  1. That's odd. You may have had model without that feature or a defective set. The not cutting out of low level noise is actually listed as feature.
  2. I have the Howard Leight Impact Sports as well. I admit they are a great value. However, the one thing I don't like about them is that the electronic filter cuts out during live fire so you get continuous interruptions when trying to talk to somebody. It's like someone is hitting a mute button on and off constantly. I still have them, but have switched over to the Peltor Tactical Sports which do not have the above mentioned issue.
  3. $45? Yeah no thanks. I'll buy a pair of Mechanix for under $20.
  4. Congrats. Now you can watch your money fly out the door on AR parts and accessories [emoji3]
  5. I agree. If you're just using it in normal conditions it's probably not an issue at all. The part that sucks is that the company was shady and covered the issue up for years. Can't see the brand really surviving the lawsuit intact in the consumer market, and now way in hell the gov't ever uses their sights again.
  6.   I actually just picked up an MRO. Hoping to get to the range to try it out in the next week or so.
  7. http://soldiersystems.net/2015/11/24/us-government-sues-l3-communications-for-fraud-involving-eotech-sights/ This has been brewing for a while now so not surprised they're getting sued. Bet Aimpoint and Trijicon are pretty happy at the moment
  8. Damn, that is a shame. Good people that work there and a great gun shop. Hope they catch the bastards.
  9.   Yeah that's where I'm at too. I always ponder getting some form of M9, but never actually buy one. I like this new one, but there's now way I like it at $1100. I'd buy a SIG or HK or something else for that money. If you're a Beretta guy, I can understand that price if you REALLY want one.    Probably will be able to grab one on GunBroker for hundreds less in a few months...
  10. Yep, I agree.
  11. I agree. In the long run, the only way to really put a lid on this is for people of group 1 to say enough is enough and rise up against it. The western countries could put together a coalition (and they may) and start military action, but fact of the matter is that you can't just bomb an ideology out of existence. You can certainly set them back with it, but can't eliminate it. The other issues is that these terrorists don't give two sh*ts about dying themselves, so shear force doesn't deter them. The world needs to get its head out its ass real quick to deal with this.
  12. Yeah that's what I was getting at. Once rounds start flying their way the dynamic changes completely. The outgunned aspect, at least from my perspective, was solely based on the armament these douche bags had. Apparently they had AK's, grenades, explosives vests etc. From that aspect a civilian carrying a pistol would certainly be "outgunned".
  13. Yeah definitely agree with outgunned aspect, but even if one or two people start shooting back it changes the game completely. It would have at the least diverted the terrorists attention from killing innocent people to defending themselves. May have let more people get out alive. No way to ever know for sure, of course, but seems a likely scenario.
  14. https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/boston-bans-guns-toy-guns-that-is/ And this folks is what makes me very glad I left Boston and Massachusetts in general to move down here. The antis will stop at no end in their never ending quest to ban the very idea of guns.
  15. Yes I heard good things on him as well. I may try him next time. FWIW, I just got my upper back from Jeff and he did a great job.
  16. I agree that sucks if it's true. Really his only recourse is litigation with a good patent attorney. Some may have taken on his case free if they thought it was a slam dunk, but maybe it's hard to defend the patent of a shape (e.g. a horseshoe in this case). Anyway, if this site is all its cracked up to be I wouldn't mind saving a few hundred bucks over the Aimpoint equivalent.
  17. Has anyone picked up an MRO recently and have a range report? I've been looking for a small red dot and this one looks promising given its fairly reasonably priced and from Trijicon.
  18. Having just moved here recently we are paying out of pocket and don't qualify for any subsidies. Our rate increased 56% if we keep same plan next year.
  19. I highly recommend the McRib sandwhich from McDonald's. BBQ at its finest. On a serious note, Jim and Nicks in Franklin is OK depending on what you get. I think there is a place called Moe's if recall that was also pretty good (also in franklin).
  20. Correct, you grip the gun and give a little twist towards your body as you draw. Some people whine about it, but believe me it's not that bad after practicing it 10 or 20 times. And yes, they really ARE that comfortable.
  21. The N82 Tactical Professional is super comfortable and has an adjustable cant: https://www.n82tactical.com/products/holsters/
  22. I have been using a Crossbreed Minituck for my G43. It works great but a little on the pricey side. Aliengear equivalent would get you similar results for a little less money.
  23. I'd love to ditch cable. Having recently moved to the area, I now remember why I hate Comcast. Way too expensive and horrible customer service. Also, while I was also getting ripped off by Verizon Fios, at least the service was good and the Fios internet is outstanding. I've found the issue with ditching cable is that once you unbundle they pretty bend you over for standalone services like internet. Are there any reasonable providers that offer good internet speeds without paying $75/month or up?
