  1. I grew up on a farm. I saw many cattle, sheep (and lambs), chickens, hogs, etc. go from farm animal to my plate. So yes I know how bacon starts out. I know where my steaks and ground beef come from. As to these eco-nuts, I'm not the least bit sorry there million dollar boat got smashed.
  2. :usa: Very good Video!
  3. Well, we had my dads memorial service in July of 2008, and he received the honor guard and "21 gun salute", then in June of 2009 when my dad's ashes were interred at Fort Snelling in MN there was another "21 gun salute". My dad was a MM2 in the Navy. I would think that what type of honors are shown at the funeral would be up to the immediate family. I know both the funeral home where his service was held and then again at Fort Snelling we had to request what honors were to be done (though the funeral home planned everything for us). I honestly don't know what was harder, my dads memorial service right after he died, or going to Fort Snelling 1 year later.
  4. I did the tri-fuel conversion from the site listed above. Took about an hour to complete, I would imagine it would be quicker to do an LP only conversion. My only complaint is that it is a bit harder to start running LP only, I suspect that I just don't have the right technique yet. As far as the carb going bad with gas, I run my generator once a month for about 15 min, and keep stabil in the gas. I've had my generator for about 2 years and on gas it always starts on the first pull.
  5. This otta be good
  6. I don't think so. If he had renewed the day it expired or earlier then, yes it would have. TN allows you to renew your permit up to 6mos after it has expired (I think) without going through the class again. But if you let it expire, it stay's expired until you get your new permit. At least that is my understanding.

Try this link: "Suspect in Jefferson killings tackled by deputies during court appearance" by Video today -- Walworth County Today More of the video, and you can hear the suspect getting tazed just before the door closes
  8. .577 T-Rex is the gun, I think. .577 Tyrannosaur - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Not something I would want to shoot.
  9. I just might have to do that, infact, I should send them more than one!
  10. SImple, it's their rules. You must be over 21, giving them a copy to put on file will show that they only sold ammunition to someone over 21. Could you "forge" a copy and send it in yup. But what it boils down to is that if you want to buy ammo from them, you must play by their rules. It may also show that they are playing by state laws as well. I don't know. I have bought ammo from them before, and had no problem with sending them a copy of my ID. Only have to do it once, now it is permanently on file with them. No biggie in my book.
  11. So, if guns are purchased "illegally", then there were purchased w/o the NJ police permission (in NJ one must get "permission" from the PD to purchase a gun) then how would said gun be in the registry? Hmm, just another way to track the law abiding citizens, dunno.
  12. I will say that Henry Repeating Arms has great CS. I bought a used U.S. Survival rifle KNOWING it did not work. When I contacted Henry I told them I bought a USED rifle, KNOWING it did not work and I wanted to send it in to get it checked. They said no problem sir, what is your address and we'll send you a UPS shipping label. 2 weeks after sending my rifle off, I got it back. The "invoice" listed the following: Replaced ejector Replaced Barrel Replaced magazines (quantity 2) The total cost was $0.00 I did not pay shipping either way, free repair to a gun I told them was defective when I bought it, yeah, that's good customer service in my book!
  13. Did you notify them of the mistake? If so how was it handled. I've used SG several times and get their email usually twice a week for their specials. Never had a problem with my orders.
  14. Count me as well
  15. Because, at P.T. Barnum said "there's a sucker born every minute". In this case there's always a newbie to owning guns and they don't know any better and they just want the cheapest mag they can find. I have 2 of the BC steel lips. First thing I did before using them was douse the inside with silcone or teflon spray. I've never had a problem from them.
  16. OK, so the AG seem to be contradicting himself a little. Go here to read the entire opinion: http://www.tn.gov/attorneygeneral/op/2009/OP/OP158.pdf His answer: Next question: His answer: So he states that they are required to post the signs, then says you will still get charged for carrying if they don’t post. Here is the detail on the answer to question 6: So, he is equating “carrying in a prohibited place†(i.e. school) with carrying in a place that may or may not be prohibited. I can see where a school does not need to post, as that is a place that is specifically prohibited by law. A park is not prohibited, unless the city/county opts out. But then, I guess it would fall under the old law that said parks are prohibited, just like schools. This is VERY confusing
  17. I got my husky off of ebay, never had a problem with it. I agree with the others, Husky or Stihl. Before I had a Husky, I had a "Wild Thing" (forget the mfg) that I got at HD. It worked, until it lost compression. It was then that I found out the "life" of those cheap saws are only something like 100 hrs. Now I know I ran mine for more than that but it should still be running today. I know my Husky, properly taken care of, will prolly out last me and go to my son!
  18. My mom still has a set of "lawn darts", complete with the heavy metal tip. I remember playing with them all the time growing up. Did we ever play with them recklessly? Yup, every time a game was played, who could throw it higher, farther, etc. Did anybody ever get hurt? NOPE, not once, not even a scratch. And if we were hurt, it would have been our own damn fault not the fault the lawn darts. I'm gonna see if I can get that set from her, and have some fun
  19. The only thing I have purchased at gunshows have been ammo cans.
  20. Good idea, give everybody one last weekend to eat whatever (or for some to get an early start to the diet & exercise )
