Am waffling back n forth on red dot vs irons on a 300BO ... I tend to like the irons... 100% reliable, rugged, n my overall familiarity. Any observations/ recommendations as to type n brands would be appreciated... These sights are for possible " real " use, much like the old time lever guns were with the man hunters. I find myself toting my 938 plus 1 mag on me, plus a 1911 in my tote bag in the truck, maybe even a big 15 rounder glock; but i tend ta like the 1911 trigger. I aint sure its not time to add a riot gun or an AR for " bushwhack protection "... Im thinkin churches need ta move up to an AR of some flavor near at hand n out of sight. I used ta love ta fly fish... It's the only " real " fishing i think... I'm too old n wore down to do it now, but i would offer ya the same advice an old fishing buddy offered me 50 or so years ago: 1... Dont worry about how far to cast, just get the line out there. Ya will finally learn how to do it by practicing. Just get the bait out there. 2... If you can look into a pool and see a fish, he can look up abd see you. They are wily, so you need to " hide" from them as much as ya can... 3... Your bait needs to look natural and like its not attached to anything. Cast it and leave it alone. The big ones are smart, they know the difference. 4... This one is completely illegal lotsa places... Use live bait if ya can...HEHEHE... The lesson is that whatever fly ya use needs to look and act " real "... 5... To practice, there is nothin greater than catching bluegill on your fly fishing rig..! Its fantastic, and teaches ta lots about fly technique. 6... Pay attention to where ya wade n walk. Poison snakes like the water too. Have fun..! The lollipop system goes against my 60 year shooting experience of regular sights. I'm growing to dislike the accumulation of all these birthday candles and have to wear bi-focal's to see halfway decent..." I had some of the same problem... I found the " trick " wuz to draw the center of the bead down into the " vee " for a" fine bead " as the old timers would say... I found it worked like a charm. leroy

Bingo..! Ammo on high side of diameter tolerance... Tight chamber on low side... Usin the chamber for a " go- no go " gage will sort out the ammo problem im thinkin. Good luck. leroy
