Agreed! I kept checking the score online, but didn't watch until about midway thru the 4th qtr.  I read stuff online like "this game is over"...."no team has overcome this large of a deficit"... "no QB has won 5 Superbowls."  I thought to myself, "here comes Brady to make history" and wow...what a shocker...  This is like the Cubs coming back from 3 games down. :squint:

I am of the belief the NFL has become the modern day WWE, lmao

  2. It being winter I'm usually good at the half gallon mark per day but with this wacky weather has me stopping at 32 oz. a day. According to the calculator I'm just over my daily at 32 ounces and WAY over at my normal. However they say it will take around 85 cups to kill me , lol, so no worries.

  3. I can't advise on pellet consumption as I have a traditional/competition style wood/coal smoker, however, I would add a +1 to going slightly larger than you'll think you need. Regarding consumption, I can reduce my consumption by adjusting airflow, finding the "hot spot" in the cooking chamber and adjusting the smoked item accordingly, or extending the cook time.

  4. As a collector of levers I will say that while I'm happy to hear that Remington finally got their act together on the Marlin levers it's unfortunate that so many "attempts" are out there floating around in the secondary market. I've collected for a while so everything I have is JM stamped, pre  buyout, and several are pre cross bolt safety, but that doesn't mean I don't look when I see one priced decently. Usually that means the owner is trying to pass the issue on to a new unsuspecting buyer.

The pics you posted look like traditional Marlin so that and the positive feedback renew my hopes they got all the issues worked out !

I could be wrong but i think as long as you dont need it to be called in you can run one anytime. I have bought from Academy as soon as they opened and have bought as late as 9pm.

The call is what I was referring to. I've never had them not call it into Nashville

  6. I was needing confirmation of when the powers that be start up their business day in Nashville.

I have to go pick up something that requires a background check and while the shop opens at 9 here in the east I wasn't sure if they started running checks at 8 or 9 in central time.

  7. I would wrap it in another layer of cardboard as suggested or i have even used paper bags (kraft paper) to cover the original box and ship it that way. If memory serves me usps asks that nothing on the box details what's inside.

I always ship usps priority with insurance and signature confirmation and I've never had an issue.

I've read through a lot of material related to Muhammad Ali over the years and have my own personal opinion of the man.He was an exceptional showman and gifted athlete. Beyond that I'll say nothing else as he's now dead and gone.

    THIS :)

  9. In thinking about this, who is going to want to pay a boat load of money for a gun used to kill someone in a controversial shooting?

He claimed The Smithsonian wanted the gun and they were quick to say they haven't been in touch with him and have no interest at all in the gun.

I see an anti gun group buying it up before a collector with bottomless pockets would buy it. Whoever gets it rest assure it will continue to gain coverage
  10. When I safety check a weapon and show the person it's empty, and they still check it when it's in their hands, I smile and feel better.
Glad it turned out without a bad ending and thanks for sharing. None of us can ever be too careful.

Same here . I've schooled several relatives and family members on guns and while I'm no expert in tactical manuvers my lecture covering clearing a weapon and never pointing it at someone in jest will remind you of that video of Hitler speaking to the Nazi party :) I tend to go Doyle Hargraves pretty quickly over those type of antics.

  11. Glad no one was injured.
A teachable moment for sure. But having the sac to own up to it on here says a lot too.

I don't care who you are, you hand me a gun and I clear chamber or check for clear chamber. If that offends you oh well. Better your ego be shattered than me or YOU shot.
