  1. Thanks. I've heard mixed things about Clarksville. We are renting a home off exit 1 and the area seems to be good. Neighbors say it's quiet around here and only residents tend to come back here.  What are the other bad areas of Clarksville? And if we, say, wanted to break our lease if possible (my wife is freaking out about it) what areas should we look at? I have seen Adams mentioned. She, so far, isn't buying the whole, "if it happens again then we'll move" I did hear shots in the late afternoon that day, and maybe once a week or two before. Back home I would hear the same but knew it was people in their yards target shooting or something. We def did call LEO
  2. Hello everyone,  I recently arrived to TN from Hawaii, a place I was happy to leave. I'm originally from the Deep South but have roots in southern Kentucky and Tennessee. So far, I love this state and its people. I grew up around firearms and had several as well as a carry permit back home; however, I sold them and let my permit lapse when I moved to Hawaii since it's pointless to even try to own guns in that state.  However, I do have a plea. I'm all for people owning firearms if they can be responsible with them. Please don't be an idiot and shoot handguns in a residential area. I have been here less than a month, but two nights ago my wife and I were woken up around 4am when a bullet exited the ceiling and struck the wall in our bedroom. From the angle, it had to come from above and nobody heard a gunshot, so I surmise it was likely a stray. It was definitely a handgun round, looked to be about a .40 or .45 caliber. I was both angry and disappointed, as this could have been potentially lethal or injured my family or myself.  Having said that, is this a common thing around here? I chalked it up to a freak occurrence, but any suggestions on what to do to prevent this in the future? Probably more to alleviate anxiety than anything, as my wife can't sleep at night now. I was thinking of getting some thick plywood sheets to place in the attic above the bedroom.  Otherwise, hello everyone and it's good to be out of paradise!
