  1. This whole board should blow up her email. As a guy who gets 100's of emails a day nothing would be worse than having to sift through numerous emails for real work. Another tactic would be to change your subject line to something to entice her to open it. Start with a paragraph of praise then attack. This way you've wasted as much of her time as possible. She looks like one of the young brainwashed twits our liberal colleges are initiating these days. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  2. I'm so frustrated with how this admin treats our veterans.  This single misdeed alone makes Obama, my most hated president.   I've never served in the military and because I did not I really feel a huge obligation those who did.    We all should and I'm sure most on this board if not all do appreciate our service members.   My dad is trying to help a young man with so many PTSD issues and the VA won't help him out because he's had too many alcoholic relapses.     I guess I'd relapse too if I shot a taliban fighter in the head and then the bullet passed thru and killed a little girl that was exactly the same age as my daughter.  It broke him and he can't get help for it.   That's BS!
  3. So sad. My kids understand the rules and all guns are in a safe or on my hip. I really wish women would stop pocket book carry. It's not smart. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  4. All of them? Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  5. My doctor can ask me about my health. Anything else and he can F off. My plumber doesn't ask me if I have a gun why should a Dr. It's none of their business. Then I change my doctor the next day. Of course many Veterans don't have a choice. How many days left in this Orwellian administration? Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  6. I know!  It's the legal equivalent of cocaine.  I think it costs more though!
  7. I'M PUMPED!  I took off work two hours early on Wednesday and all of Thursday just to relax because I'll be up all night after shooting.   I never sleep after shoots.  Too fired up to wind down.     Any of you guys have this problem?      PS.. Please don't make me go first!
  8.   I always thought of the WRX STi as a rich kids car.  You feel every bump in the road, but they sure are fun.  When I was a director for one of the local Subaru dealers, a grand father came in and bought his son a brand new STi loaded to the gills.  Paid cash $51k.  He said the boy needs a new car!  He just totaled his 300Z.  I looked at him and said, then this car will kill him if he hasn't learned his lesson.
  9. I struggle with it all as a new shooter but weak hand is brutal on me. I've spent a ton of time practicing one handed lately. Strong hand feels ok but I need to hit the weights for lefty. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  10.     I love the WRX STi's  Yeah, I'm driving a four door.  Would you like to race....  I didn't think so.   I've driven some pretty elaborate sports cars while working in the auto industry and this thing is a monster on take off.   You can only apply so much horsepower to two wheels before you do nothing but smoke the tires.  The WRX solves this problem and can apply all horsepower to four wheels for a brutal takeoff.  I'd say just a tad over 4 seconds to 60.  The big difference is that most people could get four seconds 60 times in a Subaru, it takes a real driver to pull it off in a high performance real wheel drive car.     I lost a race when I was 16 in a 5.0 mustang to a GMC truck with a 350 in it.  He took off and I sat still spinning the wheels overconfident I could toast any truck so I stomped it.  Bad idea.
  11.   My experience with Nissan is not only with my personal vehicle but from insider industry connections.  I know for a fact that the six cylinder motor they used for at least 8 years had a known head gasket problem.  It's a design flaw and Nissan just loved replacing head gaskets at full price instead of recalling it and fixing it for free like they should have done.  Cheap part, $2500 in labor.  It's why my Exterra still leaks some oil.  I'm not putting that kind of money in a 2002.  The problem itself started after about six years and the car has roughly 105,000 miles on it.  Spent it's life in a garage, made every scheduled service and it's still a POS.  We would have bought a Murano in a heartbeat if this hadn't happened.  My next car is narrowed down to a Wrangler Unlimited or an F-150 Quad Cab.  Both used of course!       Unfortunately they both hold high resale values.  Wranglers have the lowest initial quality vehicle studies, yet hold the highest residual value of any car on the road.  Go figure.  I've been baffled by that for years.
  12. Sandbagging is my norm. It's not on purpose though so I guess it's not sandbagging! Seriously I will be excited if I can make Marksman. I've not been doing this long and I feel like my fundamentals are as good as expected for somebody who started shooting pistols just last Feb. I've got a long way to go but I'm in it for the long haul so lots of time to improve. My mistakes are mental. I typically shoot fair then screw up by forgetting a target or getting a procedural or three. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  13. I'm thinking about a Wrangler myself. Just too pricey for the new unlimiteds. I need room for the kids or I'd get an old cheap jeep. I can't afford a new Forester and the "good" model has only been out two years so it's not depreciated enough yet. When I do buy I like to go three or four years old. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  14. They are building junk cars now. Every model is plagued with issues. I put Nissan in the Mitsubishi category. I just don't understand how they keep selling. Also Nissan is notorious for ignoring known mechanical flaws in their designs. I've had one and I'll never have another. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  15. I think I mostly worked it out at the range yesterday. I was actually shooting better in DA. I practiced over and over racking and de-cocking then firing. My follow up shots were not as solid though. I think it's just a matter of me taking a bit more time on the first pull. We'll we see how it goes Wednesday at the qualifier. I'm really striving just to hit Marksman. If I got lucky and ended up sharp shooter then I've outshot my current ability and likely insured a tough go in any official shoots. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  16. Same boat here. We have an 02 Extera and a 04 Jeep Liberty. I drive them till the wheels fall off. The Liberty is close. I actually work for an automotive ad agency and spent some time as a director of marketing for a large group. I can tell you what to avoid. Right now My personal experience and internal knowledge tells me to avoid Nissan like the plague. VW is real obvious but they've been making crap long before they got caught. In the 20k - 30k price range if I were to buy a new small size SUV it would be a Forester. No other vehicle would be in my narrow field. It's that much better than the rest of the pack. If you want durable go for the Subaru. There's a reason Subaru was up 26% in sales when the industry about crashed. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  17. The new Forester is very nice. As far as all weather driving you probably can't find a better small SUV. These things are pretty rugged. The Edge is more stylish but the Forester would kick its tail in every performance category for what you want out of an all wheel drive SUV. Not real sure about the lawsuit thing but I know people who have Subarus with hundreds of thousands of miles on them. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  18. Just sold mine for $200. I hate that gun. How the heck does a POS like this get through quality control? Guaranteed one FTE per mag. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  19. That's the big problem actually. This is my first SA/DA pistol. I'm use to a striker fired gun. Probably shouldn't try to circumvent improving in doing it correctly. I get too much finger on the trigger and pull right with the harder pull. I know I'm doing it and know how to fix it but was just wondering on the rule. Now where are those snap caps! Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  20. It depends on the situation. Too many factors. Is my family with me? Are children in danger? If you don't engage an active shooter to save children then you are a gutless coward. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  21. I saw something that almost made me wreck from laughing. Gallatin road in Inglewood I had trouble climbing a very small hill. A guy on cross country snow skis, pink ski jacket and neon teal ski pants passes me on the side of the road. I think I did a triple take. Would have snapped a pick but I was white knuckling the steering wheel! Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  22. When you draw in IDPA is it legal to thumb back the hammer from a de-cock state before your first shot? I'm thinking on a shot that's long I would be better off putting the pistol in SA state before my first shot for more accuracy. I'm still getting use to the DA pull. Some times I pull a little to the right. I'm working on it and know what I'm doing that's causing it but that's just going to take lots of practice. So can you thumb back the hammer? Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.

    SNOW!!

    SNOW!!

I think you are vastly underestimating your snowfall total for once!  6 - 10 was the original forecast if it started sticking this afternoon.  I believe we will end up with 12+.  Especially up here in Sumner county.  I'm at 4 inches right now and this is going to go on all day long!   Can't wait to get out in it.  No four wheel drive!  No front wheel drive.  Just mad driving skill baby!  Two miles an hour!    I may have to build a snow house out of this stuff!  Epic fun to ensue later.  My kids are going to go nuts when they get up!
  25. Whatta ya know! You can make a Glock uglier! Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
