Caught this one popping a jig with rattles in stained 54 degree water at Boone Lake. (river, creek,...heck, whatever ya want to call it now lol) Weighed a tad over 5lbs. I think we caught 12-13 fish all together with this one being the biggest. All the others were keepers just small. Best 5 fish weighed around 13-14lbs. We just caught one smallmouth the whole day tight lining. It was a great day on the water. Just a heads up... Boone Lake's water depth is SUPER LOW and usually crowded (only one ramp now in the Johnson City area you can use). I don't have a boat and usually get out on the water with my friends that own one. On that note if anybody has a boat and wants to fish Boone, South Holston, or Watauga Lake. Pm me and lets go! I'll pitch in on gas for the boat.

I took my buddy from Ohio shooting and off roading for the first time! He's around the age of 25 I'd say, and had never done anything like this before. We had a BLAST. Lol, he even called me back that next morning and said he had dreams at night about shooting! First, and most important, we went over the rules and safety of firearms. Then, I let him shoot my .22. rifle.(marlin model 60SB) He was very safe/comfortable with the .22, so, i put a round in my 9mm and let him fire a shot.(sigp239) He was like a kid in a candy store! We worked our way up to a full mag. My favorite part of the whole day was when he smiled and said, "I love the way it smells". I can't wait to take him and his girlfriend back. This was my first time teaching someone new. I didn't shoot much, but had just as much fun teaching him the basics.

Sounds real fun! I'm fishing a BFL on that date...maybe next time. I'm a new shooter. I was thinking it might be a good idea for me to shoot a couple of IDPA's before going into a low light environment.

The Lord works in mysterious ways doesn't He. I'm glad you already saw that guy and knew how he was acting- glad nobody was hurt. Thanks for the write up. Good stuff!

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I guess I should have been more specific: "vegetarian diets are broken into three or more groups include lacto-ovo vegetarians (whose diets include eating dairy products and eggs), lacto vegetarians (who eat dairy, but avoid eggs), and vegan vegetarians (those who avoid animal products altogether). Lol, Ive been gluten free for 3 months now as well. A gluten-free diet (GFD) is a diet that excludes gluten, a protein composite found in wheat, barley, rye, and all their species and hybrids." .....no beer or whisky but there are plenty of other alcoholic options, haha! I'm sure y'all are wondering what the crap I actually eat...in short, I eat plants. Yep, only plants. There's a vegan version of pretty much everything. Darn good stuff too -you don't even miss the animals or cholesterol, no kidding. I started eating a vegan diet for the health benefits. Now I see how it's even more than just eating "healthy" - it can actually make the world a better place for future generations - factory farms are terrible not just for the animals but for the people who work in them, live around them and even the atmosphere. I've eaten this way for almost three years now - I really can't believe it sometimes. I'm a country-boy at heart but one day I randomly watched Vegetated and Forks Over Knives on Netlix and I gave it a shot and man, I've never felt so good in my life.

What The Crap...are you kidding me? I'm just disgusted.

Looks like y'all had some fun! I saw a eagle last time i was up there. South Holston is an earth and rock dam too...I met a diver there once. He said they built them out of earth and rock to make the dam more resistant to bombings. Tight lines!!

My phone has all that kinda stuff turned off. No cable TV at our house. No TV's period. I believe they cause stress, and the less I have the better. We have Comcast Internet. I'm not happy with the service they provide. I hate to give Comcast my money every month, but my wife needs it for work. Our bill is around $65 a month. I'm glad nobody was harmed in all of this. Seems like it was a pretty big deal.

The Fenix PD 20 is part of my EDC. One of my fishing buddies gave it to me about a year ago. I can see out to 100 yards with it fairly decent. It's a nice light, and I'm happy with it, especially, since it was free. If I ever had to replace the Fenix I would want a smaller light. One thing I don't like about the the PD20 is having to manually twist the bulb end of the light, from low mode, into turbo mode. Then, having to click the button to activate the strobe light. I'd rather be able to "click" through low, turbo, and strobe. I like my gear to have more than one purpose. The constant SOS mode could save my life one day. -
Hey y'all. Just found this video, and thought I'd share it [url="https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PLVnXw5o3JJ_nbEjFieCityckCzKFEFoM7%C2%B6ms=OAFIAVgP&v=z5eGXWP5BiE&mode=NORMAL"

I'd pay the ticket and forget about going to court. Also, I would try to be more aware of the traffic signs while driving. LOL, I'm gonna have the song "I Fought The Law" by The Clash in my head all day now!

I'm from Erwin, but live in JC. I have some good friends that worked there going through a hard time right now. My father in law has worked for CSX for 51 years, and would still be! Sad day indeed. I hope Erwin pulls through this mess, and all the hard working men too. Thanks to Obama trying to wipe out coal! Makes me wonder what's next.
