  1. We used to put a paint dot on the primers... Pretty big headache for AR shooters... I've got (...but have not tried...) this brass deflector http://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/range-gear/shell-catchers-deflectors/brass-deflector-prod18554.aspx I planned to use the deflector and a ground cloth... leroy
  2. The policia are goin to ultimately have to accept the fact that "Constitutional Rights" are rights that work everywhere...  What is being discussed now is exactly why im no fan of police forces and police chiefs... They answer to no one, and some of them have a strange view of who they are and who we are....   leroy...
  3. Chris... Congratulations on your new tool of destruction...It is very beautiful.... In the words of an ole buddy of mine..."...From now on; we'll (...your TGO family...) will call you "Bawana"..."...   bearer boy leroy...
  4. Didn't say that...You did... Your reading skills seem to be a bit weak... Re-read the post... Then we can discuss it... leroy Sent from my Venue 8 7840 using Tapatalk
  5. Prag... RE:  This...    The direction of my post is simple... The principles of gunfighting were known far before Miami...   America is the cradle of unbridled capitalism; and for the first time i can remember; people actually made money off this sad event... It spawned a frenzy of studies, training outlines, ammo development, and weapons development like we had not seen before... In short; it was a capitalist bonanza...Lots of people within the "training intelligentsia" and the "gun specifying" departments made lots of money off this sad event...   Many believe that anyone can be taught to apprehend, subdue, and even dispatch bad guys... This concept permeates the LE enterprize at all levels... I simply don't believe it; especially when the guys you are dealing with are the "real deal"... You can pass out guns, badges, and do training... You cannot measure the mettle, will, and determination of men or women and find out whether, in fact; they are the "real deal" too...   You and i simply disagree with the idea that the "never having fought in a gunfight" class training is valuable...   Opinions are multifaceted... Yours differs from mine... Now, hopefully, you understand...   leroy
  6. I'm a bit late to the party on this... More than that; i'm a bit dismissive... The fact is that more manure has been spread and more dollars passed out using this sad incident as the fodder over the last 30 years than any other such shoot out i can remember...   What needed to be known about gunfight and shootin back was well known far before this incident happened... There were plenty of old gun fights to study dating back before the turn of the twentieth century that outlined and quantified the human and equipment factors that make for a "successful" (..read that survivable and the "bad guys finished"...) fire fight engagement...   I am continually incredulous about this sort of thing; and the baloney and platitudinous pontifications that arise from these sad incidents by the "gunfight teaching class" who have never been in a gunfight... Lots of the "gun intelligencia" seems to think that everything began with them... Sorry, it didn't.... It began about the Civil War, and has continued to the present...   Today's present day gunmen are no more smart nor tough than yesterdays...They may be better armed...   If ya want ta know about gunfighting, as the great Jeff Cooper quipped;  ya have ta talk to and study those who have been successful in the business... I think he is exactly right...   Sadly, lots of 'em are dead now from old age... Thankfully, they didn't listen to the "gun intellegencia", the dammed gubmt bureaucrats (...non shootin FBI types, that is...), nor the political class who made money from giving lesser tools to those who need them most in order to make a buck for them and their buddies...   Now that i've spent my fit for the day, i think i'll take a nap...   Shootin leroy, the non-believin gun baloney geezer....
  7. Who cares what this overpaid idiot thinks... He lives in a fantasy world anyway... This shootin thing down in New Orleans gave him a bit of a glimpse into the real world... The hell with him and people like him...   non-carin leroy...
  8. Tacops hit the nail on the head for us too... Only son shot for a while... It's great fun and great folks... I love the black powder and percussion stuff... That's where the real fun is... There aint nothin greater than a black powder blast from a 12 gage side by... It's geat... Highly recommended... Go see for yourself...   "Black Powder" leroy
  9. It's a sad day... A great country music man has headed over the "Sunset Hill"... He was a favorite for the last 40 or so years...   sad leroy....
  10. David has made an excellent point here... Cooper makes tires for lots of other entities... They make Dick Cepek and Mickey Thompson tires... Ive put a set of their house brand tires, Hercules Tires, on the son's FJ Cruiser several thousand miles ago to replace another set of Cooper built tires... Both sets have been great... The first ran about 60K, the second set (...the Hercules set...) is smooth and quiet... Cooper makes some good tires... Some of 'em dont break the bank...   leroy
  11.   Gomer... How did these guys wear...?  Did they stay good n smooth and quiet as they wore...?   My nephew is at Nitto fan, but he hasn't run 'em far enough to have a "real" opinion on 'em... I like their looks too...   leroy
  12.   Our man Prag has hit the nail on the head here, and has went to the jugular vein of the problem... This has been goin on for a long time... There is, in fact, a leftist education intelligentsia; it is, in fact; workin to see that the population is indoctrinated and not educated... It started with a fellow named John Dewey.... "The father of modern education"...   Well done my man...! leroy
  13. Fitty... This ain't aimed at you or is it intended to be a criticism of what i would term "instructional educational endeavors (...which i think your video is...)... Its an old geezer's rant about what I have observed in the current atmosphere in the discussion of issues on which there is a sharp disagreement or a revisionist position on ... The specific subject is the Civil War, it's rightness (..or wrongness...), the attendant symbols, the honor of the participants... on and on... ya get the idea.... That bein said, here goes...   Divergent or sharply debated views and articulations of those views are a hallmark of the American experiment... This country is one of the few truly free nations on the face of the earth where you are able to discuss all views, good, bad, or indifferent; heinous or holy, profane or good, and do it without fear of ostracism, or interference from governments and special interest jhadists...    The leftist education intelligentsia, the "public discourse" intelligentsia, and the news media has so firmly planted the idea that somehow anything they (...not you...) deem to be "improper, racist, or whatever "thing dujour" they deem to be "bad"" must be prefixed with the phrase "...I'm not racist (...or whatever... fill in the blank...) but"....     This idea was conjured up by these sons and daughters of satan to put anyone who disagrees with them or does not follow their "dogma" on the defensive and to set him back on his (...or her...) heels before the discussion begins... It's "defacto" giving over your right to sensible, reasoned discussion, and sometimes your First Amendment rights to "robust discussion of issues in the public forum" to your adversaries... It's an attempt at self censorship; pure and simple...   The lamentable lack of knowledge of the principles on which this country was founded and the re-writing of history to suit the disgusting views of jhadists of all stripes; be they the black grievance cottage industry, the anti-american hippies, the socialist demagogues, or whatever other bunch of clowns or would be tyrants hoisting their views on whatever subject has brought us to this sad point...   I say, don't be intimidated into being put on the defensive to explain any view you may have... You are not obliged to do those things... If you are in the debate or discussion business, that's what it means... Reasoned discussion... The hearers are obligated to listen and consider your argument; then agree or disagree with it... It's called "robust debate"... It's a hallmark of a free society...   There are folks out there that want you to be a slave and bow down... They want to muzzle you an intimidate you into silence and/or inaction... The demagogues, would be tyrants, and speech and history revision jhadists among us are tryin, and in some cases, succeeding in making people voluntarily give up their right to voice their opinions in the Public Square... I think that's a disgrace, and i'll not let people do that to me.... Neither should you... All of us here are Americans... We should not be afraid of folks callin us names... What if you are a bigot...?  What are they gonna do about it...?  Not a dammed thing...    Remember the wise words of the great French thinker Voltaire..."... To find out who rules over you, simply see whom you are not allowed to criticize..."...There is no discussion off limits, and there is dammed sure no subject that needs a "preemptive apology" before the discussion begins... .. Your mileage may vary...   non apologizin leroy, the free speech geezer...
  14. Been usin Dick Cepek Fun Country II's on the Wrangler...... Plenty smooth... All that bein said; its hard to beat Michelins of any flavor... If ya want smooth and long lastin, look no farther than Michelin or Bridgestone...   leroy

  18. Dolomite spoke a great truth here... These are ancient monsters... The way to deal with ancient monsters is to decimate them... That's how the Romans did it... Sometimes terrible brutality is the answer... I think this is one of those times... US General William T Sherman said:   "...War is cruelty...There is no use trying to reform it... The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over..."...   leroy

Herco used to be used more than it is now.. A bit more velocity with heavier bullet weights...    Hope this helps... leroy
  24. Glad ta hear it... I hate condescension...real or non intended...    leroy
