I agree they artists but they're knives are also very good to use. I find I appreciate them more when I have them in hand.

Drink driving, opioid overdoses, & bare hands have each killed more people in the last few minutes than everyone guns combined on TOG. Gun violence is a drop in the bucket compared to idiocy & addiction. I recently read that on a national level CCW holders commit fewer misdemeanors and felonys than Police officers. Most of us belong to one of the most honest demographics in the country.

An alternative might be to pm one of our resident TGO knife makers. I've had good luck with gran torino and sybo. I think either could make you whatever you want and the quality is fantastic!

When looking for an out the front (OTF) knife stay away from the cheap stuff. Junk is junk you get what you pay for. I've had good luck with microtek, Hogue, and benchmark. It's going to cost you 250-300 for a good one, but it will be a one time purchase. The carpet knife may be a good answer, also try a spyderco if possible. The large thumb hole is easier to grab as a two handed opener, and if you have the dexterity they are some of the easiest to open. Another option is a small fixed blade like a neck knife. The easiest knife to open is the one you don't have to...

Winchester 75 premature fire
Sidecarist replied to Choatecav's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have a similar 75 that was my dad's. The trigger in these is very simple, and has a sear engagement screw. These frequently get adjusted to the bare minimum engagement in an effort to lighten the trigger. This makes things touchy when closing the bolt. Target shooters will accept this to get a better trigger but muzzle discipline is critical. The fix should be obvious when you look at the trigger with the stock off. -
Merry Christmas to everyone on TGO. Our thoughts and prayers for everyone here. I am fortunate to be here with so many great friends.

Recoil spring is the first place to look. If you use a recoil spring buffer stop. They are ok in competition guns, but unnecessary in a defensive gun. A 1911 link style lockup is more sensitive to spring rate than the later browning systems used by most other pistols. Magazines and lubrication/cleaning also an edc gun can have all sorts of debris find their way in. Give it a good cleaning including the inside of the mags.

I just picked a 2.0 compact up. It comes with 4 back straps. You should be able to find one that fits for you. The smallest back strap is both thinner side to side and shorter front to back. This makes the grip thinner than the glock and doesnt have the square feel of the glock. I'm very happy with it after 200rnds ÷/-.

I have two P320C's. They both shoot very well and I'm happy with them, one is set up with the small frame and fully left handed for my wife. She no slouch with it, and we've discussed the voluntary recall and for now because of mixed reviews were going to wait. There is no rush considering were careful to not drop any gun. Maybe in the future..... For a index holster Cooks holsters in GA does nice work, I have two of them. Of course there are our own TOG leather workers that make really nice xtuff!

I don't know about the 3-gun match, but I did stop by the range they were still under construction and were friendly. I wasn't able to shoot any 5 stand because of range construction, but to be fair they weren't officially open yet. Take a look at the web site https://www.deadzeroshooting.com/. Wish I had more to offer but if they aren't far away go see them!

I have a S&W 610 and it's a wonderfully accurate revolver. With a wheel gun no worries about pushing the power to what 10mm should be...

Can local gov ban carry in parks?
Sidecarist replied to TheFeller's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
More importantly states rights was intended to restrict Federal government and make local/state government more directly responsible to the citizens. Over time the basic foundation of our founding, the principal of Natural Rights has been forgotten. Government has taken more and more responsibility & rights from our citizens and lazy people have let them.... -

I've got one of those too in the sand color and it's a great gun. My wife claimed it for bedside use. Has a truglo light/laser on it. I bought the Elite to get a better carry size for me, the better trigger was a bonus. -

Be glad that you have only one small dog... I regularly compete with two 75+ pound dogs. She shot the M&P the other day and didn't say anything so I'm all good. Ignorance is bliss sometimes. -

You won't regret it. I love my Canik SF Elite. I had a few failures to extract in the beginning but proper lubrication helped. I think the tungsten cerakote was a bit thick on mine. After 75-100 rounds it's been 100%. The trigger is fantastic! I picked up the M&P just because... You'll feel better soon. -
While I understand that a pistol CAN be dropped, I'm not sure I would want to PRACTICE it! Not with any pistol, Its a violation of the gun safety rule never point your gun at anything you aren't willing to destroy. Intentionally dropping the gun puts it intentionally out of your control.... No Thank You!

Frame plugs showed up from S&W in eight days. Thumb safety gone in 5 minutes. Easy to do and S&W provides the plugs at no cost USPS paid to my door. I've seen people selling them for $3-6 plus shipping. Added an O-light PL-MINI 400 lumens less than $90. -
Any of you using the Apex FSS and trigger on the M&P M2.0 ?
Sidecarist replied to TGO David's topic in Handguns
Not me but I will be following this topic. I will say that in the short time I've had my 2.0 compact I'm not inclined to change the trigger its just fine like it is. the only thing I have with a better trigger is my Canik TP9SF Elite and its not that big a difference. -
I've taken one class that Randy put on and will take more as work time allows. Get to one of his classes they are a great value.

Many others here have had very wise words for you. I agree with all of it and will add... The fact that you have made yourself a success regardless of your childhood relationships and experiences shows the strength and resilience of humankind. Grieving will come for you in time and in your own way. Have faith in yourself and the family that you have nurtured. If you have faith in god lean on that as well. I went through parts of this with my parents death, and am estranged from my only brother by his actions. I can not control others, I can act honorably in my life and do my best to do so. It sounds to me that you have acted honorably towards others, and for that you have my respect. To be honorable in the face of adversity is difficult but it is a noble goal. Your siblings like mine have the option of trying to reach out to you and be honorable about it. Their place in this world in not your fault and carry no guilt for it. I did not make my brother who he is, but if he approached me and had straightened his life up I would forgive him. I have not rejected him, but rather his path in life is destructive and I had to choose between traveling it with him, or choosing my own path. We are individuals and I chose not to follow him and I have a good life because of it. I have no guilt, and as long as he didn't threaten me or my family I could offer forgiveness. These are VERY personal decisions, only you can make them. My two cents is that you shouldn't carry guilt for doing right when others chose not to. Thanks for sharing your feelings here I hope it has helped you and it will likely help others that you may never know about. Do not despair but take joy in what you have accomplished in life and in your family that has not had to suffer what you did because of your hard work.

Hog rifle recommendations for old guy with aging eyes

If going the red dot route give one a try if possible first with your trifocals. I have a bit of a astigmatism and it makes the dot flare out and look weird with one pair of glasses. With a different pair it's not noticeable at all. I'm NOT discouraging you. I do think it's a great solution. Most gunsmith should be able to fabricate a mount that replaced6thd rear sight with no new holes. If th e dot looks good to you go for it! -
Keeping members in your thoughts this holiday season
Sidecarist replied to MacGyver's topic in General Chat
I will gladly keep everyone on TGO in my prayers. I only know a few members personally but everyone here has helped me keep my sanity lately, and that's saying something! This is a great community and I'm happy I can participate. -

Just had an online chat with S&W. They will send me the frame plugs to fill the holes left by the safety at no charge. Refreshingly good customer service.
