Randy Boyd's father is building some kind of hobbit land in South Knoxville called "Ancient Lore Village" with over 150 homes and treehouses based on his Tolkien knock-off book The Bobbins – Outcast to the Inner Earth:lol:

Do we not already have enough weirdos visiting this area ?

When this all started a lot of the people I worked with ask “What is the gun show loophole?” because they assumed you already had to do a background check to buy a gun. Some of them even owned guns and assumed because they did it when they bought their new gun; that everyone has to do it. When I explained how it worked; most of them said they thought a background check was a good idea.

It isn’t going to impact me one way or the other (other than added cost if they don't make it free); I’m against it because it will do nothing. It will not stop one criminal or mass shooter from getting a gun if they want one.

I tend to lean more toward Newton's 3rd law 😁

Sure, here’s the FOX News poll; I figure they are probably the least likely to word the questions to put their own spin on it, or just outright lie.

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-voters-favor-gun-measures-doubt-congress-will-act

If you look at some of the other polls, Gallop, CNN, etc.; they are even higher. Some of the polls even asked if guns should be registered with the local Police and claim 70% said YES.

It’s going to take a lot for the states to stop the Feds from requiring BC on private sales. If they also want to create a registry; they will have problems getting that passed. (I think. But I could be very wrong.)

I am surprised, even though I guess I really shouldn't be. The liberal slant with that poll must have been out of sight. And phrasing it juuuust right to a bunch of non gun owning, up and coming metoo morons didn't hurt either.

I get it, the whole country doesn't love guns and the rights to have them as much as little ol me. However, if I were stopped tomorrow on the street and asked to answer a poll of which I neither knew anything about nor could give a rats azz about I would simply say no thanks and move on.

    That is Gunrunners...

Indian Springs Armory is pretty decent. Not bought much there though.

Thanks for the clarification. I've never had time to stop in and check out their used but not abused lineup but as early as I go through I'd imagine they aren't open anyway

I’ve traded there before but tend to hit Gun Rack or Gunslingers in Kingsport most of the time. Thanks for keeping an eye out!

Only one in your area I've tried to spend money at was Volunteer in Bristol ? I think its called Volunteer anyways. I've seen Gunslingers off the side of the interstate on my way north. Big azz tommy gun on the bldg I think lol

I was REALLY wanting to go get a 1911. Posted on here and got great info (thank you), read online and was ready to go make it happen.

Went to the gun store today. Someone was blocking the 1911 section so I looked at the used handguns while waiting. In the bottom corner of the case, I saw a HK USP45. Since I had never held one, I figured, why not. It was all over from there.

Maybe next time I’ll get a 1911 but I couldn’t walk away from this one. Pretty sure it has never been shot or certainly not much. Currently configured like a 1911- single action only with safety. Off to the range tomorrow!

I'd been keeping a lookout for you in our area and even closer up your way but nothing I'd own for the price they listed it at. Glad to hear you brought something nice home anyway. Was it Mahoneys you go to up there ?

"In communities across America, courageous survivors, families and young advocates are showing outstanding courage and persistence in demanding an end to the horrific scourge of gun violence in our nation. It is an honor to join Congressman Mike Thompson and former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords to answer their call by taking the first step to pass commonsense background checks – which 97 percent of the American people support."

Are you effing kidding me ????

Then let them tie a gun registry to the BC bill; it won’t pass.

Guns are traced every day that didn’t go through paperwork. If they need a trace bad enough they start with the first dealer and follow the path. When they get to you; you are going to give them my information pretty quick.

Bingo. We have a system now that works when we need it to. Clearly they had no issue tracking the weapons of these mass murders with their evil semi-bump-full-semi assault weapons back the source with the current system. But it would be a GD wet dream for that scarecrow named Pelosi and the rest of those idiots, rep and dem alike,  to have on file everything you have that they consider harmful. Where does "for the better good" end and invasion of privacy and infringement on my rights begin?

No, if they require a transfer and you don’t do it; you both should be worried.

This is not the first time I have seen this tied to a gun registry. I just am curious how or why someone is making that leap?? I don’t see how it would require a registry, or have anything to do with guns you have at the time the law went into effect.

I’m not arguing; I’m asking. Maybe I’m missing something here.

No argument here. Worried about what though? If a gun exchange hands privately and said gun is registered to neither person how do they prove it exchanged hands in the first place ?

I think I would feel better about selling a gun to a stranger, a neighbor, a friend, a relative that I knew was legal (Background Check Legal for what that is worth) VS selling to one of those above I THOUGHT was OK.

I had to get a background check when I bought mine - what the heck, no big deal.

It's not the BGC that bothers me, it's all that statistical information they could use against you later on that I don't like. I enjoy privacy and being left the hello alone

  11. There's a form on the site Davetn linked that handles that. Take the family member who's gifting the vehicle with you and explain what you're doing. It's easier in person than trying to Google all the answers. Ask me how I know :)

After the first of the year, I’m looking to pick up a entry level (~$500) 1911. It will be purely for range use as I prefer DAO for my carry weapons. It should go without saying but, it needs to be in .45–Any suggestions?

I’ve had a Taurus in the past and it was pretty solid but I didn’t like that some of the parts weren’t interchangeable with traditional 1911 components.

Oh, the less obnoxious the slide markings, the better. I’m a bit of a minimalist when it comes to logos and such.

    Thanks!

Are we talking 500 new or 500 used @Parrothead

Their stuff looks really nice.  Where are you seeing a lifetime warranty?  I haven't located that, and even on high end apparel, that seems surprising on clothing.

In their policies page. I've wore their stuff for years but never exercised their policy because I felt I wore it out rather than have it "fail" on me. I read their policy that same way but some people like to push the issue.

I hope the hipster movement don't raise prices beyond what I've always been willing to pay.

  14. I too was in a cord coma for a long time all while the closest thing I have to a brother kept telling me to go get a 1/2" milwaukee fuel impact and it will change your life. Boy was he ever right. I own about $2k worth of their fuel line tools and Im anxiously awaiting their chainsaw and pole saw. I haven't found anything their impacts won't tackle. I will say their string trimmer takes 2nd place when comparing it to dewalts. But even then the fuel trimmer is far ahead of the rest out there.
