People in general are increasingly nasty these days. I come home each night with a story to tell of some kind of rude occurrence. I believe a lot of it is social media "warriors" forgetting where they are.

I agree. But a lot of people refuse to recognize the burden that illegals alone put on the healthcare system let alone the native trash that work the system. Until someone grows a set of nuts and says NO it's only going to get worse. Conflict of interest is why we aren't getting anywhere. The people deciding the laws are taking a cut. Hard to get them to act on what should be done. Meanwhile you and I and the rest of the working class suffer.

Although my "poll" was indeed in a rural setting I can't imagine it's much different around the country. Im one of those that was against a stimulus check when this started because I know my community. Now over a year later they have proven me right .

I had a conversation this past weekend with a local nurse saying thats the situation here in east tn. The max capacity is sometimes tallied by the number of workers they have to cover said beds. Older employees took an early out while younger ones took the opportunity to move up and make more money more in the private care sector or another line of work all together. Related story, I spoke with a gentleman today who started as a dishwasher in Jan of this year and is now the store manager. The place can't get help and the new minimum wage isn't feasible nor alluring to new hires. Thats why the unemployment numbers and economy reports weekly are hard to believe.

First let me apologize as I should have been more clear and certainly did NOT try to lump anyone overweight or obese into 1 category. My disdain is for those that you and I carry along being part of the working taxpayers while they live the care free lifestyle on our dime. They take and never give. They go to the ER or urgent care once a week. Then when their bad habits get the best of them they get a free ride to the end of life. THOSE people got fat and lazy thanks to working the system. And FWIW 10 years ago I was 6'2" 300lbs and not in the best of health. But I got my fat ass up everyday and went to work just so I could wave at my welfare neighbor sitting by the pool I helped pay for in the evening. I made lifestyle changes and im a better man today because of it. But I worked and didn't look for a handout. But I also didn't go pat my neighbor on the back and say "here's half my check cause we are equal". I'll stop the ramble but the point is if you're not willing to pull your weight you shouldn't get the same slice of pie that I get. And it's getting worse

When we declared obesity as a disease I knew those of us that pay into the healthcare system by force were F***ED. The way I see it YOU being a fat lazy POS all your life and sucking off the system directly affects the healthcare available to me when I come in to get treated. It's like having a bogo for a chik fil a sandwich. Except I buy the 1 and they hand the FREE one to lard ass welfare lifer where he then gets to eat his hot and fresh and bitching about it the whole time and THEEEEEN I'm told i can then eat my cold soggy one. Sounds fair to me .

This has never been more clear than in the last year. We have a thread on it elsewhere but ill post it here since you mentioned Bezos. A recent story about the USPS stated they lost 9.2 billion last year. This was per their annual fiscal report. Interestingly enough they claim it would be worse had it not been for the deal they made with Amazon during O's last term. After digging a little deeper it turns out Bezos made some kind of deal with USPS using their logistics in turn for a undisclosed profit. While it may be a common practice I personally didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling from anything he has control of.

From where I am sitting they are turning a blind eye to sorry asses on the gvt dole and trying dicate how I live my life, the working man.

This last page brings up a good question. How many are out there unvaxxed and draw a welfare check ? Would it be ok to drop them from receiving health care when they get it ? I am willing to wager a great number of them fall within the high risk category. And since they receive and NOT put in the kiddie they are 100% a burden to the system already.

Never saw them before but I haven't been since late 2019. Probably a CYA by the city to be honest. Soaky Mountain down the street has turned into a regular bar scene anyway and they did just have one woman shot and killed by another so their butts are probably puckering right now. Sevier County likes that cash flow and doesn't let much stand in its way, morals and ethics included. All I'll say is given the current climate they'd have to have wand screening like the old songbird has started before I'd consider changing my EDC habits.
