Congrats on the find/purchase. I've had several Suzuki bikes in the Intruder models, still miss my '04 Intruder 1400. LOL. Dependable bikes, and should be a good beginners bike for him.

I've never had a "crotch rocket" as I call 'em, figured I would end up letting my "stupid" take over so I stayed away from them. I would think you son needs a smaller/light weight bike due to his overall size, a 500cc bike might be just the right size in terms of power/weight ratio, and taking the MSF course is a good thing. I took it years ago, and the basic skills I learned then saved my butt more than once.

Need to consider the size of your son as well, how tall and heavy is he?? Needs to fit his "size" so he can reach the ground, foot pegs, etc. My first bike was a Honda 750 Nighthawk, a good starter bike but had a bad handlebar wobble at 70mph. I've ridden mostly bigger cruiser bikes, had a Wing at one time, too big for for. The Suzuki Intruder line is comparable to the Yammer Vstars, so there is another option. I don't know if Honda has a touring bike smaller than the Wing, they used to have a ST1100, and may have a smaller version. GL

Something for your next trip to Smokey Mountain (SMGA)

Probably need a little thicker/wider rachet strap to hold that on there. Then there is the issue of ammo availability. -
Prayers for all of you, it's a rough time for sure.

I've used a RCBS 505 scale for several years now, but I bought a cheapo 10" tablet to use as a viewer to make it easier to see the pointer and zero, eliminates the eye strain and parallax issues once you get it all set up. I've not found a reason to upgrade my 505 but congrats on the new scale.

I have 2 for myself, and got one as a gift for a deer hunter I know. He won't use it for skinning, etc., says it too "pretty" to use. LOL. I'm not a knowledgeable person on knifes, but they are super nice to look at, and Don is a super nice guy on top of that.

I was at Sportsmans Warehouse in Chattanooga yesterday. No powder or primers on the shelves, limited selection of bullets. They did have several boxes (500 ct) of 9mm in the 115-125gr range. I don't reload for handguns, so don't quote me on the weights. One box limit, but if you're looking for something, Also had some 556 FMJ bullets as well. Prices ranged from $150-200 for the 500 ct boxes depending on contents.

I may have to order those bag of snakes, we've got birds issues here. Some dove's keep wanting to build nests on our downspouts under the house eaves, and or sit on the mailbox and crap all over the handle. Starlings and similar birds want to build nests on our front porch. One even died a quick death by flying into the storm door. I have put those plastic owls out on all sides of the house, but the owls performance seems very dependent on the exact location they are placed. I have put one rubber snake on the brick mailbox structure, it has helped. I placed that one on the back of the brick so as to no scare USPS people. LOL

I saw a bumper sticker yesterday: You can't fix stupid, but you can numb it up with a 2x4. Seems appropriate to some extent.

Congrats on getting it all to come together.

The heat deflectors are upside down, weber calls those bars "flavorizer bars", should be indentations on the shelf where they are currently sitting for the edges to be in to hold them in place and distribute the heat more evenly. I would fire it up and let it heat up for longer than 10min myself. If the bottom portion of the grill is caked up with grease from use, just remove the grates and bars, use a paint scraper to scrape all the gunk down into the grease drip hole. Then use some of the spray grill cleaner to remove most of the grease, and re-install everything. Fire it back up and cook off the cleaner if used.

Google the brand of the grill and you can probably get replacement parts online, or find a parts diagram which would indicate the drip pan and holder, etc. Maybe make one out of a coat hanger and the foil pans at wally world may work. GL

We have a rescue dog, it's a wild child/devil dog that is extremely spastic about almost everything named Maggie. Wife pays more attention to it than me, but that means I get away with a lot more stuff now. LOL

Well, at least everyone will not be beaching about the price of primers/powder/boolits for a week or two. 87 octane was $2,86/gal at wally world today for me. I was a bit surprised for a second that they had gas, but then I remembered it was walmart/murphy and they can get stuff when no one else can.

Seems to be mixed results (time frames) from past posts, but congrats on getting it all done in a timely manner LOL.

Another shooting at Austin East HS, makes the 3rd, maybe 4th shooting related to this particular school. One deceased, LEO treated at UTMC and is ok, no life threatening injuries to the LEO. ATF is involved somehow as well.

Is this a good "plug & play" kit to get, or are you talking about building a pi-hole. I like the idea of striking back at the internet world and their cookies. https://www.adafruit.com/product/4475?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0-Lv7fnd7wIV4w6tBh2bPwfeEAQYASABEgJQh_D_BwE Or could you provide a link or 2 about this that helps the non tech savy guys. LOL

The dealer where I got all of mine offers a "wallet size" version that is laminated, so I carry that in my wallet, but have never been asked to show it by anyone.

Bill's Outpost in Mrrrrrrville will do that as well.

my brother has two green eggs, the small one and next size up. His son and SIL have one or more green eggs as well. I have owned Weber gas grills for the last 30+ yrs, rebuilt a couple of them as the hood and bottom portion were still in great condition, so I got the rebuild parts from weber for each of them after 10 or so yrs of weekly use, or more. I currently have a Weber Genesis LXII that I found at a discount store in pieces (NIB but no box LOL) for $100, and a natural gas model as well. These retail for over $1000, so...only thing missing was the grates, I called Weber to order some, they said no, because it was new, they shipped the grates free. This grill is huge, way too big for just the wife and I, but for $100, I could not pass on it. I use it but don't like the XXXXL size, but it cooks great. I also have a Weber Q for the back porch, and it fits in the TT as well. LOL.

We had heavy rains at times, on and off, but nothing more. I was outside yesterday on the porch, and hear a roar off in the distance, no rain at the time, and then all of the surrounding trees (none in our yard) starting swaying to beat the band. Had some wind gusts for 5 minutes or so, and then back to normal. I've heard that roar before and it's never a good thing for sure. I saw the moon and lightning last night after dark, never seen that combo before. This morning the open fields surrounding our house have a couple new small ponds that show up when we get rains like this. Luckily those ponds are 50-75 yds from the house, and the sump pump is working just fine.

I find the Wrangler carpenter style shorts (& pants) very comfy, and wear well. I prefer my clothes on the loose side so I'm not all bound up when sitting, etc., or mowing the yard, yada yada yada.

Money can be a driving force for many people, or climbing the ladder. Where will the higher paying job lead you in the future? More responsibility, more $$ ?? More responsibility and $$ usually leads to more stress in your life whether you admit it or not. The union association can cause stress as well. If you are happy & content doing what you currently do, I would suggest you stay where you are. If your employer knows you can do a good job w/o supervision, they will remember that, up to a point. GL.
