I found out today that Nashville armory has the 3"  XD mod 2 9MM in the rental fleet... so that will help.. but no 4"   they suggested I get the private training together with my wife... 2 hrs $165    1 hr.. classroom  and 1 hour on the range shooting the contenders that we might choose and based on feedback  instructor will suggest guns to try so we can pick the right one  ... so would just cost  $165 for the class and pay for Ammo   I figure I will lose that much $$$ or more in " trade- in" if we hate  the guns we buy without being sure   but still need carry class and all that expense , ammo,   and figure  in... range membership the cheapest way to go rather than pay each time

Thanks this is all great info !!   Today I shot the Glock 19  its bigger than a 3" XD  and I really liked it ( not a horrible recoil at all)   also shot the 3" M&P  (much more recoil)   Makes me think I need to forget the 3" XD and find a 4" XD to try.   I got lucky at the range as  they let me  shoot a sig too  (and didn't charge me but I liked this gun the least==== and it showed on the target)   Also a retired guy was there who is buddies with the employees,  and he taught me how to load and shoot and let me try his XD subcompact 40 ( seemed like more recoil than the M&P and felt too small in my hands)   Definitely need MRS. to shoot some rentals too...  but she just had a big surgery so it will be a few weeks.....  will see if she likes the smaller ruger or shield... but being told the RECOIL is HARSH on the tiny form factor guns... yes ??? no???   was hoping to make it  2 matching XD Mod 2's     at least want to keep it all 9MM   this is  a lot harder than I thought it would be

Hey new here....   After a  recent  death experience... I have caught the gun bug....  for me and Mrs....   want her to be able to protect herself if I were to die again and not be savable....   looking at 9mm CCW  the usual suspects,, glock, M&P, springfield....   just seems the Springfield is the one I keep coming back to based on all the  online reviews and vids and see women shooting them online too..   Just looking for  input...   I cannot find one to shoot pre--purchase... so will have to  base it on  the  non mod .2 rentals I could find   just a noob  looking for  opinions.....   we plan on taking CC PERMIT CLASS TOGETHER and probably the more advanced classes too as I want her to be  super confident in her gun abilities...   thanks in advance

Hey all,  Tom in Williamson county here   with the craziness in todays world..   and a near death experience       decided its time to get protection for both me and the Mrs. (Both NEWBIES)   researching..  pistols and carry classes and ammo.. ranges   and $$$$   so far thinking  Springfield XD   not sure on Mod.2, xds  ,Xd   probably need to head to armory and try them .... let her try them too
