  1.   You live in Kingston, too? I can meet you somewhere's near here! Knoxville's fine, too, I wouldn't mind some peach-salsa and those Quinoa chips they have at TJ's! LOL!   She's a little on the thin side, you can tell she hasn't eaten well. Guess 40-50 lbs., but a little under-weight.   - K
  2.   I can keep her until then (if Bersaguy doesn't want her?)   - K
  3.   Cookeville's only about an hour from me if you want to meet there?
  4. That's no trouble, I appreciate the help! So far she gets along fine w/ our dog and has been a fine house-guest. I'm in Kingston, that's a wee west of Knox, but could meet you somewhere's, perhaps at a gun store/range halfway?
  5.   Yeah, that's the plan if we can't get a home for her. She's real friendly, lay's her head on your lap to pet her...  Someone's got to want her. We'll throw something on the local Craigslist, too, but sometimes you get sketchy folks.   - K
  6. We found this surprise out on the front porch this morning making herself home. Her name is Daisy. We found the original owner, but he didn't want the dog - apparently she won't hunt. His plan was to take her home and shoot her! He got her and her brother last year, brother's a good coon dog, she's a bit of an escape artist, and doesn't like to hunt.... but she's very friendly, great around our kids/dog, unfortunately we can't keep her. About 1 year old, not fixed, eating well and seems fine (a little skinny). As is, but the price is right... She goes to the pound in a few days if we can't home her, but if you know anyone who might want her, pass it along. I'm West of Knoxville. Could deliver a short distance for a TGO'er. - K
  7. What Peejman said....   Take a look at Cushing, OK for US current inventory info:   http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=W_EPC0_SAX_YCUOK_MBBL&f=W   There is a TON of inventory floating around the world's oceans waiting for prices to improve. And the cost of operating one of those VLCC's is staggering - tells you what's at stake.   Prices will be going lower from here, mostly due to supply/demand - demand has cratered worldwide, and they keep pumping more b/c they need the cashflow to service debt. One day it will all go 'pop'.   - K
  8.   Ummm... As a recently former resident of Western NY, I regularly paid north of 4-bucks for regular unleaded (87 octane).   As of now (was JUST busting a buddies stones as I paid $1.42 to fill the wife's van @ the food city in Lenoir), folks in the country-parts of NY are paying 2.15+ per gal. NYC/Manhattan is probably double.   As to the question on the thread title... hang onto your hats, it's going lower. Not a good time to invest in oil (though there are some great ways to short it!)   - K
  9. A World Made by Hand, By Kuntzler   http://www.amazon.com/World-Made-James-Howard-Kunstler/dp/0802144012/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451252918&sr=8-1&keywords=a+world+made+by+hand   Very enjoyable read! Short, quick chapters. Found myself wishing for more at the end.   - K
  10. THanks for the info! I took the wifey to FF (just down the road for us), let her pick out her concealed purse there, but she liked the smaller cross-body one (not the larger model pictured). Gave it to her Friday. Yesterday she loaded up for the first time.... It's either a gun-carrier, or a functional purse, but she swears the two are incompatible concurrently. AND, she's got the Ruger LC9s... would never be able to carry anything larger in there. I would NOT recommend the smaller-model. Not that it isn't well constructed, just wasn't big enough for a gun, spare mag., AND the regular contents of her purse. She works in Lenoir City, I'll have to send her to that store to see if there's something there she likes! - K
  11.   I have to agree w/ this sentiment, sad but true.   I lived in Western NY for the last 41 years, things are different up there (gun laws, people are still just as retarded).   We had a house in a farming-town of 5k people (apple orchards and corn fields on the shores of Lake Ontario in Hilton, NY). I always said, that if I didn't feel safe where I lived, I wouldn't arm myself, I'd MOVE!!!   (and here I am in semi-rural TN...)   Truth be told, it's been a creeping feeling over the last few years, but the recent incident w/ the camel-jockeys in CA and Paris, proves it! Doesn't matter if you're in a theater in small town Colorado, your kid's school, a college/university, at work, shopping at the mall, WHEREVER you go in this country, you have been put on notice by the enemy, THEY ARE HERE, MORE ARE COMING, THEY ARE PREPARING, THEY WILL DIE TRYING TO KILL AS MANY OF YOU AND ME AS THEY CAN!   If you know what day it's going to happen, give me a jingle in the morning. Until then, I'm going to carry to protect myself and my family.   - K
  12. Curious to hear what you decide, Bob. I'll bring my empty brass down so you can test the new machine out! :D :D :D   - K
  13.   This is where I usually start.... I just received a shipment from AmmunitionDepot.com, very happy. They had what I wanted at a fair price to the competition, and shipped it 8-hours after I placed the order, rec'd ground FedEx from Ohio 2-days later (*during Christmas holiday*)   Got 22's and 124 gr. 9's as well!   - K
  14.   Wait, so, your semi-auto AK-clone "accidentally" converted itself to full-auto simply by having a piece slip...... And you fixed it? Now I understand why everyone wants an AK!! LOL! We were joking about about that at the LGS last week, mgr. was un-boxing a DPMS and said 'hey, wanna see how to commit a felony....', and showed us where to mod what to make it FA. LOL! I firmly believe it's only illegal if you get caught... so it's not uncommon to have an un-registered conversion hidden in the back of the gun-safe?   - K
  15. Read an interesting letter from a reader on another website I frequent, that I found interesting...   And I find myself agreeing w/ the writer's conclusion - this is a trial balloon being sent up. Why bother legislating when the people no longer resist executive dictators? Divide and conquer!   (FWIW, I have family in VA, that I visit annually, so am following this one w/ interest)   - K   "The orchestrated actions above appear to be a test to see what happens when executive orders and attorney general actions are used to bypass the legislative branch and damage or destroy the rights of the people. Unless the actions are more heavily resisted in Virginia and any other states that are trying this authoritarian approach, we should expect this to be tried at the federal level very soon. As always, be prepared. – Kass Andrada"
  16.   The only reason I was able to get a box from the LGS here was b/c the clerk was saving a few boxes for customer's purchasing rifle's! He wouldn't sell me more than the one I bought w/ the rifle! Ordered 1500rds from a retailer in Ohio will get here tomorrow. :D   You'll have to let me in on your secret sauce for the 9... I'm just getting into reloading, so that I don't have to pay 20-cents a pop @ when I take the pistols to the plinking range at ORSA...   - K
  17. Just put an order in at Ammunitionstore.com for 9 and 22. They had everything in-stock, and a good price on quality 9's, I think $11/50 box?   And it'll be here tomorrow! Guess I get to go to the range Saturday after all! :D
  18.   I've been having a heck of a time finding an IWB holster for anything on my backside.... I acquired an OWB holster from one of the guys here (wasn't using it, gave me a steal of a deal), and have found it works well for me at 5 O'clock, but the seasonal wardrobe is the only reason it's 'concealed'. I still need something appropriate for summer-clothes (guess it's time to go shopping for pocket pistols! :D )   - K
  19. Hahaha, that's amazing! How long before someone makes a post about the effectiveness of .380's? LOL!   - K
  20. VA just ixnayed TN carry permit reciprocity.   http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/virginia-revokes-handgun-permit-agreement-25-states-35914346   - K
  21. I've got the M&P compact in 9mm, 12 and 17 rd magazine (w/ the extender, it's very comfortable). LOVE the thing, very happy w/ the purchase. Have put probably 1500 rounds through it so far, only had 1 or 2 that gave troubles ejecting (and that was Walmart Ammo). So far the Speerman has been flawless. Looking at reloading equipment myself, but so far all factory ammo.   - K
  22. Thanks Jack, I'm not familiar w/ that store, I will have to check it out! Probably drove by it today (was at the range, and shopping in Oak Ridge!) Had a great conversation w/ the fellow at dragon leather works one day that way, great guy, recommend visiting his store.   - K
  23. Thanks Jack, what kind of Suppressor is that? How hard was the process? Go to LGS, fill out forms, wait....?   I was thinking of getting one, but the tax-stamp will likely cost more than the stinking device itself?!   - K
  24. Wow, what a little gem to shoot? Even my rookie-ness was able to hit 9 out of 10 times on the steel plate at 100 yds. And that miss I knew the instant the trigger let loose. That's w/ factory sights, and a cold-rainy day. Great little gun so far. Kids had a blast pinking tin-cans w/ it too. I bet w/ a nice scope you could have a tack-driver.
  25.   Thanks G, taking it to the range tomorrow! They have a rimfire line up w/ 22, 22wmr, and 17hmr:   http://ruger.com/products/americanRimfire/specSheets/8305.html   And she wants me to place another order for bulk ammo, since we can't find .22 locally. Is she a peach, or what?!?!   - K
