  1. Actually winning the election in NH gets you nothing. I think they have like one electoral vote. The whole process is straight up criminal. Popular vote only! Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  2. My new pistol is coming in today. Does anybody know if it's a problem for the shop to run a check after 5:00? I may or may not shoot it tonight. Game time decision. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  3. If the Castle Doctrine applies to your car can you mount it? He he. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  4. Special accommodations for a wheel chair? Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  5. hmmm.  More challenging?  Did you order those neon flashing signs for me so I can cut back on the procedurals?
  6. One more question.    I'm also trying to learn to shoot with both eyes open.  Do you guys do this?  Is there a reason to do this?  Should I work on it?   When I shoot with both eyes open, i see a silhouette of the gun just the right of it.  I'm right handed, right eye dominant, but every time I open both eyes, I get this double vision of the gun and sights.    Is that normal?  I could probably train myself to focus on the left image, but can I train myself to make the silhouette go away?
  7. Thanks gentlemen! I've not spent much time with pistols and it shows at the shoots. I just started shooting pistols a year ago and started IDPA for the training aspect then got sucked into the fun of the competition so I'd like to be more competitive. I'm in it for the long haul so years of practicing isn't a problem. I actually enjoy dry fire exercises but I bet I'm not bored yet because I've not done it to near the level you guys have. I squeezed out Marksman at the qualifier and I was very pleased with that considering my limited experience. Now to pay better attention before my nickname becomes "Procedural". Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  8. Her performance was good but in my opinion she doesn't have the class to sing that song. I don't like her a bit. She did do the song justice. Now on to those Bozos at half time. Either they were lip syncing with mics going out or they just plain suck. I get the sense that was a studio made band. You know the type. Good album horrible live. I'm not a Beyoncé fan because she's a racist. So I'm never interested in hearing her crap and watching her jiggle. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  9. I have trouble drawing and getting on target fast enough.  Any dry fire drills suggestions to help me improve?   I think I'm focusing on the target and not the front sight enough.     I feel like I'm digressing instead of improving.
  10. May be cheap but I'd go as far as saying it's really clean. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  11. ^^^^ This! I don't think the death penalty should be humane. In certain cases like this a slow grueling torture to death in public would probably be a good detractor. It's exactly what I would do to the guy had this been my daughter and I found him first. I've always thought a belt sander starting at the feet would be effective. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  12. True on a curvy road. Straight away. No chance. I never did lose to a rice rocket unless you count a 911 as one. Did get toasted by a GMC pickup once. That sucked. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  13. No way. The same stock 302s available during the same time frame would toast the SVO. I know. I ate many alive in drag races in a 5.0. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.

    Cz and sig?

Regardless of manufacturer recommendation I toss in snap caps for dry fire. Problem solved? I hope so because I'm burning up the trigger with DA dry fire practice. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  15. I think I'll shoot CCP at the next qualifier.     I see what the long term IDPA goal is now!   Get qualified in all divisions!   Revolver will definitely be last!
  16. Stage 1 was a travesty!  :59!   I thought my gun had a malfunction at one point.  Thought I had a squib.  The recoil was so low I thought no way a round came out.  Still getting use to the gun.  My previous IDPA gun was a CCP Springfield XD mod.2 in 9mm so the difference in recoil is almost like changing calibers to me.  I shot stage 2 ten seconds quicker and three just ten seconds slower.     I think I can shave 30 - 40 seconds off next time if I shoot well.
  17. ^^^^ This. Just more proof speeding tickets are just revenue generators. Court cost equal ticket cost. No way you get out paying them cash. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  18. Two words..... William Shatner. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  19. Man that's scary. Freaks me out a bit. My whole life goal is to afford a larger pice of land that's somewhat isolated and this type of stuff creeps into my head. Just keep shooting. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  20. Excellent. Now get to making ARs so we can all buy one in case the devil weasels her way into the White House. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  21. Just pay it. It won't cause insurance problems for this instance when you've not had a ticket in so many years. I got a speeding ticket for the first time in my life last year in Millersville. I just paid my ticket online to one of those services that handle technology for backwoods PDs that are on par with Roscoe and Boss Hog. Those D bags fund the city with tickets. My solution? Never pass through their city or spend a dime in it again. I was pretty proud of my ticket avoidance. It's not like I drive slow. I talked my way out of half a dozen in high school. Dads! Don't buy your 16 year old son a 5.0 Mustang. It's a bad idea. But it sure was a lot of fun. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  22. Thanks guys. That's a lot of work to pull these off. Tonight was very reassuring for me. I didn't shoot as well as I believe I can and still hit my goal. Looking forward to next week! I'm gonna lay off the coffee. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  23. Well I made Marksman and that was my goal. I did thumb the trigger on some shots just to ease my mind. I mixed in a little DA but on stage 3 I went SA the whole round. I actually blew stage 1. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  24. I intentionally didn't buy a CZ shadow and went with the tactical because I wanted the decocker. I don't get along with safeties. It's a mental block. I never remember to turn them off. Sent from the Fortress of Solitude.
  25. My rule is that only two guns in the house are loaded.  One is a 12 gauge Mossberg pump shotgun loaded with 6 rounds of buckshot.  Nothing is in the chamber.  It's in the safe.  The other is my CC gun and it's loaded and in the safe or on my hip.  One round in the chamber.     My comp gun never has a round in it while in the house.  Only snap caps.  This way I know that dry fire practice never results in a whoops.  Before I leave comp shoots, the gun is unloaded and stored.  It's not loaded until I get to the range either.   All other rifles and pistols don't get shot much and are in the safe locked up and unloaded.     I don't feel the CC course has enough safety preaching in it.  It should be hammered over and over and if you miss a question on the test relating to a safety issue, I think it should be auto fail.
