I typically use Gun Kote baked, but I have a non-firearm project (flashlight) that cannot be baked.  I have some old Duracoat that was stored refrigerated that I want to use but my hardener has set up like a rock.  Is there anywhere in the Knoxville area I can get a 1 oz bottle?  I seriously need about 15 drops.   Thanks.  

Same here. Not just for this scenario, but the whole process. I started down the process a little over a year ago and ended up getting frustrated and abandoning the suppressor quest. The primary reason was finding an NFA dealer that I was comfortable with (like return calls, get pricing, etc). I ended up exploring pneumatic options - not regulated as firearm and much easier. There are a lot of neat toys in that category.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I have a scroll saw and a checkering tool. Even so, I put Grips4U on my 75 and 82 as they are great and the price is right. I'm not needing anything at the moment, but I thought you might have found another option for CZ grips in which I was unaware. I may be refinishing a friend's 82 soon and I'm always open for options.

No big deal, I was just asking since you indicated you were going to purchase finishing materials. I didn't realize that you were thinking about reworking finished grips.

Did you find some unfinished grips? If so, let us know, I might refinish one for a friend.

I remember that main spring strut was a pain. I think it should have been installed prior to the hammer and sear assembly as it was hard to position properly.

I guess three weeks turned into three hours! Great turnaround from Predator and congratulations on the quick reassembly - despite the missing spring. It looks great and I can't wait to see the final photos with grips!

Right. The grinder method to reduce the spring tension on the mag release worked great. That with some careful polishing makes it feel like a buttery smooth mechanism. I think the other area I focused on was the safety, which he provided great tips on smoothing. I did not know he had a DVD, I will look into it.

Actually, it is the one in the middle of the slide that is driven out from below, it was stubborn. As for reassembly, I used the first set of instructions I posted in the other thread exclusively except for lining up the sear spring/assembly. The second set of instructions (from the captain) have a better method for that part. Keep us posted on the reassembly once you get the parts back, it will be exciting to see the outcome!

Nice progress! I think the biggest pain for me was the extractor pin - it was seized. I think I went through two 1/16" punches on that one.

What finish are you applying (e.g. bluing, topcoat)?
