I assume you are referring to a model 92 ? If you ever decide it's taking up too much room keep me in mind........
-
I'm just guessing but I bet your lug is earless ? Meaning someone neutered it along the way and all you have is an odd shaped block there.

Your words have touched me mosinon. With that said I will tear myself away from monitoring schools for using the word GAY and come help the cause. Along with mosinon's gun buy back I will be hosting a "cartridge for candy" party. Bring all that dangerous ammo in and receive a snack size pack of M&M's.

I understand that money will be the motivator, but find me a realtor willing to get in there and fight their arse off so you can get a great deal, FOR FREE, and I'll show you the realtor who won't be in business long.

My "goto" realtor is a 20 year veteran of the Marine Corp.

I've had one for about a year now and it's become my grab-n-go ccw piece. I keep it where I can just grab it up and drop it in a pocket if I am in a hurry. Very slick indeed !

The above saved me a lot of typing, lol. Spot on ! Personally I focused more on land. They're not making more of it, in MOST cases it will always be worth what you paid and appreciate in value over the long haul, and depending on the criteria you might be able to swing a farm loan which in some cases has a better interest rate and lower down payment % than a bank. I say SOME cases because a year ago my bank was lower on interest rate, closing cost, and length of loan as compared to FCS (Farm Credit Services) but that was due in part to the house and land being looked at. We waited years for the right deal to come along and just socked away $$$ best we could. With the economy the way it is we scanned every foreclosure site we could looking for the best deal. So the best advice is to be patient. GOOD LUCK !

Bringing back the nickel with FLITZ ?
FUJIMO replied to FUJIMO's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Well by "no luck" I mean it didn't brigthen it back up in the slightest bit. As far as the current finish on the gun it's pretty much in line with what I've read and saw online. It has a cloudy hazed finish on most of the gun. No pitting, no flaking, the metal itself is flawless just cloudy. I removed the grips and shot a couple "before" photos so if it did work I would have future reference material. The finish under the grips is like it should be, like a mirror. But it's like looking at a clean glass beside one with soap scum compared to under the grips. I am a little suspicous of the mothers anyway. I've used their product before and it was never this thin. Their polish always have some body to it and thickness and this stuff was like water. I am tempted to go back to Autozone and pop the top on another bottle just to see if I got a expired bottle or something, lol. Just my luck. -
Just picked up a nickel wheel gun and it's a bit dull here and there. So I started researching on how to bring that shine back and like all things opinions are varied as well as what products to get the best results. Many advise to use something called FLITZ but use it lightly, only when neccesary, and in moderation. Others suggest Mothers (tried the chrome polish last night...no luck !) and others suggest a homemade concoction of lemon juice and various household chemicals. So as usual I am turning to the fellow TGO crew for help. I have a nickel gun that has lost it's shine......what do I do now ? I don't want to take it back down to copper and while I would love to re-nickel the entire gun that's not only overkill but I am sure not worth the expense. And for those suggesting FLITZ please let me know where I might pick up this product locally (Knoxville area) as I've been unsuccessful in tracking it down thus far.

While not being an expert I know some of the WASR's run fine while others are junk. I don't recall at this very moment but there's a certain number WASR you can get that's either good or junk, lol. Never bothered to learn the number because there are far too many others to be had. You can get into a good MAK-90 for under $600 you just have to be willing to sit and wait. And just like Smith was saying the vz58 is awesome unfortunately everything on it is proprietary.

Ain't it the truth. The best money spent last time I attended the "fire hall" show was the breakfast I took in before arriving. While I did pick up a rare rifle there many many moons ago I'm hesistant about donating to it again. Pigeon Forge show sounds like the sports card shows they use to hold there. Everyone is scattered throughout the mall and deals are few and far between.

Guess Silvers Price Game - Win a Free Silver Eagle
FUJIMO replied to JeffsSig's topic in General Chat
$42.50 -
Sure there will be overpriced stuff just as there is at EVERY single show you attend but you just have to look past that. There's usually some pretty good deals to be had depending on what you define as a "deal". The crowd was impressive last time me and a fellow TGO'er attended. Be sure and watch for the pinhooker that repetitively uses "whatcha got there neighbor" or "hey neighbor". If you get bored you can stand outside and watch him sprint from one side of the parking lot to the other hoping for that pinhooker payday. But it is the meadow view show at Kingsport and I will be there with bells on.

For anyone interested in attending I have the dinner tickets and raffle tickets (for the AK & 1911) IN HAND. I always try and help out Tom and the others that put this show on. For those of you that haven't been: The $35 dinner ticket gets you a buffet style meal usually containing 2 meats, several veggies to choose from, dessert, salad, and a choice of water, tea, or coffee to drink. You are also automatically entered to win an EAA EZ 9mm but you must be present to win this. All transfers are done by Sevier Indoor Range and they do an excellent job at getting you checked and on your way. The raffle tickets I have are for a chance to win a NodakSpud AK or a Spingfield Armory 1911 .45. You have 3 ways to buy this year. A single ticket is $4, or buy 3 tickets for $10, or buy 7 tickets for $20. Both guns will be raffled off so you basically have 2 chances to win with every ticket. Plus you don't have to be there to win (Although you will have to travel to Sevier Indoor Range to see Wayne and register your gun) There will also be games to play where you win tickets and those are drawn out later for a chance to win a prize. Some of the prizes will be firearms but all are usually firearm related. There will also be an auction with a wide array of items some of which are donated by area shops. Looking at the brochure I was given here are some of the guns that will be there to be won through the games or bid on through the auction. NodakSpud AK ( raffle tickets) Springfield 1911 (raffle tickets) EAA EZ (Dinner Ticket) Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 NRA Logo Kahr Arms CW9093 9mm NRA Logo Savage 93R17 .17 HMR NRA Logo Taurus M44 Tracker .44 mag NRA Logo Ruger M77 Hawkeye 7mm-08 NRA Logo Weatherby PA-459 12 gauge pump NRA Logo 1911 Colt .45 NRA Centennial Edition (freaking SWEET !!) Items in the auction include something for all ages. From a limited Case knife, deer blind, shooting rest or NRA duffle for you, to a nice set of mounted antlers or some exclusive artwork for your wife to hang in the den , to a limited Red Ryder bb gun , beeman air rifle, or NRA custom trike for your lil' one. P.M. me if you're interested and want to meet up to purchase a dinner ticket or if you want to enter to win the AK or 1911 and don't want to attend the dinner.

Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Show - Feb 5 & 6 Knoxville
FUJIMO replied to lacon's topic in Events and Gatherings
Definitely going to attend this one. I always throw my support behind a gun show that actually focuses on guns ( imagine that !! )
