  1. I've got several variations of the AR platform covered. The possibility I don't have and one that I'm considering is wood furniture, Just because I can and no other reason
  2. What is your intended purpose, CQB, Long range, mid-range, truck gun.......?
  3.   Thanks Crossfire.  I never new about that.
  4. And the Hollywood version....   https://youtu.be/4DzcOCyHDqc
  5. Have several of those, they fell off the truck too. I think if I search herd enough I can find some Korean war era still in package.
  6.    My father spent most of his military career working in supply. I can remember as a kid we always had a kitchen cabinet stocked with the OD Green C-Rations. You know the story, they fell off the truck and throwing them in the trash wasn't an option in the 60's. I don't ever recall a family road trip, fishing trip, camping trip, or picnic without some kind of C Ration being involved. I'm certain there was a C Ration worked into our regular Sunday evening dinner if mom had anything to do with it, and as I recall I enjoyed them. Now as for MRE's, unless it's a post apocolyptic necesity, no thank you.
  7. Goodman show January 2nd and 3rd, Nashville Fair Grounds. I have not been to a show there in years.
  8. If you think you want it and can afford it, buy it. I've never had buyers remorse after purchasing a firearm. Do I have firearms I've never shot because I didn't really need it, yes but no remorse. Edit: Added the afford part.
  9. If your going to dream 100 acres is not near enough my friend. 100 acres is only about .15 square miles and you would be hard pressed to get a 200 yard range on it. My ideal personally owned rifle range would be no less than 1000 yards. 640 acres is 1 square mile. If you had a home in the center that would give you one half mile from the boundaries is said property was truly square.
  10. That's going to be a long list. I personally know a lot of law enforcement and military that would be on such a list.
  11. Another API owner here. I'm 50 plus years old, 6 ft plus tall and weigh 250 plus a couple. I don't exercise like I used to but I can be get up and down tree with the best of them and sit in the thing all day and love it. I don't hunt nearly as much as I used to and the only time I use this one is an annual trip up to Wisconsin for archery season. Since it's used very little I'm not in the market for a new one but judging by interwebs searches and opinions here I'm quite sure Summit is where my money would be if purchased another.
  12. Tactical Solutions makes something exactly as you describe but of course they only deal with .22 caliber stuff. One design is a 12.25" barrel with a permantly attached shroud that extends measured barrel length to 16.5".
  13. That one ranks on my short list of all time favorites. Released July 4th, 1968.
  14.   How did this guy get to be a  CEO for Ruger and chosen spokesperson in a video for this new pistol with his lame two handed grip technique?
  15. I hereby resolve to make no resolutions.
  16. +1 in the Very Nice column. I really like the color too.
  17. You guys are good. With a little different search criteria I came up with several hits. Hard believe that in 1922 there was a dog tax license tag.
  18. Found this brass tag in a box of miscellaneous vintage ammunition boxes I've had stashed away for a while. I've searched the interwebz and have not found anything like it. I originally thought maybe a dog tag but can not find one with a slot cut like this one. Any ideas?
  19.   Out of Stock as of 4:52ish P.M.
  20. "We designed the cartridge for IMR tubular grain powder instead of Winchester’s Ball powder and contracted with Remington to make the ammo. We therefore developed the gun and gas system for the pressure curve of IMR powder and other characteristics of that ammo."   Then M16 ammunition loaded with ball powder was issued in Vietnam and the birth of the Matel Jam-O Matic machine gun.

  22. Being a middle Tennessee resident I'm know not familiar with your options in the east of Memphis area. Speaking as a former long term ADT customer, I will never recommend them to anyone.
  23. Harry W. Creighton, Master Gunsmith, Nashville TN area, active in the 60s and 70s. Built extremely accurate benchrest guns. I don't think Harry worked at the Donelson ACE Hardware but there was an older guy there that worked the gun counter and used to be at all the Nashville gun shows back in the 80's and early 90's. I acquired the rifle below at an estate sale in the mid to late 80's. It came up at the end of the auction and the auctioneer said it was a .25 caliber so I assumed it was a 25-06. The bidding started at $200.00, I ended up with it for not much more than that and had no intention of buying it. I had already bought several other items but now I had another. After I got it home I then found out what I had. It was a 98 Mauser action, Timney trigger, Sako barrel and a Herters stock. Barrel was stamped .225 Winchester. H. W. Creighton. I was at a Nashville gun show and the guy from Donelson Ace Hardware was there and I noticed he had several rifles that looked like the one I just purchased and upon further inspection they too were marked Harry Creighton. I inquired and I can't remember hardly anything he told me but it was highly detailed and went on for like 10-15 minutes. All I knew is I had a rifle built by an extremely talented and respected gunsmith. I added the Unertl scope because I figured a rifle like this deserved it. It's a tack driver to say the least.
