"Government lotteries of all kinds raked in a whopping $70 billon in revenue last year, according to the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries." Thanks kieefer, just what I was looking for. I'm certain our government spends this about as wisely as the average low income earner or government assistance dependent person that wakes up an instant millionaire would. ETA: I kant spel gud.

I'm not concerned with what the winner will receive after taxes. I like many of you will no have problem figuring out what to do with any lottery winnings whether it be a few hundred or millions. My question is how much is the IRS collecting annually from taxes on lottery winnings?
-
I just read something about the taxes due on the current Powerball lottery. It really depends on how you take the payout and what state you reside in before the tax liability and the net winnings are determined. What got me to wondering though is the Federal Gubmint is going to withhold 25% or more for sure. So out of $1.5 Billion they IRS will collect at roughly $375 Million on this one lottery. I guess through enough google searches I could get a rough guesstimate but are there any bean counters out there that could put it into perspective a little better. What percentage of tax revenue does the Federal Gubmint collect annually from all lottery payouts? I'm sure in the big picture it's a drop in the bucket but would be an interesting number to know.

AK 74 can handle 223 NATO ammo ?
MP5_Rizzo replied to bucnball's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Like TMF, I found out by accident. It started with some bulk .40 S&W ammo and a Glock 22. My 13 year old son was loading and shooting and I was at the bench next to him working on something. There was a shot that sounded like a squib load and the gun didn't cycle. I got involved and cleared the gun, the bullet cleared the barrel and the case in the picture below is all the proof I have of the fact it can happen. The remainder of the bulk ammo was check and no more 9mm was found. -

Thanks peejman, Now that you put it that way it makes perfect sense. -
Looks like we have a test subject on carrying past sign.

SHAZAM, ding, ding, ding, ding!!! The Prez wants common sense gun laws, make firearm education and safety mandatory in the school system. Firearm education at an early age does not produce criminals. It's been my experience that it produces responsible people that respect and handle firearms. -

It was all perfectly clear until I got to this part. -
Unless your planning to start reloading redonkulas (yeah I know it's not a word) volumes of ammo because you've got some super secret unlimited supply line for powder, stick with the 550b. Now if you just have the money and really need to spend it go for the Dillon 1050 http://www.dillonprecision.com/content/p/9/pid/23877/catid/1/Super_1050 Now if you want to take it to the next level of redonkulas get a AmmoBot http://www.ammobot.us/products/ammobot-mk1-auto-drive https://youtu.be/5Cjar2F_wNo

Looks and reads like a solar energy water heater, not sure after that. -
There are too many factors going on at 1000m to determine accuracy of the rifle. I'd be more interested in how it groups at 100 or 200m.[/quote] I agree since this is really just a sporting rifle.

I'm not impressed enough that I'm going to rush out and buy a new one but I may pick one up second hand if the price was right. Without getting into a lot of math I will try to explain why. No_One mentioned the 6.5 Creedmoor as being beastly, I agree this cartridge is an exceptional long range choice and i think it contributes to some of the outcome of this test. The 6.5 Creedmoor can replicate and even beat 300 Win. Mag. trajectory with a much less recoil and it will retain more velocity and energy at 1000 yards as well. Long range shooting is about consistently shooting sub MOA and peejman mentioned that no group size was given but we do know they were able to consistently hit a 3ft. X 3ft. target. 1 MOA at 1000 yards is a little less than 10 1/2 inches. So with a little mental math we can say they were maintaining roughly a little over 3 MOA. In the big picture that's not bad for a $500 gun chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with $400 plus in optics but not the be all to end all budget price rifle. Just my 2 cents and it's worth what you paid for it.

I don't think what you are trying to do will meet AOW by definition. If it was an original factory made in the configuration you are trying to achieve it could be a AOW. Any Other Weapons (AOWs)—this is a broad "catch-all" category used to regulate any number of firearms which the BATFE under the NFA enforces registration and taxation. Examples include, among others: 1) Smooth-bore pistols 2) Pen guns and cane guns 3) A firearm with combinations smooth bore and rifle barrels 12 inches or more but less than 18 inches in length from which only a single shot can be made from either barrel. 4) Disguised firearms 5) Firearms that can be fired from within a wallet holster or a briefcase 6) A short-barreled shotgun which came from the factory with a pistol grip is categorized as an AOW rather than a Short Barrel Shotgun (SBS), because the Gun Control Act describes a shotgun as “…designed or redesigned to be fired from the shoulder…” 7) Handguns with a forward vertical grip. Legal Cases Involving Firearm Category Classifications The AOW listing is one area of legal debate with respect to the addition of the foregrip to a handgun/pistol. BATFE has held that it is illegal to place an aftermarket foregrip on any pistol/handgun without first registering it as an AOW and paying the $200 "making tax" imposed by the National Firearms Act (NFA). BATFE has made the decision that a handgun (but not a machine gun, since a machine gun is not also legally an AOW) with more than one hand grip at an angle to the bore is an AOW. BATFE reasoning is based on the firearm: a) being concealable on the person, and b) not meeting the definition of a "pistol" in the regulations promulgated under the NFA (not the Gun Control Act of 1968 [GCA] where the definition in law resides for a handgun/pistol), as BATFE deems a pistol/handgun is a firearm with a single grip at an angle to the bore. However, two federal cases exist that counter this finding. At least one federal magistrate has decided that if the grip is added later, the gun is not "originally designed" to be fired by holding in more than one grip, and thus putting a second grip on a hangun/pistol does not make it an AOW. BATFE does not regard the this magistrate's decision as binding. The case is U.S. v. Davis, Crim No. 8:93-106 (D.S.C. 1993) (Report of Magistrate, June 21, 1993)[4] . The prosecution was dismissed at the request of the Government before any review of that determination by the trial judge.

You said you "didn't" find it on the table where you cleaned your guns. What other guns have you disassembled and where?

Exactly. Designer - John Galt / Who is John Galt, ever seen the bumper sticker? Frame - Stainless Megalunium / Does not exist but close to a Pokemon figure Cylinder - Osmium Plus / Osmium does exist but very brittle Rear Sight - Adjustable Slip Disk / Whatever? Ruger Executive - Benny Hill ....If I gotta tell you who Benny Hill is go ahead and get in line to buy one of these. And if you dig around on the net There's a Red Hawk Super Double Magnum coming, .22 Mag. / .44 Mag combo

Gotcha!

271 oz. I hope that's a typo and they left out a decimal point. I don't think a 17 lb. pistol is going to sell well.

I bet part of it is going to look like this and just this alone is SWEET!

What Garufa said and this. Determining whether you are “engaged in the business” of dealing in firearms requires looking at the specific facts and circumstances of your activities. "As a general rule, you will need a license if you repetitively buy and sell firearms with the principal motive of making a profit." Meaning is this your means of financial gain as a living. "In contrast, if you only make occasional sales of firearms from your personal collection, you do not need to be licensed." I know people are going to try and put specific quantities on this as to what occasional sales are but you know good and well if you are making occasional sales or selling guns to make the house note and buy groceries full time.

I'm not doubting the story but as a C&R license holder I thought I would look for one of these. I can't find it anywhere as a C&R item.

Celine Dion - Hello (Adele Cover) LIVE - New Year's
MP5_Rizzo replied to Ron_TN's topic in General Chat
Well if it's going to be a first lets make it a really good one. The thread needs a mention about religion, LGBT and whether or not .40 S&W is the best creation since sliced raisin bread. There, FIFY! As for Celine, she did better than I could and I think the audio quality was compromised by the recording device. May or may not have been but appears to be a cell phone video. Todays cell phones have better than average video ability (even though this was poor too) but some still lack in the audio department. I'm no expert just my experience. -
What Would You Put in Your AR?
