  1. Oak Ridge Sportsmens Assn (ORSA) is located in Oak Ridge TN. ORSAONLINE.ORG is the website so you can roam around there and see if it is of any interest to you. I'm a member there, lots of good people along with a few not so good people, but it's that way anywhere you go I would guess. There is another range north of Oak Ridge but cannot remember the name at this time, a more relaxed place from what I've heard. There is a public gun range on Rifle Range Road in N Knoxville IIRC as well, but have not been to either of the last two places. Another private gun range is located outside Athens TN, mid way between Knoxville and Chattanooga, off I-75S, exit 49. I have not been to the one near Athens either. Guess it will depend on what area you re-locate to, and go from there. GL
  2. Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing/posting.
  3. Sorry to hear about your pet, best wishes.
  4. I've heard/read that using the zerk & grease gun method to grease the bearings you should jack the trailer up and slowly spin the wheel while pumping grease in to avoid blowing the rear seal(s) out.
  5. She made just about anything look good.
  6. Drove right by there today but didn't stop. Wife was with me, so....
  7. Or used the vodka to celebrate their "grand" idea. Wonder how much testing was done prior to going to market??
  8. 2 out of production (late 80's) Anschutz's, 1 Anschutz MPR 64 & 36x scope, 2 slightly modified 10/22's
  9. Contact your local banks that have Trust Depts., they deal with estate planning lawyers on a regular basis. They should/could/would provide a list of the ones they deal with and hopefully point you in the right direction. You are correct that some are better than others.
  10. I don't look at the profile to answer a question. The OP can provide the info in his post if he wants help with a situation. True, if he gives 'em away now then he doesn't get to shoot 'em anymore.
  11. Did not see where his age was noted in the thread. Most individuals are not into "estate planning" at that age.
  12. One option would be to give the firearms in question to the beneficiaries now or sooner rather than later, such as before you pass away. If the bene's are underage, then give them to the legal guardians for the benefit of the minor. You could establish a revocable trust which is a different type of trust than that used for NFA items. Trust assets do not go thru probate (court and public filings, etc.), all assets of the trust are disposed of according to the instructions of the grantor (you) as stated in the trust document. You could also just state your wishes/desires in your will, or in a signed/dated/witnessed document that you want x,y & z to go to certain individuals.
  13. I had all 4 of mine removed right after I graduated high school, two at a time. Oral Surgeon indicated that the roots were wrapped around the jawbone on all 4 teeth and he had to dig/retrieve the tip(s) of the roots out of the pockets on only one or two roots. He got lucky or I did, not sure which. I was only numbed up, not put to sleep, and the only pain meds I got were a 6 pack of beer for each trip to the oral surgeon. That's what he recommended and I followed the doc's orders. I did take all of the medicine tho.
  14. The news clip stated over 90% of the shooters in these types of incidents were men, so a female shooter is unusual.
  15. CBS national news said the shooter was a female temporary employee, 3 or 4 dead counting the shooter, 3 in serious condition. She was "not known to the police" per the news. Motive unknown at this time.
  16. So sorry for your loss. I know the feeling well, today is the one year anniversary of my Roxy passing. Roxy was a daddy's girl, didn't like not being with me either. Time will heal, but it's still a rough road to travel. Best wishes.
  17. I used to use a 22 cal pellet rifle as a kid, would make them boys really jump at times.
  18. The world is a better place now.
  19. I've used Dawn and water mix with a long handled brush with some success. I've had best success with a pressure washer, but I have the beige/light tan trim & gutters. Spic and span stuff may work as well. Can also try some stuff from Dollar Tree called Totally Awesome". This stuff removed some sunbaked clear protective film & glue off of a new gas grill I bought at a salvage place with very little effort. Wife used it full strength and did not use any protective gloves, etc. with no ill effects on hands, etc. This stuff is popular with RV people for cleaning those black streaks off.
  20. Just a FYI, taking the low dose baby aspirin MAY cause ringing in the ears which is a very annoying side effect. Every medicine has it's side effects, you have to weigh the good and bad for yourself. GL
  21. I was out in Sturgis this past June, mainly just to say I've been there. Nothing going on except road construction. Stopped at the Buffalo Chip, it was closed but got the required pictures of the oversized V twin at the entrance, etc. Walking around the place, the majority of the place was/is a giant bar area. I have no problem with adult beverages and two wheeled vehicles, been there and done that in Daytona & Myrtle Beach. Sturgis may be tamer now than it was, can't say, but mixing a lot of one item with a little of another item usually does not come out very well. Just look at the police reports for "domestic disputes" and arguments between neighbors. Those two things just don't mix well.
  22. Just guessing, but probably not a good idea IMO.
  23. We used to feed our boxer canned peas (the smaller size ones) mixed in with her dry food, she loved 'em. It was so funny to watch her chase a pea or two around in her bowl trying to get that last morsel. Our boxer got a bit pudgy so the vet recommended cutting back on the dry food and mixing in the same amount of peas. She lost the weight she needed to and stayed lean but healthy. Yams or Sweet taters is another subsitute as well.
  24. RCBS makes a concentrate for brass and one for gun parts. Don't mix the two different solutions up on items being cleaned. Not used the one for gun parts, just the one for brass, and it works pretty good.
  25. If 223 is the caliber chosen, look more at the Ruger Predator model, the American has a pencil barrel and will heat up quickly, moving POI. The American model is good for 2-3 shot strings, then wait for it cool off even with low powder charges.
