Yes, except that's different twice.   First, its integral.  Its not coming off.   Secondly, its 300blk only to my knowledge, which is much lower pressure and less likely to have the same issues.

I agree on the 300 Blk part.  I've seen some set up like this and were not integral.

I mean, you could do something awesome like an SBR with longer hand-guard that envelopes the suppressor. I mean, that's the right way to do it:)

Do not tuck a centerfire rifle can under a handguard.   At least not if you intend to keep your hands.

    You mean like this?

    It does to me.

By the looks of the holster it hit the slide slightly behind the ejection port where the brass/copper coloring is.  I'm guessing they recovered the slug a laid it where it's resting in the image on the right.  Other possibility is it deflected and has wedged slightly between the frame and slide.

I'm also guessing the officer was carrying a long gun thus the reason for his side arm being holstered.

The general public is against machine guns in civilian hands I'm guessing.

The general public's knowledge of machine guns is gained from what they've seen on TV or from Hollywood.  They've been conditioned to believe all machine guns run endlessly on a 30 round magazine. Same as the general populous knowledge of suppressor / silencers, they think all of them are quiet as James Bonds suppressed Walther.

  5. I like 1gewehr suggestion on a 6.5 Grendel.  I get the fact you want something nice to hand down but to be honest, some of the hand me downs in my possession now that I cherish most are not high end guns.  Some have been heavily used and have a lot of character.  I don't really think you can go wrong on this no matter what you decide.

Reading elsewhere I saw a statement that Tennessee has a special tax on ammo. Since we will soon be moving to Tennessee, should I be bringing a truckload of ammo with me?

If you bring a literal truck load it may be a wash once you calculate in the expense and trouble of hauling it here.  Unlike Illinois you do not have to be a resident or live in a state that borders it to purchase ammo.

  7. Below is from here: https://knifeup.com/illinois-knife-law/

    Illinois Knife Law

illinois-state-seal-150x150.jpgThis article will give you the basics of Illinois knife law in simple everyday language. It will also include excerpts from the law itself and case precedence so you will know exactly what the law means. The excerpts are truncated by me with […] whenever it goes off into something that is unrelated to knives.

What is Legal/Illegal to Own in Illinois

    • Balisong knives are legal.
    • Disguised knives like cane knives, belt knives, and lipstick knives are legal.
    • Throwing knives are legal.
    • Bowie knives and other large knives are legal.
    • Throwing stars are illegal.
    • Ballistic knives are illegal.
    • Switchblades and other automatic knives are illegal, UNLESS you carry a valid FOID card (Firearms Owners IDentification).

The state of Illinois only banned the possession of throwing stars, switchblades, ballistic knives, and knives that open with a press of the button.

    Limits on Carry

You can carry any knife as long as it is not one of the banned knives listed above and that you do not have the intent to harm someone or break the law. The law goes into more details on this…

  8. Here is what Genitron has to say about it and I have no clue as to their reliability.

The hi-cap Bersa Model 86 is similar to the Model 85 except that it sports black wrap-around grips and the standard version has a matte black finish rather than a blued finish
