  1. I run a Marlin 336 30-30 with a leupold scout scope on an Ashley rail. It works well and is really good for moving targets.
  2. There's a pretty good ham forum over on ar15.com in the outdoors section. They have a few stickied threads and links that will help you. Also a pod cast called ham radio 360 that is pretty good. I can't see your location from my phone but there are several clubs around that will be glad to help you. Several of them has weekend classes and then test sessions.
  3. I'm pretty happy with my 44s. Had to make this decision a couple of years and glad I standardized on 44 for my woods guns.
  4. Just got out of an armorers course. $125
  5. I have several emersons and have carried them for the past 10 or so years. I have been pretty happy with them. They are built like tanks
  6. We have them at work on ~100 rifles. No problems to speak of. I also run one on my 7.5sbr with no problems. Will be buying another very soon unless I find a good deal on a micro.
  7. I got one. The 9mm compact (mid size) in FDE with night sights. Got a pretty fair price on it from G&L. I am really impressed with it, especially the trigger and the accuracy. Need to score a few more mags and it will be set. I don't have any pics.
  8. You can get a "factory letter" from S&W telling you about the history of that gun. It's pretty cool. Did one for a relative's gun that was another relative's Chicago PD duty gun.
  9. Back in the day I ran a Safariland 070. I guess they still make them?
  10. TBI does background checks for like 39 bux. I suggest calling them.
  11. I have the big pelican cooler. Been very happy with it other than the weight. The bigger the cooler you get the more crap you seem to load it down with.
  12. Emerson SOFK rides shotgun with me. Has for about 6 years.
  13. Checked out the range. They had subsonic 300bo and subsonic 9mm in stock. Left with a sack full.
  14. Man I have been wanting to build a 5.5" 9mm upper to go with my can in a bad way.
  15. I have a DPMS LR308 with a 24" barrel. It shoots the lights out. The only issue I have ever had with it is that the DPMS factory mags are shitty. I went through 3 batches of them and could not get reliability. I switched to C-products and magpul mags and have not had a single malfunction.
  16. Get you some hornady lever evolution boolits for it. Easily extends the range of the 30-30 to 200+yards. A 160grn bullet going 2400fps sighted in 3" high at 100 will be 0.2" low at 200 and -12.1 at 300.
  17. Worst movie I ever saw at a theater was Groundhog Day
  18. The gun in question is unfired. Can't be many of those around.
  19. Pawn shops are full of the flukes. Sub $100.
  20. I like Martins in Nolensville and Judge Beans BBQ in Brentwood. Honorable mention to Jacks. There is also Jack of Hearts in Spring Hill.
  21. It's a sickness man. Pretty soon inch groups won't be small enough. Then you will want half inch groups. Then you will start reloading and weighing your cases and sorting them. Prepping brass. Trying different components and different recipies...... Stop now before it's too late.
  22. Thanks for the link. Getting an order ready. It's a norinco
  23. Nice build. Might do a little better with lower scope rings and a better butt stock but not bad at all. How is the trigger?
  24. Does anyone know where to purchase an original 10rd mag for one? I recently acquired one from a family member; it doesn't have a magazine and I hate the 30 round aftermarket ones. Thanks
  25. I like those claymore mine ones.
