Sorry if I missed the message. Internet text forums ain't always the best, but its what we've got, eh? I do have kids, 3 of them. And if one got scratched up in some barbed wire out in the woods I'd ask wtf they were doing skulking around in old Mr. Reeferman's woods? My parents said the same to me. Falls into the stupid games/prizes category. In all seriousness I do believe I understand what you mean, but don't share that viewpoint. Getting cut up on some barbed wire or a nail stuck in your foot isn't fatal, I've done both. Its a learning experience.

Hmmmm.. I'll have to look that one up! (We used to call one of the guys I worked with "Bobby", because he was that kinda stupid.)
-
LOL! No argument there. I teach my kids the same thing. I started noodling on some ideas with a friend not long ago when discussing securing the area in the event of things getting sporty, or persistent burglar/drug-crime problems... some local teen keeps breaking into cars/sheds/barns for pawn fodder. How could you send a message? Legality was always a secondary debate.

That makes sense. But what if I set coyote and bear traps up around my property. Been having problems with my chickens being eaten and beehives getting broken into.... Ok, granted. Now I'm playing devil's advocate here.. regardless, am I not within my rights to do so on my private property? I'll acknowledge maybe out-of-season violation, but patently illegal? Sorry, don't mean to segue from the original posters question, just a thought exercise.

You mean like respecting no tresspassing signs? Gotcha! You take the driveway up to the house and knock on the front door like a neighbor: Hey Mister, I think my dog got lost and is running around your woods... Shrug... yep, we were raised different I guess.
-
Serious question, and honestly not trying to bait you, but, why are they illegal? Coming from NY, I know how laws like this get written.... one reason I moved to TN!!! I mean, private property should mean you have an assumption of no tresspassers (in NY, you ARE held liable if a tresspasser hurts themselves on your property... baffling to me). I had assumed (hoping?) that would be treated differently here. But by all means I'm all ears/interested in discussing... How would one be charged? Would the perp have to admit to being injured while on your property (uninvited)? Granted if an officer came onto your property and they were left out, but... In all seriousness, I've considered random lengths of barbed wire ankle high in various places in the woods around my home. How does this differ from barbed wire fencing around the perimeter? Neither ones visible at night? And I still keep coming back to the "you're not supposed to be here" argument of tresspassing... stupid games stupid prizes in my book. Granted, thats not a legal defense, but still... interesting discussion, especially in light of some possible future events these days!

UPS trucks are mostly aluminum and fiberglass? Dakota alerts have been around for a while. Good stuff! Do you have dogs/pets that roam at night? Perhaps you could setup some welcome presents for prowlers.... I don't think its illegal to leave a few 2x4s painted flat black and covered with 12d sinkers throughout in various positions around your vehicles? You know they're there, you could prolly tell your neighbors to be extra safe, but a thief won't be expecting a tiger trap.

I remember people asking about 'the snow' when I first moved down here: You don't even SEE your lawn from Dec. to March. Sometimes April.

Lifetime permit upgrade - New background check or no?
ReeferMac replied to ACfixer's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, I understand the economic argument, however.... If you fork over now for a permit that does not have an expiration, will they be able to prevent you from renewing it? I worry that one day politicians will attempt to make the permitting process much more onerous. I lived in NY for the first 40 years of my life, I speak from experience...So the thinking goes I'm permitted for life. They would have to revoke it, vs making renew difficult.Worth 200 clams to. me -
Well said HiPower. I think thats the over arching issue for most (certainly myself). Mandatory vs. choice. The grey area comes with more 'normal' activities like travel, shopping, etc. I suppose we could all mail order flowbee's off amazon, but once you start restricting things, it becomes a slippery slope. Just look at the list of essential services... everybody just declares themselves special. "Some animals are more equal than others." to quote somebody who said something more eloquent than me about it.

Oh please don't misinterperet my distrust for the goobermint and mainstream media as a refusal to acknowledge the existence of the Kung Flu nor fact that its killing people worlwide. Tis a real thing, as real as all the dead bodies in Manhattan, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania that fateful day. However, that logic cuts both ways. The genie is out of the bottle, not going back in. Its real, and its here to stay. Grok that. Giving up your rights, liberty, and security in exchange for the facade of effective preventative measures is exactly what our forefathers warned us about. The statistical data, or 'science' as the propaganda department of fed.guv preaches these days proves the draconian lockdowns are worse than ineffective. Charts that compare the death rates of non lockdown nations like Sweden, Taiwan, South Korea don't seem to appear in the published charts the newz is talking about for some reason. You go ahead and keep believing everything the talking heads say. You do you. I'll do me.
-
That old saw about giving up a little liberty in exchange for security seems apropos here? Several countries have not instituted draconian lockdown measures and have fared similar if not better than many nations, but the press doesn't like to talk about Sweden and their ilk because it hurts the fear narrative to present opposing data.

Absolutely! If that was the only data point that made me believe this crisis was being used to manipulate the population I'd be a blooming moron.

Allright, time to eat crow: Morristown hospital is currently hit pretty hard. Heated tents in the parkinglot with room for about 100 beds. Staff in the kitchen said they are above max (building) capacity. Turkey Creek still dead (according to the girls that prep the produce).
-
Excuse me while I pull out my tinfoil hat..... I'm gonna call BS. Its been a while sine I've been there, but the hospital in Turkey Creek used to be a customer of mine...they were never full, not once, during this entire scamdemic. Remember the refrigerated trailers stacked with dead bodies the national news kept talking about? Yeah, that was a scam, too. I asked a former co-worker of mine who still see's 2 of those accounts in EastTN, I'll report back what he tells me from on-the-ground reporting....

He's a politician. You won't get an honest, candid, straight answer out of him. I learned this lesson in 11th or 12th grade. Our English teacher (I was her pet student) had somehow managed (campaign contribution?) to get 2 competing state senators to come to our high school to field some questions from the students. In hindsight, it was a well organized photo op before an election. Teacher told me I would be picked to ask a question of the candidates, to dress nice (cameras boy!), and make it a good one. Being familiar with the slimy nature of swamp critters I earnestly tried to craft a question about abortion such that it could only be answered binary: yes I support, no I don't. News crews filled the parking lot, the cafeteria was re-arranged into a stage, lights, camera... The first SOB spent about 7 minutes going on and on and on about I don't even know. The second guy chimed in and said his stance was pretty much in agreement with his competitor. Neither one said 'yes' or 'no'. They're all liars, bums, and crooks. If their lips are moving, they're lying to you. Theres a reason we used to tar and feather them. If they survived the process, they would never have that role again. The stains and boils were permanent you see? Gov. Lee did what all good Politicians do. He danced the two step, catered to both sides of an issue and created non-commital action. So he can say he did something out of one side of his mouth while saying he didn't out of the other. #####g politicians... hate them all, worst scum of the earth.

Read a really interesting article on zerohedge yesterday talking about the cdc guidelines changing re: PCR testing. You may recall a couple months ago there was discussion about the test being used to diagnose, and its methodology being susceptible to false positive results? The CDC at the time suggested higher cycle counts to the test, despite the increasing odds of false positives. For those unfamiliar, the Dr. that INVENTED THE TEST suggested cycle counts beyond 35 were pointless, as it all but guaranteed a positive test. The CDC recommended labs use 35-40 cycles. BOOM, cases have been skyrocketting, haven't they? This week the CDC changed guidance, suggested 25 cycles would be better. Right when the vaccine comes out and starts being distributed. They move the goalposts. Ain't that convenient? Now I don't want y'all to start calling me Nastrodamus, but who wants to wager me 20 bucks we're going to see all kinds of news articles correlating a drop in positive tests with the new vax being distributed? Any takers? https://www.zerohedge.com/medical/who-finally-admits-pcr-tests-create-false-positives RTWT. The mask mandates and all the other rights-trampelling edicts coming from the government aren't working. Their own statistics prove it. Yet they're doubling down even harder, aren't they? Folks, this is why I think the response to this virus is a scam. I don't mean to single out @Grayfox54 by quoting him, but if you can't tell you're being played, I got some ocean front property in Kansas I want to talk to you about.
