  1. 2 cases just yesterday at my local wally world. Probably shot 3000 of these in the past 3 months on the trap line and they smoke'm as good any trap load I've ever shot. as .
  2. Very interesting sport. With a 19 page rule book it's about as simple as a target competition game can be and still be challenging. I think I may have to give this a go someday.
  3. I think Ed Carter Is the TWRA Executive Director. I've meet Julie a couple of times and as far as I know she is currently an Ex- Officio of the Tenseness Wildlife Resource Foundation. Some of these people get a little scrappy when you associate them with the wrong Alphabet soup organization TWRA - Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, TWRF - Tennessee Wildlife Resource Foundation and the TWF -Tennessee Wildlife Federation.
  4. Do you equate panic buying with empty display counters at your LGS, along with sky high prices when product availability was limited? The back ground check transfer numbers have remained on the high end for several straight months now. Many firearms are being purchased but yet the shelves are still well stocked. The firearm market is saturated on both ends, supply and demand. Sure there are a few areas that can't meet demand, say like .22 rimfire, but it's available be it a little pricey compared to what many of us may have been used to. This is the new normal and yes there will be demand peaks as a result of current events and elections. Speaking of elections, we as a group must quit complaining about how poor our choices are and become proactive if we want to continue to exercise our 2nd amendment rights. What's the best way to do this, I don't have a crystal ball but we can at least vote for the best of the worst when it come to a politicians stance on the 2nd amendment.

    Go Vols!

    Oddball said it best!
  6. Yes they have moose, mostly northwest part. Another thing they have that most people are not aware of are pelicans.
  7. Something tells me the gun was probably stolen. If it were obtained legally this would have been front page news as to try to say current gun laws are not working. In addition they don't want to tarnish this marijuana smoking, convicted felon, illegally possessing a firearm, red blooded, boy scout of a citizen unjustly.
  8. That's just straight up gun porn..........and I like it!
  9. The blued one is an Arsenal Firearms pistol.
  10. Hey Omega, If I follow the diagram of the prusik climb, do I really have to smoke a cigarette while doing it?
  11. I just love to help other people spend their money. I say it's time to go exotic. It's not a wheel gun and it exceeds your barrel length maximum by 1 inch but you may be able to get into this cheaper than a Colt. Magnum Research .357 - 6" barrel available at Buds.
  12. A tin foil lined shoe, huh?
  13. Sorry no help on IR Laser recommendation but good luck on your Texas trip. I made two trips in one hog hunting in Texas, my first and last. The hunt was successful and eventful. Night hunting is the best no doubt but to really find the hogs you have to go where no human in their right mind would think of going. I think I pick briars and thorns out of my flesh for six months after that trip and not something I'm really up for again anytime soon.
  14. Marketing 101: People buy tangible goods or services based on their wants or emotions, and then they justify their purchase. Brownells is not making a false claim or implication. If or when Hillary is elected things could get uglier than they already are for those of us that exercise or second amendment rights. We the people in this community, are more in tune to all things firearm related and get emotional about our ability to buy firearms and related items in the future. We still have a free market in this country, so just like anything else if you disagree with Brownells methods I'm sure there are other sources for the same widget. Which brings me to the Marilyn Manson clip. Manson and Lady Gaga are nothing more entrepreneurs / artist that have capitalized on the shock rock. I think it started with Alice Cooper, he saw the business side of it and ran with it. Piss off or irritate the older crowd and parents, play to their emotions and the younger generation will love it and pay money for it. Just marketing!
  15. I watched the video one time. The officers requested Mr. Scott to drop the gun repeatedly but Mr. Scott did not for whatever reason. You think the outcome would be different had he dropped the gun as requested? Cases like these have something in common, more times than not the suspects do not comply. That's when unpleasant things start happening!
  16. I'm into my 3rd season of coaching in the Scholastic Action Shooting Program http://sssfonline.org/scholastic-pistol-program-spp/ . So here's my and that's about all it's worth because it's purely my opinion based on the past two years of dealing with rimfire guns used by our team. All but one of our team members compete in the rimfire discipline. The dominate rimfire pistols in order Ruger Mk II, Mk III, Buckmark (1 UDX and 1URX) M&P 22 and just recently a S&W Victory. I base this order on the fact that by SASP rule: 2. Due to the misfire/jamming issues generally associated with rimfire, a competitor will be allowed one (1) “Mulligan” per stage if the issue is related to ammo/gun failure. When using the “Mulligan”, the shooter will be allowed to reshoot the string in which the incident occurred. It will be the responsibility of the competitor or coach to request the “Mulligan”. We have experienced fewer reshoots with Ruger pistols. Myself and one other coach have become fairly proficient in reassembling Ruger Mk whatever pistols. Capbyrd has his opinion that a Ruger Mk (1-?) never needs to be disassembled, I say he's never shot one competitively. I think the Rugers have a marked advantage over the rest of the field due to ingenious self taught engineering skills of Bill Ruger and refined with the abundance of aftermarket parts in particular Volquartsen. I can hone and polish the internals of a stock Ruger trigger assembly to a noticeable improvement but they just don't compare to Volquartsen parts kits. There are now a few Volquartsen parts available for the Buckmark and the Victory but the Ruger Mk 2-3 trigger kits are the best. I personally think the Mk 2 is Superior to the Mk3 which may change once I get my hands on a Mk4 but don't count on it. The Buckmarks fair well but just don't have much in the way of upgrades or internal modifications as the Ruger. We just recently have had a S&W Victory in the club and I must say it's first couple of outings were less than impressive with several FTE and FTF's. I do think it has potential. The S&W Victory has taken some of the best of Ruger and Buckmark platforms and combined them but it's going to take some time to refine. Once again, just my , YMMV. Here's a video from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation about the Tennessee SASP. https://youtu.be/iJpiMKW2j6k
  17. Yeah I saw the entire cartridge, case and all, going down the barrel in the video. I have seen this in other animated videos showing the entire cartridge going down the barrel and just figure the video creators are ignorant to how these kinds of things work. The Portal 2 trailer is funny. 65% more bullet per bullet, Yeah!!!!
  18. So color me judgmental but this photo appears that Arcan has exercised his right to partake of the Washington state legal recreational marijuana.
  19. One of the videos that pop up after this plays is on the underwater supressor that they designed and built. Quite interesting as I often wondered about this problem when shooting a firearm underwater.
  20. Mk 3 do have a magazine disconnect but very easy to eliminate.
  21. Signs don't work! https://youtu.be/2BIeEHDymAQ
  22. As I get older, fish sticks are not the only thing smaller than they used to be........................................................and no I'm not talking about Slim Jims!
  23. Taking them apart was never a real problem. Putting them back together seemed to be the real challenge for some!
  24. Rugers website has a news release of a heavily redesigned Mark IV target pistol with a rear push button take down feature. http://www.ruger.com/news/2016-09-22.html .
