Const. Carry Bill brought up today
conn_air7 replied to CommsNBombs's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Just saw this, I'm not sure whether it would be a good thing or bad thing. The downfall is that we have already invested a little money into the ability to carry legally. However, it would most likely prevent us from having to pay anymore from here on out. Would definitely suck for those who have paid for a lifetime permit. I think that carrying a handgun should be a privilege, not a right. I don't trust a lot of people carrying around a handgun. I feel like this would allow people that have no business carrying a handgun to carry whenever they want. This would allow "criminals" to legally carry a firearm?? Recap: 22 year old man is caught burglarizing, gator takes control of the situation by neutralizing the threat, and the state euthanizes the Gator for being a good civilian. Who is the real winner? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Official Thread of 2015-2016 deer season
conn_air7 replied to rugerla1's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Realistically, it just takes a lot of practice to age a deer accurately. I'm sure you aware of aging deer by their teeth, but that's obviously not an option from the stand. Typically, I look for two or three things. The first is the skin, once they get above 4, the skin is noticeably looser than that of a younger deer. The second thing I do is look at the arch of the back. The more arch or dip, the older the deer. The backline of bucks begins to droop over the years from fighting. 1-3 years you typically won't notice this. The last thing I look at is their gait (walk). You can tell whether a deer is younger or older by the way they walk around. 1-2 years are pretty easy to age, they have a slim body and less mass on their antlers. Hope this helps a little! Hunter orange for squirrel hunting during deer season??
conn_air7 replied to Dirtshooter's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I knew what you meant man, I think that was fully inclusive for the orange blaze requirements though. It wasn't under the big game section, just "general hunting regs." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Anyone recently get their HCP?
conn_air7 replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You will definitely be shooting 50 rounds total. As for the distances, they could have blind folded me and I still would have passed. 1. Fill out online application 2. Print confirmation # 3. Register for class, bring conf# 4. Pass Class 5. Birth Certificate and Drivers license to DMV, then pay 6. Finger prints 7. Good to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hunter orange for squirrel hunting during deer season??

Here's my best, I am 99 percent sure you do not have to. However, I strongly advise you do, as I'm sure you already knew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'm not sure this is required, but I am sure I always have, I don't trust people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Yeah everything is way too high right now, but by Friday there will be some really good levels. Where do you normally paddle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't see it any different than carrying somewhere that you know you aren't supposed to. We all know that the majority of the people here carry where they want for the most part. Are you respecting the owner of the place who posted the TCA sign, not at all, so what's the difference? I am all for respect, but that's not even the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We are seeing some pre rut action in Bradley County. A little trailing and chasing going on! I think the temps are still a little too high, but the rut should be full effect the next few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Just picked up a new Range Finder
conn_air7 replied to Peace's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Simmons makes a range finder around $120 that has been very good to me. It was friendly to my wallet and hasn't let me down yet. I use it for bow hunting, I've never found a range finder necessary for rifle hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

However on a more serious note, I would try using some dietary supplements to improve your dogs physical state. The spots seem to be an allergenic issue, but the hair issue makes me wander. Is it still experiencing issues with dry skin and brittle hair? I would probably associate that more to a dietary deficiency of some sort or excessive shampooing (which you mentioned you had to intervene in this area). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My dog doesn't have the same issues, but it's definitely got problems. I repeatedly tell the dog to smile and this is the best it can do. Good for nothing mut, the pound told me this was the dog for me, but I'm having second thoughts at this point. Anyone want to take it off my hands? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
