  1. Forgive my ignorance but what is that on the bottom right hand Glock grip? Laser? Cherokee SLim

I find myself carrying the PM40 more than any of the others. It's really flat and easy to hide. It's a great summer gun under a shirt, or anytime in a boot. Cherokee Slim
  3. Has anybody renewed by mail? What did they accept for the "certified" ID? Just regular notary seal? Cherokee Slim
  4. I had a hard time carrying one my daughter had. It just felt odd. Maybe it's just me. It's really short. It's cute and shoots well & never jammed even with my handloads. I'm wondering if you have carried anything anything else to compare it with? Cherokee Slim
  5. I haven't carried a revolver in over 30 years, I just prefer autos. My daughter got a Taurus 605 for an early Christmas present and I carried it for a week or so in a IWB holster she got from Don Hume. I could never get used to the bulk of it. My other daughter got a Taurus P145 for Christmas so I carried it for a week in the same style holster. I couldn't get used to that one either. I mostly stick with Glock & Kahr .40's. (or a SS Series 70 .45 Colt if I want style points...) I think it probably mostly has a lot to do do with what you are used to carrying. I've seen a new model hammerless S&W .38 snubby I'd like to try when I get the chance. Good for pocket carry since no hammer usually equals no snag. Cherokee Slim
  6. We just got back for vacation and are in SC right now. My daughter gave me an Ruger LCP with DeSantis pocket holster for Christmas. I'm still trying to get used to how small it is. It almost doesn't feel real. I think you saw my Kahr PM40 at one of the breakfasts, that and a mini .22lr NA Arms are as small as I've gone. I'll change back to the Kahr & the Glock 23 when I'm in Chattanooga for the 2nd half of vacation. Jury is still out on the LCP. Cherokee Slim
  7. I've used a Lyman Spar T for years. I shoot a lot so it is cheaper. It also gives you flexibility in loads. I shoot SASS and load black powder 12 gauge shotgun shells & .45LC with different color chalk powder for a spectacular muzzle flash, especially at night. One thing I haven't noticed on this thread is the need for a factory crimp die for auto cartridges. I 'bout went nuts loading for .45ACP, .380ACP & .40 S&W and getting them to consistently chamber. I changed to a factory crimp die for each one and don't have any problems anymore. It's also not always about saving money. Sometimes it just the joy of the process, and teaching the grandkids how to do it. Cherokee Slim
  8. Don Hume makes high quality IWB holsters at a reasonable price. I have 7 of the same model for different guns. @ about $28 they are a good deal. Here is the link. Cherokee Slim http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_5&products_id=35
  9. I've carried the PM40 almost since it first came out. I use the Desantis Nemesis pocket holster with a tucked in shirt, and a Don Hume IWB holster with tee shirts or whatever. I love it. It's really flat and conceals easily. I was worried when I first got it because I noticed tiny flecks of black polimer after I shot it. I called the factory and was told that it's normal and would stop after 100 rounds or so. It did, just like they promised. I just never had a "black" gun do that before. But it has never jammed, not once. I fired a box of round nose thru it first, and then at least 100 rounds of JHPs a month for over a year. After I shot it for a few months I got rid of my G27, I liked it so much. Cherokee Slim
  10. I haven't owned/shot a Charter Arms revolver in over 20 years. I had one in .38 special & another in .44 special I think it was. A Bulldog maybe? They both ended up with dangerously loose cylinders after very little use. I got rid of them and have never tried another one. What has CA done to improve quality? Granted they were good BUGs but now I carry a PM40 or a LCP if I want something small. Have any of you really shot one hard to see how it holds up? I'd be curious to know. CHerokee Slim
