  1. I was just there today and found a M19 round butt I've been looking for. Price was a little cheaper than Gunbroker OTD. The people are really nice so I'll keep going back. I should have looked at the range since I've been checking it every few weeks. Cherokee Slim
  2. That looks very elegant. iT must have taken a long time to get it to look so good. I have tried carving, and have progressed to where I can get a fairly sharp point on the end of a stick. I hope to do better as I get older. Cherokee Slim
  3. OK, I've decide to buy a S&W Model 29, maybe a 629. Prefer a 6" but will take a 4" barrel. Must be fluked cylinder. LMK what reasonably priced revolver you have for sale. I'll pay what they have been selling for on the Gun Owners Club. I want a used shooter, not a one of a kind, just coming out of my special collection, engraved, previously owned by Elvis or whatever. No junk. Please LMK if you've seen one in a local shop. (I haven't but I haven't been to them all) PM or email richwagner543@aol.com Cherokee Slim
  4. A Zulu Tribe shield, spear & war club I got while in Africa.
  5. I've got 1 other 1911 Colt & carry the Colt New Agent, so I'm good for .45's. I've had it for sale here but it didn't go. I want to stay with S&W, I've had several Ruger SBH's, even carried one off duty waaaay back for a while. I'll keep looking. I did find the dies so I'll load for like all the other stuff I shoot. Thanks for the input. Cherokee Slim
  6. Do they stock the S&W 29? Do they trade? I haven't been there in a while. I was able to bet some Unique & Bullseye around Christmas time. Cherokee Slim
  7. I’m thinking about trading a Colt Mark IV Series 70 .45acp for a S&W model 29 or 629. I haven’t shot a .44mag in 3 decades but I’d like my grandsons to have the experience. It’s a caliber hole in my collection so all they know is Dirty Harry and video games. As I recall it’s a straight wall case, so easy to reload, I may even have dies somewhere. What barrel lengths are most common in this area? The Mountain Guns look like fun but I doubt I’d ever carry a “N†frame snub. How common are they? I’ll stick to my .40’s and .45’s. for carry. Are .44 bullets findable in the area or do I have to call Midway? Thanks Cherokee Slim
  8. Welcome to Chattanooga! There is a lot you can do here when you like to shoot. This Saturday the Tennessee Mountain Marauders shoot at Mystery Dog Ranch off of I75 exit 1. TN Mountain Marauders Main Page Next Saturday it's the Ocoee Rangers shooting at the Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club. Other disciplines shoot there as well. Ocoee Rangers Forums - Index If you don't shoot Cowboy (SASS) you could get bored and wouldn't dress nearly as well, but maybe some others will chime in with other possibilities. Cherokee Slim

It's not a problem. I shoot mostly warthog guns so I don't really notice it any more. Cherokee Slim

I carry both, the PM40 & the LCP as a BUG. They are my normal summer CCWs. Cherokee Slip
  11. i've noticed a good number of the EPB signs in yards lately. Looks like quite a number of people are moving to it. Cherokee Slim
  12. Welcome to the forum. You do have other options for places to shoot. You could become a cowboy and shoot Cowboy Action at least 2x a month. We shoot at Mystery Dog Ranch off of I75 exit 1 this weekend, and at the Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club next week. I live in Lakesite and joined the Cleveland Club to be able to have a good place to shoot. They also have the other major shooting disciplines as well, IDPA, PPC, etc. I have land about 5 miles past PC State Park and used to shoot there, but it's a long way to go. Everyone knows about the PC Park range problems. I wont go there anymore. Cherokee Slim
  13. I was Tech + when the law apparently changed and had passed the General written. Mostly working out of the country I never got around to the code test. Now I've renewed and see I'm back to Tech. I hung a long wire yesterday and may try to hook up my HF radio in the next few days, just to see if anyone still uses radios. I have several 2 & 10m radios besides the Kenwood TS-140S to play with. It may be worth studying to take the General exam again. Cherokee Slim
  14. Interested in trading for radios & related gear? Cherokee Slim
  15. [quote name= Did I mention that I have a really nice HK 45 for sale? [/quote] Must have missed that part. Which model & what is your asking price? Cherokee Slim KC4IHO
  16. Looks like 25 yards, but is still under construction. Cherokee Slim
  17. I had a Tech+ license, and had passed the General written exam. When they changes the licenses I ended up with a plain old Tech license. I don't know If it's worth the bother of doing anything else. I have several boxes of radios that have followed me from Colombia to Mexico to Peru and back to Soddy Daisy. I haven't even unpacked them yet. Is it really worth the trouble anymore? Not asking for flames, it's a legit question. KC4IHO/HK3IHO Cherokee Slim
  18. I agree that it's all about shot placement, and that .357 is enough for a wild pig. I've used my Rossi 1892 lever action for SASS and pigs. Cherokee Slim
  19. I have the Safariland IWB for the 3" gun for sale in my list. $30 shipped. There are several after market grips that work well. Ours came with stippled and smooth when my daughter bought it. Cherokee Slim
  20. My younger daughter got one for her EDC. She qualified with it but found it to be a bit big to hide so she got an LCP. The 605 never gave any kind of problem. She sold it because she didn't need 2 carry guns. I personally don't understand that part but go figure. . . Cherokee Slim
  21. It's on Highway 153 north of Walmart
  22. I was there yesterday, opening day, and you had to wait for a parking space. Nothing for reloading that I could find. It was hard trying to get close to the gun display case with so many people lined up. The gun department manager made trip after trip from the gun counter to the front door with stacks of sold handguns while I was there. I'm talking as many boxes as he could carry at one time. That was about noon, they had just been open a few hours. I don't know how long the selection & supply will last but they are off to a bang of a start. Cherokee Slim
  23. I have several steel targets, dueling tree, spinners, etc. that I would leave there if it was securable. Can't use them at CRPC. CHerokee Slim
  24. He said handguns only. I'd ask anyway. Cherokee Slim
