I've seen 'em do that too Randall... They are interestin and curious little beasties... I like 'em... Cant hardly bring myself to shoot one anymore... Always busy.... leroy

I looked at the target... I say that's pretty good shootin at 100 yards... I never knew any squirrel hunter that bagged tree rodents at 100 yds in this part of the country... leroy

Raoul... As others have said, WW 213 is a very good powder... We have used it for years for 38 special, 357 mid range, 44 special, 44 mag mid range, 45 colt, and lots of other cartridges we shoot in our revolvers in the 800 to 900 fps range... (..which is most of em for us...)... I got turned on to 231 looking for a powder similar to unique; and 231 is pretty much it.. i wouldn't turn around for the difference between unique and 231... We use 'em both interchangeably (...with about 0.5 grain adjustment lower for 231.... Our 44 special load for unique is 7.5 grains... The 231 load would be 7.0...)... I'm a big fan of a heavy roll crimp on any revolver load... It will make all the powders burn clean... Hope this helps... leroy... PS... For 45ACP... Nothin beats Tigegroup...

Esko... Have ya tried shooting with both eyes open...? My "dominant eye" is pretty strong and i started usin both eyes on handgun shooting years ago... It helps alot... Good luck... leroy

ohell hit the nail on the head... Plenty of choices... For easy carry on your person; ya cant beat the flat form semiautos... i carry one all the time... For a "real gun", as my 27 year old says; ya cant beat a big frame revolver or a big glock (...20, 21...)... We got 'em all... I tend to carry the big glocks or a Ruger SA in 44 special or 45 colt if im out riding around and feel the need for a "real gun"... Remember.. The best reload is a second gun... leroy

More data: A simple Google search brought this data... 44 Special loads... Buffalo Bore.... 255 grain.... 566 ft-lb.... 1000 FPS Cor Bon... 200 grain.... 401 ft-lb.... 950 FPS Remington... 246 grain.... 310 ft-lb.... 755 FPS... This is the "original" 44 spl load from long ago... 40SW loads... Buffalo Bore 40+P.... 180grain.... 484 ft-lb... 1100 FPS... Cor Bon 40+P.... 165 grain.... 485 ft-lb... 1150 FPS... Speer 40 .... 180 grain... 361...950 FPS... This is the "original 40 SW load"... The truth of the matter is that the "original" 40SW (..invented in the 1980's...) load bests the old "original" 44SPL (...a black powder era load...) load by a few ft-lbs... 361 vs 310... That aint by much... The truth is that a 40 SW is a pretty good 38-40 load... The old 38-40 was 180 grains, 401 dia, and about 1000 fps... The 40+P load gets close to a "heavy" 44 special load in muzzle energy (...485 vs 566 ft-lb...) but looses out in the bullet weight dept (..165 vs 255...)... The original 40 gets bested pretty good by the "heavy" 44 special loads... I regularly shoot either 7.5 grains of Unique or 7.0 grains of WW 231 in my special with a 250 grain hard cast bullet... That's about 950 to 1000 fps out of a 4 inch revolver (...smith or ruger...)... That's in Buffalo Bore territory... A 40SW+P aint in the same league as a heavy loaded special as to bullet weight or muzzle energy... That bein said; the 40 SW is a good round...That's why it's used as a self defense round by so many police departments and agencies... I shoot a 40 and carry one from time to time... It aint a 44 special nor 45 colt for that matter when compared to the old revolver loads; except with the original loads for the 44 special which no one loads nor uses... It aint even close to the old 45 Colt load of 255 grain lead and 900 fps from the black powder days... Don't believe the fable that a short barrel semiauto can best a medium or big frame wheel gun in these calibers... They cant... We got 'em all (...semis and revolvers...) and shoot 'em all... leroy...

Remember... The quickest (...and best...) reload is a second pistola... Ya simply can't have too many handguns... The old confederate calvarymen carried as many pistolas as they could... You should too...! I say:.. "...Collect em all in multiples...!".... accumulatin leroy... the pistola curmudgeon...

All... Im gonna post this without comment; lest ye believe a fable about the stoutness of the great 10 mm (...and it is great, for an auto pistol...)... This is data from a simple Google search... Underwood 200G JHP 1250 fps 694 ft-lb energy Underwood 220 HC 1200 fps 703 ft-lb energy Buffalo Bore 41mag 230 jhp..... 1450 fps 1074 ft-lb energy Remington 210 soft pt................1300 fps 788 ft-lb energy... This is the low end... Underwood 210 JHP....................1560 fps 1135 ft-lb energy.... Pretty good here... The point of this is to illustrate that a 10 mm (...powerful as it is...) is a light loaded 41 mag... Remember, energy goes up as the square of velocity... All that bein said; the great 10 mm is more than adequate for most any varmint that walks on two or more legs up to a pretty good size... I like 'em... nerdy leroy the amateur student of handgun ballistics...

The truth of the matter is; as Mr Wizard the Lizard says: "... Lubricants is lubricants Cooter Boy...!" Brother Mike's comment about the windsomeness of the bottle has lots of truth rolled up in it... The rest of it is pretty much snake oil salesmanship, marketing hype, pride in ownership, and a good dose of personal preference... From humble to great; they all work very well... leroy... Disciple of "Mr Wizard the lizard"....https://www.google.com/search?q=mr+wizard+the+lizard&espv=2&biw=1014&bih=484&tbm=isch&imgil=eL7NvKgLTYRRjM%3A%3BapSv784-1tHclM%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fenchantedamerica.wordpress.com%252F2014%252F12%252F15%252Fmr-wizard-at-the-base-of-a-tree%252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=eL7NvKgLTYRRjM%3A%2CapSv784-1tHclM%2C_&usg=__L7j_sj6i1gQh5VkEr0rUs7QLKwY%3D&ved=0ahUKEwia-se12qPRAhWqy4MKHb5iDPEQyjcIOA&ei=WGhqWJruJKqXjwS-xbGIDw#imgrc=eL7NvKgLTYRRjM%3A

The model 30's are turnin into collector's pieces... That always raises the price... I can well remember when no one would buy one... Everybody wanted a 38 special... leroy

What Dolomite said here aint a bad solution for everything... I'd almost bet "injector cleaner" is a pretty good alcohol... Very excellent, indeed, and can be made by the half gallon... That's a bunch of gun oil by anyones standards... leroy
-
Mike... Make sure ya do a range report on the Model 30... I've been wanting one bad... We've got an old SW hand ejector 32 that was out of a dear friend's estate... It's in honored retirement now... By the way, Starline does 32 brass if ya can't find any... leroy....

The one on sale... Especially the moisture displacing ones.... Balistol for the black powder pistolas... frugal leroy...

Do ya shoot with both eyes open...? If not, try it... It may clean things up... leroy

I think nightrunner is exactly right... This one will be interestin to watch... As much as folks (...me included...) like colts (...single and double actions...), they are a "dated" design... The colt wheel guns died because of the hand fitting problem... Too labor intensive... They can CNC lots of stuff, but it takes time to develop... I'm watchin with interest... watchin leroy...

Another case of an "...im so right..." carpet bagger showin us all how smart she is... I predict this one will go nowhere; but it doesn't keep 'em from tryin... The hell with her... She knows nothin... leroy

I carry a concealed firearm wherever i go... I don't go where reciprocity isn't honored... leroy

My response to this is simple... Why would you do business with folks that don't share your views or view you as a potential "troublemaker" AKA "...No firewater to the indians.."...? I vote with my dollars... There are plenty of beaneries that do want your business... Gubt is another thing altogether... They have a monopoly... I exclude them from my vote as much as possible by doin business by drivin thru the postal drop and ordering my tags on line... Your mileage may very... boycottin leroy the armed protestor and geezer boycotter...

I can see a "used and lovingly cared for" Ruger Blackhawk... 4 5/8 barrel.... 357, 41 mag, 45 colt sittin handily in the front seat... Nothin more useful nor greater... leroy....

I'd say the stock spring would be ok... If ya are real interested, take a look here... http://www.glocktalk.com/forum/10mm-reloading-forum.67/ There are some pretty knowledgeable and hard core shooters postin here... They like the aftermarket barrels and xtra power springs... Hope this helps a bit... leroy

If ya want a Glock 20, get one and shoot Underwood Ammo in it for full 10 mm ballistics... If ya want a large, comfortable to shoot pistola for plinkin and reasonable self defense; buy an aftermarked 40 S&W barrel (...mine is a $105 Lone Wolf...)... I guarantee ya will shoot lots more 40 SW in your pistola after the "new novelty" wears off than the 10 MM stuff... By the way, the 10 MM aint a "rimless 41 mag"... It might be a pretty good "rimless 357 mag"... The 10 MM brings the first reasonable attempt to get "magnum performance" out of a large size autoloader with plenty of capacity... If ya are into capacity, 15 rounds of 10 MM is hard to beat... If ya are into powerful ballistics, ya simply cant beat the big revolvers of any flavor, from 41 Mag up to whatever... What ya sacrifice with them is capacity... That's the story as i see it... By the way, lest ye "fan boys and girls" think i'm besmirtchin the greatness of the 10 MM; i aint... I own two of 'em... I keep a 40 SW barrel in one and 10MM in the other... I've also got some real big pistolas in the safe as well and i handload for all of em... 10 MM leroy....
