  1. WOW. Ive always had great luck with rentals. I guess I'm just living right
  2. I will do that. I know there are several TGO members in my neck of the woods that could be persuaded with lunch or a frosty beverage to perform such a task
  3. So I should hunt for 7.62 x 51 specifically ? Low power ? The metal has most of the black paint, the wood looks original and not coated.
  4. Recovering from surgery as we speak. Not to pry but where are you having it done and by who ?
  5. Fair enough. Maybe someone on here's took the plunge and will chime in about it.
  6. It's like you're right here with me, lol. That's 100% the case then. So what do I do about the paint ? Break it all down and use paint stripper ? Or a less abrasive approach ?
  7. First, if this is in the wrong forum please feel free to kick it to where it belongs and accept my apologies So I now have a Enfield Ishapore in my possession and need some input. From my inspection the bore is beautiful, all the numbers match including mag, the wood isn't as bad as some I've seen but isn't mint, and the whole thing looks like someone took a rattle can of black to it and it's now flaking off. The entire action appears to be caked with cosmoline. Stamped with a crown, then RIFLE, then 7.62 2A1 R.F.I. 1966. From my research this is a 308 and according to where you look a fairly accurate rifle. So my question is what loads should I seek out to fire out of this rifle ? Everything looks sound but I've been tricked before and having something blow up in your face is not something you want occurring on a regular basis, lol. I really have zero use for it and it will probably be sold or traded down the road but I also don't believe in having something I don't have ammo for. And after seeing chatter about some long distance shots with open sights I'd kinda like to try that. Who knows, maybe it will grow on me and find a permanent home. Any and all help appreciated.
  8. I am of the belief the NFL has become the modern day WWE, lmao
  9. It being winter I'm usually good at the half gallon mark per day but with this wacky weather has me stopping at 32 oz. a day. According to the calculator I'm just over my daily at 32 ounces and WAY over at my normal. However they say it will take around 85 cups to kill me , lol, so no worries.
  10. I agree with Sam1, I like it
  11. I have 5 pieces of husky equipment, 2 are saws and all run with precision. Had a good jonesered too, fwiw.
  12. Just your normal holiday uptick of dumba$$es .
  13. Thanks for posting garufa. that's pretty neat.
  14. Our own little piece of Chi town right here in the south !
  15. I can't advise on pellet consumption as I have a traditional/competition style wood/coal smoker, however, I would add a +1 to going slightly larger than you'll think you need. Regarding consumption, I can reduce my consumption by adjusting airflow, finding the "hot spot" in the cooking chamber and adjusting the smoked item accordingly, or extending the cook time.
  16. As a collector of levers I will say that while I'm happy to hear that Remington finally got their act together on the Marlin levers it's unfortunate that so many "attempts" are out there floating around in the secondary market. I've collected for a while so everything I have is JM stamped, pre buyout, and several are pre cross bolt safety, but that doesn't mean I don't look when I see one priced decently. Usually that means the owner is trying to pass the issue on to a new unsuspecting buyer. The pics you posted look like traditional Marlin so that and the positive feedback renew my hopes they got all the issues worked out !
  17. The call is what I was referring to. I've never had them not call it into Nashville
  18. I was needing confirmation of when the powers that be start up their business day in Nashville. I have to go pick up something that requires a background check and while the shop opens at 9 here in the east I wasn't sure if they started running checks at 8 or 9 in central time.
  19. Glad your wife was nowhere near the scene regardless if it were a pellet gun or otherwise.
  20. According to the latest news report it was a pellet gun that was drawn! Dang brilliant move by the perp, lol.
  21. I would wrap it in another layer of cardboard as suggested or i have even used paper bags (kraft paper) to cover the original box and ship it that way. If memory serves me usps asks that nothing on the box details what's inside. I always ship usps priority with insurance and signature confirmation and I've never had an issue.
  22. Announced in the last hour, Coach Pat Summitt has passed. RIP
  23. THIS
  24. Heck I'm here and still can't manage to grab it, lol
  25. Is it an accomplishment if you die in the process ? I'm sticking with vegans can't do everything...
