    Flue Shot

First flu shot I got was in '73 or '74 while in college, got the worst case of flu ever. I know they have changed how the flu shot is made now, but I've never had any adverse reactions to just the flu shot after that first one. I did pass on the flu shot for several years tho. Last year I got the flu, shingles and pneumonia shots ALL at the same time. Can strongly recommend DO NOT DO THAT. Felt like crap for a long weekend.
  2. I can just see the younger generation (today's kids) swapping out batteries. There would be those electric scooters littering the highways & byways. Talk about saving the planet. LOL I'm sure everyone has seen those "people" that have no business doing anything like swapping out a battery, much less using a hammer or screwdriver. LOL
  3. Ask some GM VOLT owners how they feel about all electric cars. Earlier this year, GM advised Volt owners NOT to park their "car" inside, only outside and away from buildings/structures. Also, don't charge it up while unattended.
  4. Owned a Ford C Max hybrid for 18-24 months. Wife drove it as a DD when she worked ( 4 miles RT). She liked it for about 2 months, then got tired of all the dash/display info, etc., and did not like the 4 cylinder gas engine kicking on/off at times depending on the state of the battery charge. Bitched about it for the rest of the time we owned it. It got 35 mpg city, 40 mpg on the hwy, was fairly comfy. The car had a bad habit of going in to deep sleep mode or hibernation if you did not drive it almost daily (after she retired) . If not driven for a couple or three days, open the drivers door, and none of the dash lights would come on, etc. Totally dead. Had to have it boosted 2-3x's, and bought one of those portable battery packs that's capable of boosting cars/trucks, damn car never went into deep sleep mode after that. Never did trust the car after that, even tho the dealer put 2 new 12v batteries (the starting battery) due to testing bad. Some sort of electrical gremlin I guess. Wife would not drive another hybrid/electric car, I would not mind a hybrid for a grocery getter, etc., but not an all electric one. While I like Cracker Barrel, I don't want to eat there just to charge up the car on long trips. It will be decades before there are sufficient charging stations for "millions" of all electric cars to get anywhere on time. And where will all of this additional electricity required come from, TX almost froze up solid earlier this year, so.. I also wonder how the hybrid F150 or the all electric F150 will actually tow anything, it will just be an oversized family car like most trucks are now. Those batteries will take up payload capacity, so....
  5. I'll take this one. No PP. PM me your preferred method of payment and address, I'll get it in the mail. Jim
  6. If you want a semi auto (10/22) and do nothing much to it, find a 10/22 LVT model. See how it shoots before doing anything to it. Then if you want to improve it, send it to Joe Chacon for a "tune up", he will check it over from chamber to crown, do what is needed to accurize it, work the trigger group, bed the action to the stock, etc. Prices were reasonable for what he did to one of mine about 2 yrs ago. I was going to use it in ABRA factory class with the grandson but it never happened, so I sold it.
  7. Northern Tool/Harbor Freight did have some clamp on style magnifiers with lights. I use one in the reloading room at times when needed. These have a limited reach, so not sure what length one would need for projects like this. I'm sure amazon has various ones.
  8. I've done a couple 10/22 builds, but I used new 10/22 actions and used Feddersen barrels and Archangel stocks. Aftermarket triggers are available as well, so you can spend as much as you want if you desire. RFC has lots of builds over there.
  9. Since you're just getting "into" reloading, go by the load data in manual you are using, don't vary from it until you have some experience under your belt. Having several different reloading manuals is a good thing, some, if not most are available thru an app for your phone/tablet which is pretty handy at times, but the old school version book is good as well.
  10. Flowers used to, at least a couple years ago. A buddy of mine who lives in Nashville area shot a deer and did not need the meat, so he gave it to me. I just drove there to get it, but it was 2 yrs ago, so....
  11. I'm wondering why an "emotional support" animal should not be touched. Doesn't sound like much "support" to me, but I'm not a up to speed on these topics either.
  12. Both of us had the 2 shots in April, so by year end we will probably get the booster. Main reason I will is mom is 96, and wife has COPD. I'm not in the best, but certainly not the worst health as compared to others. I keep my distance from people I don't know where possible but usually don't wear a mask unless I have to. To each their own, do what you feel is right for you.
  13. Worked in the banking industry for close to 30 yrs, did most everything except make a loan. Got fed up with the BS in that field, and started working the hourly shift work. Retired around 2014 or so, like retirement much better.
  14. You stay pretty busy these days don't cha?????? LOL
  15. What does "bicurious" mean???
  16. Check out "Cornerstone" and see if any of the ingredients would work. It's a Roundup variant from the local Co-op. It's a bit cheaper than roundup label.
  17. Saw a post on another forum where CCI SRP & BR4's were available at Sinclair's, but high $$ as well. Did not even go look for the price as the OP said they price was "expensive". LOL
  18. Good to hear, thanks for the replies.
  19. Were the prices "reasonable"?? Post 'em if you can remember any. TIA
  20. One of the Knoxville TV stations had a clip of the "news" but quickly moved on to other issues at hand. LOL
  21. Prayers for you and your family. God speed for a quick recovery.
  22. You'll probably catch up on all the "things" you want /need to do around the house, but be careful, it can get expensive doing some of those "things" you have in the back of your head. Once all of those are done, you'll start finding other things to do, whether it's still mowing the yard, the leaves, new landscaping, etc. Remember, some can be $$$$$$. Eventually, you'll say to hell with it all, and just go to the gun range or for a bike ride. Everything you think of "to do", you can do it tomorrow, or the next. None of it is going anywhere until you do something about it. Enjoy
  23. I prefer the white background option with the tristar. The blue background would indicate a "blue" state to me, and don't need to give a bad impression like that .
  24. PSA: Best observe all speed limits in that part of the state.
  25. Prayers for your son and all in the family.
