Congrats, reloading is very addictive, I know!
-
 Well, you could always go up and rent the Wilson Combat AR to get some practice in!
-
What's to laugh at, that looks great!
-
Just a heads up, Range USA will be starting the AR night again on 1/10/09.

I've got on the of the U.S. Survival rifles and it has shot everything I have fed it, including the bulk stuff. When I first got the gun, it wouldn't work at all (spent casings would try to eject to the left, into the receiver). I shipped it back to Henry (on their dime), they replace the barrel, ejector and mags and shipped it back to me, no charge. I put 50 rounds of min-mags through it without one failure and now I have shot over 200 rounds of Rem. bulk pack without one failure. Oh, and I got the gun for $10.00!! As far as floating, i don't know, my stock does not appear to filled with foam. But then again, having a floating firearm was not one of my requirements. Now for SHTF weapon(s), well, I have ammo for most of my guns. If I have to leave the house for a safer environment the current conditions will determine what I bring with. This may need another thread, but, whatever you choose for your SHTF weapon I would be sure you can service it as there may be no gunsmiths available. I like glocks for this aspect, even my 10/22 is user friendly for fixing yourself.

agreed, if the machine is old, and you are already having other problems - replace it. I'm looking for a new Washer/Dryer set as well. Both machines still work, just not that well. My W/D combo is around 8 yrs old and I've replace 2 parts in each so far and I'm just not willing to replace more part in them.

hmm, my order is 26280, and on ar15.com Del-Ton is saying they are processing orders in the 22k range, so hurry up and wait, and wait, and wait. While I'm waiting, I'm still looking for an upper, who knows I might find a deal some place. From AR15.com, in Del-Ton's thread under "Industry":

Congrats!!! I hear ya about finding the time to reload. I work 2 jobs, have a 4 yr old and a 7 month old, the wife works long hours. Spare time? What's that?

I have a Sig and I love it. I held a P22 before I bought the Sig and it just felt too small for me. My Sig has not been finicky on ammo. It shoots the bulk stuff just as well as the CCI Mini-Mags or Stingers. When I bought my Sig it included a $10 rebate for buying 4 boxes of Mini-Mags. My one and only issue with the sig is with the factory magazine. If I shoot the Mini-Mags or stingers when the 9th round is fired the 10 round will eject with the spent casing. This only happens with high velocity ammo, not with the standard velocity. I got 2 new sig magazines and I have not had that problem with either one.

hmm, I've also got 3 Marlin .30-30's so I'll have to give that ammo a try. Thanks for the heads up

hmm, I have a 590-A1, and I bought it about a year ago! Yup, mine came with all that! I've since added the surefire forend, a side saddle and just recently added the Knoxx Spec Ops recoil reducing stock to it.I think the only difference is at the time I purchased mine, the only barrel length option was 20", and now they have an 18.5" one (although with 1 round less in the tube).

HMM, if y'all go to Hero Gear I might need to tag along, heck, I'd even drive

Sent you a PM. I would start with AR15.com and the usual gun auction sites. Good luck (i'm waiting for an upper only to finish my build, I've got an order in with Del-Ton but they may be out of stock before they get to my order, sometime next summer)

I also use the RCBS. I started out on a lee, and it sucketh!! The RCBS is a balance beam type scale, but very accurate and easy to adjust the settings. One day I will get an electronic scale, but for now, I just don't have the need.

Question... In looking at the above link, under the "faq" section it says this: I've heard that including other people (not spouse) as a trustee would allow them access to the NFA item(s) without you needing to be with them, the above "faq" seems to counter that claim? Also, does anyone know of any lawyers in the Memphis area that have experience with setting up a trust for an NFA item? I looked at www.guntrustlawyer.com but they want $600 to start with and any changes to the trust are extra. I've got a copy of Quicken Willmaker, but I want to make sure all my t's are crossed and i's dotted. Thanks

I'll let you know about the dies after Christmas, they were on my list, and I've been good so I'll have to see what Santa brings. Amazingly enough the .44mag rifle is a lot quieter than a .44mag revolver so I haven't received too many strange looks at the range.
-
Some FFL's will not give a copy of their FFL to an individual, only a business. They will provide you with the FFL number though. Be sure to include a legible copy of your ID when you ship the firearm, this is so it can get recorded in the bound book properly.

Interesting, keep us posted

sadly, rounds had to be purchased separetly, oh well. I saved the brass so I can reload though
-
JeffSig, don't worry, it will be even merrier when the wife gets her present (XDM 9mm) As far as a range report: Excellent shooter, nice groups. I've only shot it out to 25yds so far. The rifle had one jam up early on, but I think that was just me moving the lever too slow. Now, to get the .44mag dies and start reloading for it!
-
Can anyone post a copy of the actual letter?
-
Well, got me an early Christmas present. A Puma M92, 16" bbl blued. It is chambered in .44mag, and is a sweet little shooter. Here's a pic, sorry but it is a lousy pic.

There used to be a Lotus that would drive by my work everyday. I just couldn't imagine paying that much for a car, and the color be "burnt orange" Ugliest color for a car that I can imagine (well no, it's not, I've pea-soup green cars before too)
