Patton:________________ How did the 357 sig do on expansion? Did the bullets shed their jackets in the phonebook? RE: You might want to take a look and see if the 9mm rounds are dropping by the chamber mouth on your 9mm barrel and causing headspace problems. Ive seen that before on the old colt 38 supers (...they originally had headspace problems...). They would sometimes shoot exactly as you have described. Kind regards, Leroy

Border Security at last!! This is great stuff!
leroy replied to leroy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My opinion on socialists is simple. I don’t like them; and I don’t like their politics. By the way; by making this pronouncement; I am exercising my right (...thru the benevolence of TGO...) to free political speech. Socialists are a menace to liberty and are the exact anthesis of principles this country was founded on. Socialism has never worked in any country where it has been tried. We have tried it incrementally in this country since the New Deal. It aint working here either. The terms "socialist" and "communist" can be used interchangeably. In my mind, we are making a "distinction without a difference". Socialism and its brother communism ultimately ban the private ownership of property, the means of production, and everything else that is heinous in the view of the majority of Americans. It postulates, in effect, that the State is god (...or, God ---depending on your worldview...); and as such, owns everything. It proposes to "take from each according to his abilities; and give to each according to his needs". The fact is that it takes from producers and gives to non-producers thru the power of the state; using the bayonet if necessary. The idea that it is benevolent and fair is absurd. The reason socialism has been successful in this country is twofold: First, it is not called socialism in this country (...it goes by several interesting names: compassionate conservatism, welfare, managing of resources, graduated income tax, social security--- you get the picture...). The second is that this country since WW1 has been the richest and most prosperous country on the face of the earth. That allowed socialism to be talked about by the non-working trash class, the foolish pseudo-intellectuals, and the "avant-garde" academic class ensconced in many Ivy League universities. They didn’t call it socialism, even then, they called it a ..."managed economy” and "progressivism"...". It almost died out due to the prosperity in this country; but a weak RINO Republican presidential candidate, lies spoke by the Demorats (...the old 'Hope and Change baloney...); along with general dissatisfaction with the Republican Party all came together to elect the most radical socialist bunch of trash this country has ever seen. Socialism always devolves into communism. Don’t be worried about the socialists and communists taking over here (...the socialists already have---for the time being...). Luckily, we still have the vote (...for the time being, anyway...) and this bunch of socialist trash will most likely be thrown out. By the way, AR hit it out of the park right here: Hows that? Dear Mr strelcevina:_______________ I am going to make the assumption that you are a genuine émigré and not a socialist troll (…or mole, as it were…) who has infiltrated our little band. I gather from your post that you may be a recent émigré and may not be familiar with our culture, history, and world view. With that thought in mind, I would like to take the time to point out a few things that you need to consider. Here they are: First of all, the border issue has nothing to do with immigration. It has everything to do with political pandering by politicians of all political stripes in this country; and it has been going on for years. The absolute refusal of those in government at this juncture in history to enforce border sovereignty is an affront to this country and all its citizenry. It has nothing to do with Neo-Nazi-ism or any of that other malarkey. It has everything to do with political pandering, vote buying, greed, and influence peddling; and the people of this country well know that. In my view, the people responsible for thwarting the enforcement of border security are the real traitors in this story. Secondly, you may have not learned this truth as yet; but freedom of political expression is guaranteed in this country. That means that you can associate with anyone you wish to associate with, adhere to any political view you choose (…no matter how heinous…), and engage in free political speech (…no matter how grievous and terrible to some hearers…). This is the only nation on the face of the earth where that happens. All these freedoms are guaranteed in the Constitution and outlined in the Bill of Rights. That means that folks like Neo-Nazis or trash like the Southern Poverty Law Center (…which is neither southern nor a bastion of law in this country…) can say whatever they choose to say. The Neo-Nazis espouse racial superiority --- that’s free political speech. The Southern Poverty Law Center tries to intimidate and keep tabs on political groups they don’t like (…which is most everybody that’s not communist…)--- again; free political speech--- all the while purporting to be doing good things – what hypocrisy. It also means that the “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright can stand in the pulpit of a black Chicago church for decades and preach the socialist gospel of hate masquerading as a man of God, preaching socialism to the flock, demonizing this country, and spreading hatred for white folks; then retire to a Ten Million dollar villa in Chicago while admonishing his flock to eschew materialism and “keep the faith”--- again, incredible hypocrisy!. It means that the “La Raza” latino community can stand on the streets of Kalefornia and campaign for the militant latino community to take over Kalefornia first (…as far as I’m concerned, they can have it…) then the rest of this country. Again, all because we have freedom of political speech in this country. Now to the issue of ‘Neo-Nazism”. The fact of the matter is that everything that the Nazis believed is not bad. They were fiercely nationalistic (…they loved their country—a valuable commodity today, in my opinion…). They hated socialism in all its forms (…another great trait in my view…). And they were willing to put their beliefs into action (…again, a valuable trait for any people group…). It is my personal belief that if they hadn’t been lead by a madman and had have left the Jews and other people groups alone; it would have been a hard sell, indeed, to get the US involved in WW2. The fact is that prior to WW2 (…and well into it in some places…) there was a very powerful group of US Congressmen (…along with a large constituency of US citizens…) who were sympathetic to the German fight against socialism and who also thought that the German Nation as a whole had been terribly treated as the result of the Versailles Treaty at the end of WW1. In fact, the great French General, Marshall Foch predicted that the unreasonable terms of the Versailles Treaty would produce another German-European war within 20 years. He missed his prediction by 6 months. Additionally, there are those who believe that the Great Depression (…by the way, a world depression—not just a US Depression…) was caused by these unreasonable terms. There are those who believe (…correctly, in my view…) that the US president Woodrow Wilson sold the Germans out in order to get his great pet, the League of Nations (…today’s UN…). There was (…and still is…) a large German-American population in this country. They were once émigré’s too. The history revisionists have painted all Germans as Nazis and, sadly, lots of people have believed the lie. That is no more the truth than saying that all blacks are lazy and on the dole and that all Latinos are illegals. Now to the issue of “all immigrants making things better”… The fact is that in many (…not all…) cases that émigrés strive to make things better. We can point to notable successes in this area. There are, however, some notable failures (…some of them subversive, in my estimation…). Eastern European émigrés (…along with Bolshevik intellectuals ensconced in Ivy League universities of the northeast…) brought the concept of socialism to this country. Socialism is the very anthesis of principles that this country is founded on. Émigrés from the third and fourth great wave of immigration in this country helped to foment and participated in the majority of the labor disputes that rocked this country from the early nineteen hundreds thru the thirties when the great socialist Roosevelt tipped the scales for socialism by backing union demands for acceptance in the workplace. This battle is continuing to this day. There is a very powerful minority in this country today who are working mightily to turn this country from the very place that started out so great, into a socialist “worker's paradise” where no one works and a group of socialist elites controls everything --- healthcare, banking, the auto industry, on and on---you get the picture. That group is currently occupying the White House now. Now to the moral of this little epistle --- Don’t believe everything that some political demagogue tells you to believe just because it sounds good, fits your individual biases, or puts something in your pocket. Take a look at everything; even that that looks to be contrary to your sensibilities, examine the evidence, and then make your judgments. If you want to enjoy and practice the freedoms that have made this country the greatest place on the face of the earth, I believe that you had best take a good hard look at the battle that is going on now. You had better decide which side of this battle you are on; and start doing to ensure that the freedoms you enjoy now are preserved. Food for thought. Leroy -
In my experience there is no difference in primers for pistol loads other than hardness of the primer cup material. There is published data and testimony out there in places like the benchrest shooting world who will tell you that differences in rifle primers causes variations in the performance of rifle loads. But it is important to rememver, these guys measure minute differences in groups. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy

I doubt it. He dont look like he has the nerve to talk straight to these boys. My bet is that his producer looked up any info remotely ---HEHEHE. These guys may have gotten their inspiration here: Feldgrau :: Reichswehr - The Armed Forces 1918-1935. Ya gotta admit though; no matter what their views and politics are, they have the right idea and plenty of nerve. That is a valuable commodity in todays feminized society. While others are talking and wringing their hands, these boys are keeping the peace (...at least where they are...). Keep up the good work! Kind regards, Leroy -
KB:________________ I understand. We use the rainier bullets with the 357 sig. Load them pretty hot. About 1275 fps out of the little glock (...chronographed thru a CRONY...). They work great; very accurate. I like the plated bullets. Matter of fact, we have 500 of the 200 grain 45ACPs and a pile of once fired brass in the loading room to load up for the 45's at the house. RE: The hot load warning from Berrys. My guess is that they are worried about copper flaking off when shooting 'hot loads" and lodging in the barrel (...which i believe is extremely far fetched...). Mr. Berry must have a lawyer brother or kid. Keep up the good work and let us know how the next batch of reloads turn out. Kind regards, Leroy

Plus 1 to what Froggy posted. Powder Valley is a great bunch to do business with. Just recieved a bunch of powder from them. Quick shipping and good prices. All that being said; Widener's is a good bunch too. They are one of the few wholesalers left who will let you order and pick up locally. Drop them an e-mail note for details. Kind regards, Leroy PS-- THANKS FOR POSTING THE WIDENERS NOTE!!

KB:_________________ Saw your post about the Berrys Plated Bullets. Dont worry too much about pressures; the plated bullets are alot more like lead (...only difference is the thin copper plating to prevent leading...) than the full metal jackets. They will not develop the pressures that jacketed bullets will. I use them all the time in our little 357 sig glock 33 (...they are great practice loads...). Here is some interesting reading from Rainier: Loading Data regarding the plated bullet load recipes. We use the Rainer stuff all the time (...get them from Midway...). They are just like the Berrys bullets. Kind regards, Leroy

KB:___________ The way that i set the crimp is to take a loaded round and put it in the press (...make sure your run the seating plug back a bit so that you dont push the bullet into the case too far as you do the crimp...), run the round all the way to the top of the press stroke, and screw the crimping die down until it just touches the top of the brass (...you can feel the ram trying to move down...). Lower the ram a bit and turn the crimping die down about 1/6 turn (...one flat...) at a time, run the ram and round to the top of its stroke; crimping the round a bit, and use your calipers to see how much crimp you get (...measure right at the top of the brass, just a hair from the end of the brass...). Keep turning the die down using the 1/6 turn at a time until you get about .002 crimp. Then lock the crimp die down and crimp the rest of the batch. That should work well for any of the straight walled auto cases like the 9 mm or the 45 acp. By the way; Glockster makes a great point here in regard to low pressure loads: This has been my exact experience too. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy

Patrick:_________ This is the grip that i use with my Glock 33: The old dtimers called it the "Teacup" grip. Grip the pistol firmly with the shooting hand, and steady the shooting hand with the other; reaching up from below. Get a firm, but not trembly grip on the shooting hand and concentrate on the front sight. All this being said; (...and as others have said...) the best way to improve shooting is do lots of shooting; practicing the fundamentals of good shooting. The best tool to practice with is a good rimfire 22 pistol or revolver. Shoot as much as you can with it. You will be amazed at what a bit of practice with a good 22 will do for your shooting. Hope this helps. Kind regards Leroy

KB:________________ I have seen a bit of the "unburned" powder thing with Unique over the years. It seems to run "hot and cold" (...no real pattern...). In my experience; it seems to show up more with lead bullets. I've seen it in 45 ACP and the big revolver cartridges (...44 special, 45 colt...). My guess is that it is related to both crimp (...always use a good taper crimp ...about .002...) and individual powder lot characteristics. It seems to me that the newer batches of Unique seem to be cleaner burning. I sometimes use WW231 for the quicker burning loads ---- 231 burns cleaner; and is pretty close to the "quickness" of Unique. All that being said; ive burned a 'ton' of Unique over the years (...there's a 4 lb caddy down in the loading room now...) in everything from 38 special thru 45 colt with good results. I regularly load 5.2 grains in 38 special, 7.5 grains in 44 specials, 8.0 grains in 44 mags, 8.5 grains in 45 colt; all with lead bullets. Always use a heavy roll crimp with revolver loads. All these loads are powerful and accurate. Unique is a great powder. Hope this helps a bit. Kind regards, Leroy

db:__________________ Had a similar problem with the 21 yr old's jeep (...his was a wreck---2000 wrangler...). As i remember, a jeep hood is two peice. The outer skin and an inner reinforcing liner. Fixing the hood "right" will probably require you to pull the hood off, dissassemble from the liner, repair the dent, reassemble to the liner, repaint, and reinstall on the jeep. It's almost impossible to find "junk" parts for a jeep --- too many jeep enthusiasts!! There is, however, a jeep junkyard up around Somerset, KY (...cant seem to remember the name--looked on the net, couldnt find it; but my buddy in the junk business complains about 'em all the time--they buy ever jeep wreck they can find...). For what it's worth; I could NEVER find any jeep body parts when i needed them!! I would look around and see if could find a body man that was low on work to see if he would "moonlite" this job. Wish you were closer; next door neighbor is a great body man; work is slow now. Good luck with your repair. Kind regards, Leroy

Article: Why is crime rising in so many American cities?
leroy replied to G27's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Amen to Straight Shooter's post above. The fact is that no one wants to talk about exactly what the problem is. It is the problem of being paid not to work---period!! I'm old enough to remember the beginnings of the War on Poverty started in the early sixties. All the "war" has done is to make working folks poorer and the folks who needed help the most more dependent. There will be no improvement in any of this until ALL people get the idea that all work is honorable; and that it is an insult to your brother and to God to "stay on the dole" for your entire life. Liberal politics and social engineers have created a social underclass that is poor, militant, and sadly; in many cases a danger to their own brothers and sisters. They have allowed the raising of several generations of fatherless children who have turned into monstrous thugs that are busy killing themselves and others with impunity. In the early sixties, President Kennedy commissioned a study of the deterioration of the black nuclear family in the US. At that time, the illigitimacy rate for blacks was approximately 27%. This number alarmed Kennedy and he was worried that it would spread into the white population and destroy the nuclear family in the US. His fears have come to pass, and it has spread into the general population. Black illigitimacy is aproximately 77%; while white illigitimacy is in the 27% range. This "underclass" has become a political constituency and a powerful force in the Demorat party. The fact is that the United States has become the greatest "welfare state" for folks below the poverty line that has ever been created. Folks need to wake up. While the "sons and daughters of the kingdom" are sitting on the dole and, for the most part, are putting up with thugs destroying their neighborhoods, while believing the lie that says that there are some jobs that are beneath their dignity and are not fitting for them to do; foreign born folks are busy comming to this country with nothing and becomming very affluent within one generation. Look around at the latino community all over this country, and the vietnamese shrimping community in Lousiania and you can see great examples of this truth. The fact is, that if the 'sons and daughters of the kingdom" do not wake up, they will fade into nothingness and others will take their place. Polititians of all political stripes had better wake up and realize that most folks are sick of the "welfare state" and "on the dole" philosophy that has permeated our society since the sixties. If they do not grasp this truth; I believe that they will be thrown out and others will take their place. America needs to return to the concept of being a place where folks do a "fair days work for a fair days pay"; not a "non-workers utopia". Food for thought. Leroy
