  1. Way too little information given to make a clear judgement IMO. And knowing how reporters can twist what they want I doubt the truth will ever be found.
  2. That's pretty bada**
  3. After reading the way Mike .357 described the scenario I can TOTALLY see the reporter making every attempt to throw themselves right in front of the laser (and of course the gun it's attached to) . Maybe even try and stare into it for some potential vision loss.
  4. Agreed. Also, try getting a large coffee at noon in a quick mart and check out the looks from the cashier, lol.I broke out in a flop sweat while drinking it but felt a lot cooler afterward.
  5. Saturday is usually I better day for this show. Or at least that's what I've found.
  6. And all along I thought it was because Patrick Swayze had better looking hair than Terry Funk
  7. WOW
  8. I never thought I'd say this but THAT'S LESS THAN A SAIGA, lol. Curses, never wanted to say that.....
  9. I have heard they might try to expand to 2 shows a year but as of now I imagine it will next year.
  10. By the way, there's someone out there that makes a PLUG for the crossbolt and if you never handled a Marlin you wouldn't know what use to be there. It's that smooth and nice.
  11. I'm not saying that path is for everyone. And I'm not saying that's something I've done on every lever I have. But if someone is having trouble getting past it mentally, just like plastic surgery, "we can fit that", lmao. Honestly I'd love to have the money and patience to capture every rifle on my list in pre safety fashion. Trouble with that is some of the best rifles, at least on the collector side of things, are being made now or have been made since the 1983 cb addition. But it all works out because very few of them in the "collector" category get shot anyway
  12. There is always the option of just putting "the fix" on a Marlin with the cb safety and being done with it. Where there's a will there's a way !
  13. Well I am glad there is a company out there that's always looking to try something new and different. I will wait until their semi auto platform in this gun arrives
  14. I for one would LOVE to have one in my safe. I do enjoy the 7.62 platform
  15. FUJIMO

    I lucked up!

    NICE
  16. I just mentioned the golden boy 22 because MrBrian said he wanted a shooter/collector and while the blued versions are great I don't consider those as much as a collector piece as the GB models. But I wouldn't kick either out of the safe
  17. I just can't SEE it , lol. I guess it's because I ain't su-fist-i-cated enuff, hahaha
  18. After a real quick Google search I wouldn't want to spend any major money (firearm purchase) before I established a connection with a real human on the other end.Seems several have asked the same question about them all the way back to 2007.
  19. That's not an accident, lol. We believe a gun show should only have, well, GUNS !That's one reason I renew my membership with them every year. It's worth the extra money to have a great show in a great location than to have a small gun show mixed inside a Chinese bazaar. Hey Garufa, you ever empty your p.m. box ? Tried to send you a p.m. after the last Knox show and it said you weren't taking any more visitors, hah !
  20. When: August 27 & 28, 2011 Where: Jubilee Banquet Facility (Our last show was held here) 6700 Jubilee Center Way Knoxville, TN 37912 I would get there early as last time the crowd got heavy quick and parking was chaos. I am still kicking myself for missing out on a matching International Harvester M1 Garand.
  21. I guess it all depends on how much you plan on shooting it MrBrian. The cost of ammo will weigh in on anything bigger than a .22 . And if you choose 22 then it would be pretty hard to beat a golden boy Henry. I myself am a Marlin man through and through but it will be hard to find a "collector" grade Marlin 22 lever for what you can buy a new Henry for.
  22. that's REAL nice OS
  23. I second the bike flag idea and add that it can also aid in solo hookups for a small investment. 2 flags, 2 plastic poles with a great deal of flex (think big rig antenna) and 2 hi strength magnets. I originally saw it in use at a buddy's house. After one too many times of backing his truck into and up & over the tongue of his boat trailer he invented a little helper. By attaching a flag to a cb antenna and then threading that down into an old speaker magnet he could place one on his tongue and one on his hitch right in front of the ball. When the 2 flags almost touched he knew he was there. Redneck version of a backup camera but it works ! And 56FordGuy is right on with the towing "cradle". I was told many years ago by a cross country boat transporter to do the same thing. After having one plow pavement and then kick back up and attempt to ramp over his truck he started practicing the same style hookup. It's one of those things that makes complete sense but never occured to me, lol.
  24. For me the lever represents all the western movies burned into my brain, lol. All the heroes who saved the day using one and the bad guy being took down with one. Its that anticipated rack with an empty casing being tossed into the air as a small puff of smoke follows and knowing that next one will be the one that counts. And while most calibers are available in several platforms nowadays, there's just some that are "lever worthy" Lmao.
