AOW Breaching tip...a couple of questions.
WarPig replied to WarPig's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
You never know when you need to bust open a door, brother! I was actually running rooms with some buddies this weekend and thought, "whats the point of this thing if I can't crash a door with a sawdust round and push 230 lbs of rage through it?!?" I'm going to work with a guy at the Alliance PD range in MI this winter on breaching techniques so i figured I better get it ready. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
Everyone I have seen mounts via choke threads. If it's silver soldered I would suspect it legally changes the barrel length, but being an AOW, I'm not sure why it matters?
I assumed it would matter bc that is the length on the form 4. (If someone ever wanted to be a prick about it). I just wasnt sure if threads on it would be robust enough to handle constant smashing against wood/glass/metal. I plan on running it through a few courses. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
I got a Remington 870 Witness Protection a few weeks ago and wanted to put a breachers tip put on it. I have seen a few of the ones that screw in the choke or tigthen on with an allen but that doesnt seem like the best solution. My concern is if I have a tip silver soldered to the end does that legally change the length of the barrel? And does anyone know of a gunsmith around Nashville that does work like that? Pics. I have one of these I inherited but someone went and screwed on a funky aftermarket butt pad on it. I am looking for something a little more traditional to put over the end so I can pull the firing pins and put it over my fire place. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

The problem I am having is I have a Seekins lower with a flared magwell so the gen 3 plastic lip in the back of the mag doesn't fit. I think i will just buy a Lancer and take a gen 2 pmag, a hex and the lancer and run them at the range. I just wanted to see if anybody had good/bad/indifferent experiences. I like the idea of having a different brand for 300 than my 556 anyways. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I got one of these hex mags on accident because a guy was spraying some for me and ran out of pmags. I have a ton of pmags and drank the magpul kool aid. However my 300 BLK SBR has a flared magwell and the Gen 3 pmags wont fit and the Gen 2s dont always work either. I popped one of the hex mags in and it fit like a glove. Before i go out and buy crates of these things, does anyone have any experience with them? Do they hold up well to range abuse, keeping them loaded for long periods, cycling issues, etc? Could have used these last night...they got me for a few on the late night flight back to TN. Probably the last flight I will make this year though. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I took the black and white to color kind of like they were living in Mayberry. (I mean Rick is no Andy Griffith but...) Like a make believe place. If you look at the cinematography it was done single plane focus, shadows on the wall and all just like back in the day. And this event forced them to see the world for what it was. I enjoyed it. Change of pace. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Advanced Armament Repair??

I will pop a pic up later but long story short, someone touched a paper/plastic mixed target with my extremely hot Advanced Armament SR7 barrel and the target melted to the dang thing. After it cooled I gently poked at it with NO TOOLS and the finish (along with the paper/plastic mix) popped right off. AAC told me they would ship it back free of charge and take a look/fix it, but I have been hearing horror stories with them recently due to the change in facility and all that. (like guys saying it takes them 9-10 months to fix their suppressors and stuff) Anyone dealt with their repair department recently? I'm kind of wondering if it's worth just saying screw it and leave it as is just to avoid having it gone that long. But if it keeps running it could make it where the SN may not be readable and that would be bad news all around.

Ozark Ordnance 300 BLK...anyone used this stuff??
WarPig replied to WarPig's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks musicman. I have had a half a dozen pros explain MOA....but every time they start talking i always hear the adults from Charlie Brown start talking and Lucy saying "good guns, shooter, and ammo=bad guy goes bye bye and bullets work like you kickin a football charlie brown...they fall." If it hasnt been said already, the rubicons and saharas are the only 2 with dana 44's. Main difference is the Sahara has limited slip differentials and the Rubicon has lockers. I had a sahara and it was fine in the mud of Tennessee but when I went to Colorado it was a PITA. If you are going to do any off roading I strongly suggest a Rubicon or adding front and rear lockers to whatever you get. If you are just going to do light off roading you will be fine with a Sahara or any other one down the line. As for other things to look for: new soft top (they last 5-7 years on avg), bed rust, water electrical damage (i would buy one from an owner who looks like they liked the "idea" of a Jeep...not one where there is mud in every nook and cranny) May just want to drop it by a mechanic for a once over. The biggest thing is make sure average Joe didnt do all the work. Don't buy one with a "Built by Youtube" bumper sticker. I had a late model (03) TJ and it never had any issues. I did some mods myself but had my neighbor mechanic help with the complicated stuff. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Well gentlemen...good news/bad news. The good news is I am out of my boot and ready to shoot. Bad news is the perfect little 10 pointer I was hoping would come back this year is gone. Looks like it will be just me and the ladies for a few weeks. (Ignore the date. I put new batteries in and forgot to reset it) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

So I cleaned out the cabinet, sold some extra rounds I had in mass quantity, and now I am searching for some 300 BLK that I can actually "run and gun" with and don't feel guilty taking my SBR and can to a class and blowing off a few thousand dollars worth of ammo. JeffL told me about Ozark Ordnance...it's once fired (mostly LC) 556 brass that's made into 300. 1 thousand 147g is around $400, their subs are still around $.80 a round with Amax bullets. But for classes and training I would be ok with 147, which is close to the price of my 556. I would feel a lot less guilty about that. Anyone shot this stuff?? Any good? The website has great reviews but there aren't a lot of them. I have enough friends to fill a website with half a dozen decent reviews. Before anyone starts, I have no intention of loading ammo. (I am not a "detail oriented individual" and I have the tendency to have a heavy pour of bourbon and think I can still do things like build cars, use a flame thrower, talk to my wife about ex girlfriends...and the list goes on. But I have a feeling I would eventually add putting gunpowder, brass, and projectiles together and weeks later be shocked that my $2,500 AR build exploded on the range). EDIT: Yes, I was well aware that new 300 ammo was $1 a round when I started this build. This gun build plus the AAC SR7 suppressor has left me "fo-rich" as my wife calls it. It's like an Escalade with $5 in the tank and a million dollar mansion with no furniture.

Part of me contemplated coating the threads with loctite and just leaving it on there. I got the thing for literally $1 (capitol armory special, buy a 9, get a 45 for a buck) and the thing can be taken apart from the base so if I ever needed to change out baffles i could just unscrew it. I have another 45 can anyways but this is the only one rated full auto. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -

Ok I was talking with my brother in law last night and the discussion of putting a suppressor on this thing came up. I have an AAC TiRant with standard threading. The concern is after a mag or two we always have to tighten up the can again. Couldnt the vibration on this thing just wiggle that dude right off? It doesnt have any locking mechanism like my SR7. Anyone have any experience with this? Solution? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -

I'll take a look. I am a T1 micro guy..i had a eotech on one of my ARs and felt like it was a little bulky but thought this platform may change my opinion. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
Lucky man. I did opening day last year down in Texas. I think everyone hit there limit before 10 am, and there were easily 60 guys in the same field. It looked like a Civil War reenactment. I thought we had killed every dove in Texas but we drove by the field that afternoon and there were more than in the morning. If you need those little dudes to find a home I have a Big Green Egg and some killer marinade. Just saying!

Ya know, when I got in the Class 3 game I kinda figured it was the good Lord's way of telling me that I needed to learn to be patient. It's like getting old and forgetting where you left your 3 finger pour of top shelf scotch just to wander in a room a few weeks later and find it like Christmas in October.
