I lost Roxy the boxer back in Sept '17, who was my shadow when I was home. If I was out doing yard work, she worried/aggravated the wife to no end running from the front door to the back door trying to find or see me. She would lay at the front door when open (storm door) waiting on me to finish washing the car, or doing whatever outside chore I had going on, or if I was gone fishing or to the gun range. She passed laying right in front of my easy chair, and I got to hold her when we took her to the vet to be cremated. We have her ashes/urn laying on her bed in our bedroom with a few of her favorite toys. I'm still not ready for another one. I think about another one, but still not ready.

It's been a while since the wife went fishing with me, but I would back the trailer in, wife would be in boat when I actually launched the boat and then she would crank it up and idle around while I parked the truck/trailer. She would idle back to the dock and pick me up. When loading up, I would back the truck/trailer down to the water, and then load the boat. She would pull the rig up to the top and park, she didn't have to back up or make any serious turns. It worked fairly well for us. YMMV It would be easier to teach her how to control /drive the boat, from starting the OB when launched to dropping you off at the dock and idling around while you get the truck/trailer for loading. It takes time but just have to avoid the weekend crowds so she won't freak out. Boats bounce off the docks pretty good, and usually just a minor scratch or scuff mark is the only damage. JMO .

Any particular reason as to "why" you want to go down this road???

It's a rough road to travel. Sorry for your loss.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery back to your normal life.

Never had a banana split blizzard but it's on the list. My favorites are the Oreo cookie, Heath bar and Butterfinger blizzards. That way I can enjoy them 2x's since they stick to my teeth for a good while. LOL.

DQ = BLIZZARDS mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

.22LR Optic Vortex Copperhead 4-12x44 vs Nikon Rimfire
jpx2rk replied to Henry347's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've got a Nikon I can make you deal on if you decide that's the one you want. I just took one off a 10/22 that does not serve my purpose (I shoot mainly from a bench) and going with a fine cross hair scope of some type. -
Mine is a single story but a steep 10/12 or 12/12 pitch. All the roofers were "beaching" about it. One thing to really discuss with whoever does it and the clean up afterwards. I had to purchase one of those magnetic yard sweepers due to me finding so many roofing nails around the entire perimeter of the house. I picked up close to a 2.5 gal bucket of roofing nails, and sent a text to the roofing company contact I had. He came by, then sent a crew by to pick up more, and sent me a check for $200 for my troubles/effort. I did "beach" quite a bit so.....

New roofs are always expensive. We had our 10 yr old roof replaced due to hail damage in '14 or '15, insurance paid for it all but the quote the insurance accepted was around $21,000. 2000 s/f house and a 480 s/f detached garage but hip roofs. The roofing company stripped the old shingles off, replaced one small piece of sheathing, and painted the roof vents along with new covers where the vents exited the roof line. Still have beat up gutters and metal skin doors from the hail storm tho. Insurance said it was cosmetic.

Stimulus checks................................
jpx2rk replied to xsubsailor's topic in General Chat
An the Dems are talking about another 2 TRILLION stimulus package, so crank up the printing presses at the Treasury. Talk about some tax increases in the future. -
It's been hit or miss on paper products, red meat is getting harder to find, I did score two big London Broils last trip, and since I cut them up in thirds (just the 2 of us here) we got 6 meals in the freezer, pork is scarce but no big surprise there. I was able to get a pork loin last week and we got 2 meals out of it, so that was good. Veggies are kinda hit or miss, just need to time it right at the store. Last time I was at wally world, they were stocking during the daytime, so some isles were blocked with new product but the employees were standing there talking, not stocking the shelves. LOL.. Luckily the liquor stores still have what I want or prefer, so all is good.

I use a cheapo badminton racket, keep one on the screened in porch and one out in the shed, I can see the deck from both. If I catch one solid, little bugger takes off like a tennis ball off a racket, or they get stuck inbetween the strings. LOL. I've gotten about a dozen so far this year. SIL uses a butterfly net to catch 'em and then steps on 'em. LOL

How to legally transport guns to a shooting range?
jpx2rk replied to CaliGirl's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I carry 2 or 3 to my gun range which is about an hours' drive away, I have the guns in padded zipper cases, ammo is in those plastic 50/100 rd boxes (I hand load), all in the back seat of the truck. Never had an issue but never been stopped by LEO either. I do go thru drive thru's for breakfast. No loaded guns, so if a LEO wants to see what I have, he's welcome to look. -
Proshot makes a nice/good 17 cal rod, and I've found their products at Rural King as well. If you are a user of bore guides, they are difficult to find for the .17's, you can try using a ink pen body for a bore guide, it may or may not work for your rifle but they will work on TC contender barrels. RVB Precision makes a pretty nice bore guide for the .17's if you want a real bore guide, google should turn the business up. A patch worm kit will work, but not sure if it will remove the copper you're gonna get.

Call Bowater pulp mill, they are just up the road from you and see if they'll buy your few trees.

Dear MSM, please let us hear what your experts have to say
jpx2rk replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
I watch Fox news as well, and have noticed for quite some time the hosts will cut the "experts" off about the time the expert is stating the answer I or everyone wants to hear. They try and cover as much news or opinions as they can, and it can be frustrating for sure. -
After We've Sheltered In Place. COVID-19. Coronavirus.
jpx2rk replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I've heard rumors of various issues with cell phone towers, wife had trouble making a phone call yesterday, and her eyephone was acting weird earlier today. -
Probably a dumb ?, but WHO has the license? The nurse or the hospital. The nurse is the one that spent hours and hours in school to learn/know almost as much, if not more than a doctor as that is their desire to do. How can a hospital yank a nurse's license. Bad referral for being a bad employee I see that, but what I read above seems a bit far fetched to me, but that's why I'm asking.

Heard on the news that some of the patients at the hospital ship had the C19 virus, so I hope they can control it so the whole ship can be utilized.
