... I need to be able to do this one left handed....   Thanks a bunch... lefty leroy
  7. "The Blues Brothers" with "OH Brother" a close second....   leroy
  8. I like it...!!    leroy
  9. Welcome.... Come on down....   leroy
  10. ... Sorry to hear it... Sending up the prayers for all...   leroy
  11. The only way Hickenlooper can manage another term is that the "left coast" hippies outnumber the real people in colorado (...i know, its close...)... Even as silly as he is; he knows he needs all the help and good will he can get... He is tryin to buy some with the sheriff thing... I doubt he can do much good with them...   leroy
  12.   Bersa.... RE: The vertical drop holster for lefties... Go ahead and bit the bullet and buy a Bianchi X15... They are old, expensive, but reliable... I've got two or three in left hand... They also make a "big mans" strap if the one ya happen to find is a smaller one... The ones i've got are over 35 years old and still goin... There is one for an 8 inch "N" frame, a 5 inch 1911 and one more i cant think of now... Here's a link to a picture:    http://www.bianchi-intl.com/x15-shoulder-holster   leroy
  13.   Try 6.0 to 6.5 grains of unique and 240 to 250 grain hard cast bullets and see how they do...    leroy
  14. HvB... I think your little 5 shooter is a helluva idea... I need to find one myself... We are 44 special junkies as well... At last count, there were only 15... Seven double actions and 8 single actions... One of my favorites is a plowhandle vaquero sheriff...   Load ya up some 240 to 250 grain semi wadcutters over 7.5 unique or 7.0 grains of 231... They are both great loads for the 44 speical...   Enjoy.... leroy
  15. I think they said "...ya cant lie on a federal form..."... Read here for what you can do:   https://www.atf.gov/content/firearms-frequently-asked-questions-unlicensed-persons#gca-unlicensed-transfer   leroy
  16. Thanks for doing the review and posting the pictures... I've got this holster's "brother" without the push off feature... Its built by an east tennessee guy here:  http://www.lefthandholster.com/Home_Page.html   leroy
  17. All... Not to hijack mhl's thread; but i like the XD pistols too; and i really like the single stack XDs idea...   Havin said all that; ive got a gunsmith buddy that does a great job of slickin up the triggers on Glocks without replacing components ALA the Powder River Kit... My question is can ya slick up the triggers on these pistols without replacing a bunch of parts...?   I been thinkin about a XDs in 45ACP or 40S&W... Whadda ya'll think...?   leroy
  18. Interestin stuff... Thanks for posting it...   leroy
  19. mhl.... Have you checked with Farnsworth up at Vonore...?   leroy
  20.   Glenn.... If ya decide to buy another mower; either go see McGinley's on Alcoa Highway (...Cub Cadet...) or Deal's Small Engine in Clinton (...Hustler; my favorite zero turn mower....)   they are both princely folks; and they sell the "real article"...   The sad fact is that a  "real" John Deere, Cub, Kubota, Hustler; or any other model is gonna cost a pretty good chunk of money... I bought a 2185 Cub Cadet for $4100 in 1994 that mowed about an acre for 18 years... Our current mower is a Hustler Fastrak Zero Turn that mows the acre in about 1 hour... The cost: $2100; as it was a used mower... The Cadet was a great mower... The Hustler came to me "used"; it is a 2006 model and is simply the best mower ive ever seen...    PS-- I dont want to start a "brand war"; as they are all good mowers at an equal price point; but JD has been running a long time on a stupendous ad campaign and name recognition... I think they are too expensive for the quality and longevity received in service...    leroy
  21. I agree as to the "agenda" thing... Most all the syndicated news media are anti-gun; this bunch just did an interestin job of presenting it; so to speak... The "big hitter" to me was the 100% increase in handgun carry permits in Tennessee in 2013; many of which were women... As to the local Chattanooga thing; In spite of what is being said by the "political class" in the Mayor's and Chief of Police office; in inner city Chattanooga; there is an epidemic of gang activity, pillaging, robbing, and raping goin on in the usual places, and everybody that lives there knows it... As to the "more gun control agenda" thing; the great thing is that folks ain't buyin it here or anywhere else where "real people" live... VIS the 100% increase in Tennessee Carry Permits in 2013.... leroy
  22. Gone...    I like the Nate Squared (...N82...) holster... Link here: https://www.n82tactical.com/holster-options   I've got an "original" and it works like a charm... The deal is that they need a belt to pull them against the body a bit... It's very comfortable and doesn't cost an arm and a leg... I carry my Glock 33 and a Sig 238 in an "original"... It costs about $40....   I also really like the Hill People Kit Bag... It's a helluva idea... Tools hidden in plain sight...   leroy
  23. All....   I simply don't like the news coverage in the Knoxville area; so I regularly read the Chattanooga news via WDVF... They tend to simply report what happened in the state news section; which i like... I found this this mornin....   http://www.wdef.com/content/news/crime/story/Handgun-Carry-Permits-Double-in-2013/dvLLw2TIAEul1nz7IwB1AQ.cspx   The link says it all... Tennessee Handgun permits doubled in 2013...    A very interesting and informative factoid...   The "anti gun" rhetoric ain't workin....   Enjoy, leroy
  24. I keep a Manix (...saber ground, black g10...) in my pocket all the time... When i get tired of it; i get out the Military.... When i get tired of it; i get out my "lightweight" (....translucent blue...) manix flat grind...  I like 'em...       Every now and then a ZT 200 or a 560...   leroy (...no web host for pictures...)
  25. I like it....!!  I really like the maple scales... I got his brother (...bushcraft...) in a orange/black tiger stripe full flat grind; plus a bead blast bushbaby with OD micarta scales... I like 'em...   Enjoy it... leroy
