  1. I checked a few ammo bots and every milsurp ammos selection is out of stock. If anyone finds any for a good deal, back in stock or knows a place that won't effect your supply, please holler. I honestly don't know how long or how hard it's been hard to find at a good rate.
  2. BTW, any other accessories that are good ideas for these rifles that anyone can recommend would be appreciated.   Also, I'm reading on the ammo that 172 grain-200ish grain ammo is best for grouping on the M39 as this is what they used to line the sights. Anyone can confirm this? I'm thinking I'll want some of the cheap stuff even if it's not that accurate to have something to shoot on my poor days?
  3. Ooh, very good to know. Thank you   I just stumbled across this site: https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewcategories.asp?idCategory=2 They "seem" a bit high(no expert here) but a good assortment none the less. The first one I looked at was out of stock so they don't mark them oos until you click on one and view it's page, such as the M1 Garand.  Maybe something in there for someone?   Edit: No "buy" button if OoS it seems...
  4. Inch by inch, lmao. That is one beautiful firearm you have there! I am so glad you warned me about the wood surface. I wouldn't worry much about it, like I said, it's beautiful! I know that wood is fragile and all but not sure how much I would have been careful about it, mostly from some of the ignorant(not the disrespectful ignorant) instructions I've read on other forums.. I cleaned a Makarov about a month ago and even though it's was smaller(no wood) compared to a rifle, at least(shutters) I have an idea(shivers) of what's to come...  I really don't mind the cleaning part, I luv learning the gun this way but the smell, which isn't bad at first but once you really get into it, oomph!         Another thing is it seems I always either finish paying off a layaway or order a gun right on a friday. That's 2 extra days I have to wait for these, lol. Seriously though, I am excited to see these.    Huge thanks for the comments! As usual, they are damn good on here!
  5. Cool, Thank you for the info. Well, I just ordered The M39 and their Yugo SKS. I went with the VKT as I tend to like the war/story(would luv "some" trench art per say) guns also. A buddy of mine recommended the Sako as did Pete^ but there wasn't enough to sway me in the extra $50 from the pics I saw and the many posts/reviews I've read. I'll be happy unless there's a family of termites   or something living in the stock...     As for the trench art, I noticed a lot of the chinese SKS has loads of it usually. I might get a beat up one just to have later down the road if I can find one che...inexpensive...
  6. Very nice post, Thank you!   I'll be able to get the un issued SKS from SOG after the M39, but am going to do a bit more searching to make sure this is the best deal. No need to rush. I am waiting for Classic to get my FFL dealers license(will be after 3 and will be ordering that today.    Hmm, I missed(or forgot) Classic has the SKS in VG to Excellent condition for $5 more but I'd save on shipping. SOG doesn't say what shipping is until after you order or call in order.
  7. I just got a few bucks from selling a small bike and was going to buy my first C&R rifle, that being the Finnish VKT M39. I chose the VKT over the Sako due to the fact that there are more lower star reviews on the handpicked Sako over VKT and a couple other things I've read. I also read that people who selected Imperial Eagle seem to be getting nice rifles also but was wondering about the hang tag option and if anyone can give me any input as to why I might want to think about this option over stamping?       I might even have enough left to purchase an M48(I like these also)  but there are three sites to choose from ranging from $250-$399(AIM being the highest) but I may save up another week or two and see what's out there. These M39's seem to be rumored as "drying up" and I definitely wanna close on this deal. SOG has very nice unissued Yugo SKS for $425 but I think the Finnish is the way to go, again, unless I am overlooking something and someone more knowledgeable has some input, thank you.
  8. I was looking at a couple from Classic firearms but read some bad reviews(good also) from these guyz. If/when I ever do decide to purchase one, it'll be my first older rifle and don't think I want it to be a gamble. I know of JG, SoG and maybe 1 other that sells 'em. Is there a site anyone would recommend? Is Gunsamerica a good place to look? I've seen a couple guns go for good price on there.
  9. Some have received bad parts but the ones that contacted Midway about it got taken care of.  I thought some might be interested in this deal. Looks like a fun project.   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/909439/military-surplus-ak-47-polish-under-folding-stock-parts-kit-762x39mm
  10. I'd say lack of knowledge more so than confused as I am an expert on confusion and craziness  :wall: , This is my first pistola I owned that didn't auto-fire empty, so I was curious as to why or if not? Thank you all for the edumacation, I really do luv learning on here! I finally got her to the range yesterday along with a friends non-custom LCP, we both liked shooting them and the accuracy. Neither of us could tell the difference in triggers but I haven't shot much, he's been shooting most his life. Even with a pinky missing off the grip, the LCP is a delight to fire in my book. I would not hesitate to protect myself with it. I did have one  FTF using Blazer steel cartridge. I was a bit in a rush so I couldn't put many down the pipe but will have more time next trip. I didn't rush anything or wasn't safe, I just had to be to work in less time than I had bought the lane for  .      A couple people shot my Cougar yesterday and really liked it if anyone is looking for a full(15rnd) sized 9mm. They come in .40 and now .45 also but I don't know how they shoot but if anything like this Stoeger, it'll be very nice. They are inexpensive but still manufactured with Benelli name and machinery. Oops, am rambling :blah:  now...                                                                                                                                               Thanks again for input^ and keep the led a flyin'!!!         Edit: thinking back on the FTF, I believe the mag was released, not sure if I hit the release or? but pretty sure that was the cause...
  11. I just went to Range USA yesterday and even though they reload and sell the ammo, it seems we can still collect our brass as a few were doing so yesterday. I believe I only asked what they did with fallen brass and never asked if ok to collect it, which Is a question I guess I shouldn't have worried myself with in the first place...
  12. People were nice enough to stop shooting the further out I got to the brass. I think they all were yelling and trying to point at pieces near me but I couldn't really hear them with my ear protection in. Some were shaking their heads so I figure I'd leave that specific brass on the ground. when I got back to inside the shooting area, they all went about shooting again.      All kidding aside, I go to Range USA and they reload the brass that hits their ground but I saw one older fella that grabbed a step stool and was using it to reach out past the shooting area to sweep brass back towards him. Kinda risky move for a few pieces of brass imo.
  13. I just ordered a box of 380 in hopes to get by monday to shoot my new LCP using "Bradship" code, this code has no minimum purchase. I just tested code also and is still available...
  14. Hiya peeps! I just got my Custom LCP from FFL today and was cleaning her up a bit and did some dry firing. I was curious to why there's no semi auto action with an empty mag in the pistola? I'm hoping it's a Ruger thang or for DAO type guns but any info would be great! I won't be able to take to the range until monday so wanted a cure of curiosity until then, thanx!
  15. You can sign up for free member trial and save this way, also enter bradship in promo code section when checking out to get free shipping. This is great if you want just a couple boxes of ammo in the next couple days. shipping is quick too...
  16. When I moved here and the grocery store took a dime for every dollar I spent, my jaw hit the floor and I lost my appetite. I honestly didn't know any place charged tax on groceries until I got here. That's a ton of money if you think about how much we eat.
  17. I plan on getting a shotgun but not for a couple months or so and I'll look into relaoding them also. I'm on a budget so I do a ton of research for prices but also make sure it's quality equipment for safety reasons ofc. Being on a budget, Paypal has a new thing where they don't charge your account for like two weeks after you order something so I ordered $200 worth of supplies from ebay. I'm not great at saving but if I have a bill coming, I am good at keeping the monies for that, same with layaway.     I went with the Lee pro 1000. I know it's finicky but I feel comfortable with all the tweaking vids I watched to get this to run smoothly. I'm also doing this as hobby first and hopefully more firepower(ammo) second. I know I win't save money but pretty sure I'll get to shoot more. I'm starting with  Makarov, .380  and maybe luger(I can get 50rnd boxes for $10 atm).     These are the additions and are best bang for buck(no pun intended). Caliper: 6" IP54 3-Way Reading 0-6" Digital Caliper, 100-333-8, iGaging Scale:American Weigh 100g x 0.01g Digital Digital Scale Tumbler: Frankford Arsenal Quick-n-Ez Case Tumbler extra turret, dies and plates for specific caliber. Boolet puller Lee Cutter with Ball Grip  LEE 90667 * CASE COLLATOR for PRO 1000 I think there's other stuff I need/want but this is some of it for starters
  18. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Rudolph and Blitzen
  19. I'm just starting myself and found Powder Valley to have descent prices but like everywhere else is hard to find specific powder but I did find some for what I need(website isn't the best organized for searching but hey...). I also found once fired military brass for super low price but not a big selection at Brass Bombers. I also found Petco has crushed walnuts on sale(free shipping code with google search) for today only but dunno if that end at midnight or not...
  20. Thought this seemed like a pretty nice deal. They also have them for very good for $490, I don't know if they mixed up the ad or there is something different for the more expensive one but I thought the "like new" would be more? I haven't really looked closely yet.   https://www.slickguns.com/product/sig-sauer-p226r-40sw-dak-night-sights-new-44999?bc=137751   https://www.slickguns.com/product/sig-sauer-p226r-40sw-night-sights-very-good-48999?bc=137751
  21. There may be in the works of having one arranged to be at a local gun range in the Memphis area to test fire. Out of curiosity, how many would buy a box of ammo from your range to be able to send 50 rounds through one of these?
  22. For those few that don't check out Slickguns(I'm addicted to) and for those that need/want a new gun smell in their lives... KGC has brought in 1,000 of the Custom LCP's to sell at $219. They have layaway(30% down) if you want to put about $70 bucks down and pay the rest on payday or take 90 days, whatever floats your boat/? I just ordered one last night after many days of trying to talk myself into saving for a reloading kit(back to the back burner :wall: ).       These are sold out everywhere and seems is like a hot item. I posted this in another post but started thinking more would see it and take advantage of it if it had it's own post. My friend works at Academy and gets inquiries about this gun often. I told him about the deal and he was like "man, everyone is asking about this gun".    I do apologize to those that have not found slickguns yet because once you start looking here, it is very hard to stop each day...   Slickguns link: https://www.slickguns.com/content/2016-t-shirt-and-free-upgraded-account-contest?bc=137751#comments   KGC direct LCP link: https://www.kygunco.com/ruger-lcp-380-auto-centerfire-pistol-275in-blued-61-black-nylon-grip-82404
  23. This custom pocket .380 from Luger I just ordered might be a good investment. Kentucky Gun Co. just got a thousand in the other day but I don't expect them to last long. They are priced for $359ish at Academy and are out of stock just about everywhere else. My buddy works at the Academy in collierville and he says he gets inquiries all the time about them but doesn't have any in stock at his store either. Might be one of those "shoulda bought when I had the chance?"    I mainly wanted to chime in because the price KGco has them for $219   https://www.kygunco.com/ruger-lcp-380-auto-centerfire-pistol-275in-blued-61-black-nylon-grip-82404
  24. I finally got down yesterday and is a very accurate weapon. First few shots stung the hand(a little) but got used to it quickly. I used Monarch steel as it was readily available at Academy sports but might switch after some research on if all Mak ammo stinks up the range like this stuff did .  There was only a couple others shooting and they were at other end of range but was wondering if there is any etiquette on stanky ammo? I wouldn't think there was much of a rule but I like to be considerate to others but on the other side, don't think it would have bothered me much if it was someone else's ammo...   As to trying the decocker, it did block it from firing so that's a plus. I also saw this on a video just before going to the range but it was still nice to do a personal safety check.
