1. Funny, but TMI
2.   I saw and briefly handled a Rossi at the same time/store, appearance did nothing for me, seemed on the ugly side IMO, both were hanging on the same wall stacked so an easy comparison.  The SS fluted barrel on the CVA caught my eye as well.     Having inter-changeable barrels is nice but not a necessity.  Have not looked at the Savage but lots of comments about being very accurate guns which is something I want.
3. Searched but no results.   anyone have any 1st hand experience with the CVA Scout rifles?  I've read most of the owner reviews at the retailer sites, and most seem favorable with the occasional "I got a bad gun" comments , and some other forum comments where available. Most comments seem favorable as well.   Looking at something somewhat inexpensive, light and compact for groundhog fun if I can line up some land owners to let me hunt 'em on their property.  I've never shot a 5.5 -6.5# scout rifle, mostly heavier varmit rigs so I'm looking at the .223 or maybe the .243.  I found one in a store and liked how it felt, seem to handle well and could shoulder it very easy and quickly, the camo stock did not do much for me but the pictures of the black and SS I've seen online look pretty good imo.
4. Believe it's a first for me this morning with thunder and lightning on christmas morning.  Sure, lots of rainy christmas days in my past, but don't remember thunder and lightning in my 60 yrs.     Merry Christmas to all, and shoot straight.  LOL
5. Not one of the smarter things I've seen done.
6. Sounds more like sloppy management to me, doesn't take much to read the rules to operate a particular type of business, but implementing the procedures to follow the rules/laws/guidelines is very time consuming, as well as proving what you're doing is in compliance with the laws/rules/guidelines.
7. Definitely on a roll here.
8. Not to jack this thread, but where are some good sources for mags?  I've got a MK II 22 and need/want another mag or two.
9. If the bike is a "highly desirable collectors item" then it seems like it would make sense to return it to the original color.  Based on the other comments above, I would see if the original paint is still there, and in good shape, and go from there.  One comment indicates rattle can paint can be removed w/o damage.  Original everything really helps on the collectors value.   If you want the bike because it has good memories and not necessarily for the collectors value, paint the color you want.
10. nice work.
11.     But a couple of those "minor" repairs can add up to the vehicles total value in a hurry and then what do you do?  keep repairing it or call it quits????
12. Gator felt threatened, reacted, and paid the ultimate price for protecting his home.  The burglar probably had a long rap sheet (assumption), as he called his GF telling her what he was going to do.  He will not be missed but by a few people.

14. Some great pics posted. This is Roxy, our 2nd boxer, she's now 8 y/o
15. google says they are on FB, and the link showed a pic of a semi auto, with info about a grand opening , was dated Nov 2.  No other info except a LLC owns the company.
16. Grieving about previous pets is a rough road to travel and everyone travels this road at different speeds.  We got a boxer pup (Gracie) when we lived in FL, and she was that 1 in a million from my point of view.  Excellent dog, boxers are family oriented, very protective of the family unit but very social dogs as well, fairly easy to train/housebreak as well.  Love to play with children but very protective of them as well.  I had to put Gracie down after 9 yrs of life with her in '05, and I was not ready for another dog 2 yrs later.  Wife got me a 2nd boxer pup (Roxie) late '07 for anniversary gift without my knowledge or asking me if I wanted another dog.  I had some initial reservations about Roxie as I compared her to Gracie, but Roxie is that 2nd in a million dog.  Different personalities to some extent, but the same basic demeanor as well.  I love their facial expressions, they can wrinkle their forehead just like humans can.  there are lots of boxer rescue groups so the cost can be quite a bit less that route.  GL in your travels.
17. I've done some crazy/dumb things in the past, but just NO on this one.  No way.   I wonder how many critters were in that nest.
18. Luckily I've got some shows/movies on the DVR which helps, and I just made a pot of chili made with some deer meat.  Will be interesting to see how it turns out since I used my normal chili recipe and just swapped out deer meat for the ground HB.  I've got some other projects to do but just don't really feel like doing some of them, and others require better weather than rain and a soggy yard.
19. I have a buddy in Hendersonville who gave me a whole deer as his freezer is full from last year and this year as well.  He usually processes his own but since he has made the same offer of a free deer to several of his friends, he takes them to Flowers Deer Processing and then whoever can pick them up.  He was kind enough to drop off and pick up mine for me and I met him at the I40/109 exit to pick up the meat.  Cost is $80 for a standard processing, but can do whatever you want done per my buddy for an upcharge.  Just passing along another option for anyone wanting to take advantage of the OP's offer.  My buddy has a similar situation in that he hunts private land, so he hunts when he can.
