  1. Thanks for the info. Guess I will warm up my "google fu" and see what I can find. Thanks again.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions, will look for some different brands of ammo and try that. I was/am wanting to check the head space myself or by a GS rather than just having to send the rifle back to Savage without having a decent idea of what was wrong with it in the first place. Be a good learning experience for me anyways. Any special tools needed to strip the bolt down like you suggested?
  3. Somewhat surprised, but not really. Big banks like WF & BOA, etc., have monthy, quarterly, annual sales and growth quotas as part of their budgets. If dept's don't meet their portion of the goal(s), then they get poor annual evaluations, no raises, etc. Large banks also have incentive plans for employees so if they open up xx number of new credit card accts, they get a $xx bonus or something. Article references "robust internal controls", uh no.
  4. First trip to the range with the new gun, all factory ammo, no reloads and was getting some raised primers, and that was the suggestion to me from a forum dedicated to this caliber. Fiocchi 40 & 32 gr vmax ammo, the 40 gr had numerous raised primers and the 32 gr had some as well but not near the extent of the 40gr load. This the 40 gr, the round in the center is an unfired round Here are the 32gr rounds, the round on top so to speak is unfired Suggestions welcome.
  5. Anybody have a set of go/no go gauges I can borrow or use. I live in between Knoxville and Chattanooga, or know of a smith that has a set in the area that I can make a visit to??
  6. check for local tourneys, most are catch and release, but they might have some leftovers that might help. GL
  7. If you want to see what a 4x scope (22lr) or a 3x9 will do at various distances, let me know. I can meet you any time.
  8. I prefer the +P's in my 4" for practice and such, easier on this old fart.
  9. Credit card companies are making all their money/profits on those people who use their plastic way too much, buy too much because of the "I'll pay for it next month or over a couple months", and it never happens. That $50 purchase on the plastic turns out to be about a $75-100 purchase after adding the interest they paid, along with all the other $50 purchases they made on the plastic. CC companies also make $$ on those late charges, ever notice that your payment due date is probably due on a Saturday or Sunday now. Take a look at your statement. They don't process payments on weekends. I sold a car in June, and the guy said he would bring a cashiers check and I knew the bank he uses well, but requested cash instead as I did not know him other than meeting him when he test drove the car. He brought cash w/o issue. Met the guy at a local bank for safety reasons, did the deal, and we parted ways. Cash will never go away, some people don't believe in credit cards because they know they will get into financial trouble (debt) and can't pay for all of those "spur of the moment" purchases, or have already traveled down that road with a CC and are working their way out of it, or went thru bankruptcy because of a CC or multiple CC's, and can't get a CC now.
  10. I'm thinking there is a cute girl already in the picture (sights), and he's wanting to make a good impression BEFORE he does all the stupid stuff. LOL
  11. Care to expand on the "whole handgun" issue?? LOL Anyone who likes to tinker with stuff is gonna lose/misplace stuff, or have "leftovers". LOL
  12. Is this a nationwide deal or just local?
  13. Check out navionics.com for their phone app. I had it on an earlier phone and it would tell you the distance from A to B, speed, etc. Even has water depths, etc, creek channels, etc. Never used it on a river, but did use on some lakes in my kayak. The speed is not 100% accurate, but will give you an accurate estimate, etc.
  14. Cool info, thanks for posting.
  15. According to the TV news clip I saw last night, the private colleges can "opt out" of the bill, and most have or will. In addition, news clip stated must be 21 to carry, (no other details provided)and that will eliminate quite a few people/students from being able to legally carry.
  16. One of the stores I mentioned even had CCI shorts, $5.50/50 IIRC>
  17. I was in the Mt Juliet area last week, and the Academy sports and GM both had CCI 22 ammo in good supply, prices are what they are, doubt they will go back down much since we are willing to pay inflated prices for the same product to some extent.
  18. not fake injuries anymore are they. LOL
  19. I found a small Hustler brand boat trailer on CL last year to use under my Nucanoe Frontier 12, makes the trip much easier for this old fart. Just launch and load the Frontier like a boat, just smaller. I plan on removing the bunks on the trailer and making a flat floor on it out of 5/4 decking wide enough for the hull to sit on. Bunks work, but flat surface is just easier. Nice work on the HF trailer.

    Bikers

Congrats on the bike and lots of good tips have been provided. I'll add one: Don't bar hop with the group rides, or just have a cold water or sweet tea. You need your head on straight these days when riding on 2 wheels.
  21. Missed this thread the first round, yeah, you got too much time, but keeps you from stealing hubcaps I guess. JK. Some 50+ # fishing line would be lightweight and strong enough to reel in whatever you "hit" with the spear pistol. Guess you don't need the "can" on that rig anymore with the spear pistol attached. LOL..
  22. I'm on my wife's BCBS thru her work, and its' $400/mo just to add me on to her policy. There was an increase but her employer picked up the increase. She wants to retire in December, so I dont know what we'll do then. Go broke paying for horrible insurance coverage.
  23. Mods should sticky this so it won't get lost in the shuffle.. Good stuff.
  24. I tell my daughter "payback is h3ll" aint, referring to the last one. LOL. She just grins and mutters something about me being right for a change. LOL
  25. Post up some details on materials and plans if you don't mind.
