I would look in the cleveland area, exit 25/27 (Paul Huff Pky) has several motels, places to eat, and you're only 15 miles north of the exit you need.

Where I live, the weather changes every 5 minutes whether I like or not. LOL -
There is such a thing as a lucky dog outside of Nascar. Nice setup all the way around.

Yes, pics, love pics. Bet the cat stays away from you going forward. Reminds me of "hold my beer" stories. -
Gonna guess you could make ALL ranges outdoor ranges if you had the desire.

Very nice work. You just saved me some time surfing the web on how to's. I just got a Ruger American in 223 for a walking varmint rifle as well, and was sorta thinking of doing something to hide the ugly black stock. Again, very nice work.

According to the TWRA 2015-16 hunting and trapping guide (paper version P16-18) raccoons are furbearers, so it's legal to hunt them with shotgun, rimfire and centerfire, with certain restrictions on shot size and times on centerfires (daylight only). No FMJ either on centerfire. Unless I'm reading the regs wrong, which is possible.

Affordable scope for .22 bolt action?
jpx2rk replied to ReeferMac's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Anytime, let me know. You can take your rifle to GM and they will mount it and bore site it if you buy the scope there, should also be able to get any mounts & rings (if needed) there as well. Sounds like you already have the bases (but my terminology maybe incorrect as people call things differently). If the scope has rings included, then you'll need the correct bases that will attach to the tapped screw holes on the barrel, AND to the base of the scope rings. You only need a RIMFIRE scope & mounts/bases at this time due to plinker status. A larger objective is nice but not required either. -
Affordable scope for .22 bolt action?
jpx2rk replied to ReeferMac's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've got a Simmons on both my 22's, you're welcome to try both of those out, one is a fixed 4x, other is a variable 3-9 I think. Simmons is decent, nothing expensive. http://www.gandermountain.com/Shooting/Optics/Scopes#filters?do=json&i=1&nav=1&q1=513&q2=513A&q3=513A2&q4=Optics&q5=Shooting&q6=Simmons&x1=cat1&x2=cat2&x3=cat3&x4=t2&x5=t1&x6=brand&cat_depth=2&matched_cat=513A -

Several years ago when I was considering the various mortgage options available at the time, I discovered that one lender offering the bi-weekly payment schedule would hold the "half payment" (for lack of a better term) or 1st payment of the month in ESCROW until the full amount was available to be applied against the balance owed. This in essence did not reduce the principal balance every 15 days or 2x/month as the payment schedule would indicate. The lender just got the $$ early, invested it in some manner and got use of the money for FREE. Just verify how and when the bi-weekly payments are actually handled & applied at that lender.

I think it is in a persons best interest to have some type of debt at all times, like a small car loan or mortgage. Not anything that causes hardship in makin those payments tho. Having a current/active credit history is invaluable when things get ugly in the financial world, whether housing loans or car loans, etc., and they can get ugly quickly. If you don't need any $$ right now or in the near future, what about 3 yrs from now (can't tell can you) but if you don't owe anything now, you'll have "old" credit history and the lenders don't necessarily like that so they may not loan the $$ you need. Go borrow $5000 on a 90-180 day note, buy a CD with the proceeds, and when the note comes due, (the CD is tied to the loan maturity date), redeem the CD and pay it off. You'll owe a few more $$ in interest on the loan than you'll get from the CD, but the lender reports that you borrowed $5000 and paid back $5000 timely. And that is what you need. Credit cards, pay 'em off in full every month, take advantage of any cash back options available but 18+% on CC balances is a horrible option for buying something on time. If you have a large mortgage, pay extra on it to get the principal balance down (as much as you can w/o making life uncomfortable) until it gets down to a more reasonable amount (your opinion here) and then re-evaluate the situation. Maybe re-finance at a lower rate if possible due to good credit history and no closing costs opportunities being offered, etc. or just start making the required amounts per the original loan documents. Take advantage of any IRA options at work, and contribute enough to get the maximum matching contribution from the company. That's free $$, so if the company will match your contributions up to say 3%, your 3% + their 3% equals 6% savings. If you can afford to contribute more, that's great, but take advantage of the free $$ from the company. If you have $$ left over after all of this, you're doing great, enjoy life.

Contact some of the trust or investment advisor depts at the local banks. They should be able to provide you a list of estate planning attorneys they have dealt with and possibly point you to a good one for a reasonable fee. GL

Since gas prices are a lot lower than in recent history, it's a good time to bring it up again. Politics as usual.

I was thinking she might put too much of her "own spin" on it but it was a very good performance IMO. I'm not a fan of her, but she has a voice.

Any interest in a Centerfire Biathlon in Tennessee?
jpx2rk replied to Matt in TN's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Tip of the hat to anyone who even attempts one of these. How long of a "rest" period would you need to steady yourself to even shoot at targets, especially after 6k or so. I would need a "rest" period after 50yds. :biglol: This reminds me of one of those newer endurance races I've seen on TV a couple times. -
Pretty cool, guy was pretty smart to accomplish that.

I saw that thread as well yesterday. Cool item but looks pretty big.

I saw a news clip on the national news last night about this. Frustrating I'm sure.
