I really enjoy mine. Tikka CTR's have excellent factory barrels, triggers and smooth actions. -

As I wait for the reloading components industry to catch-up with demand, I wanted to check if anyone has some new 7x57 Mauser brass they would consider selling. Knowing the generous chambers out their for this cartridge, I would prefer to start with new and not fired brass. This is for my Ruger M77 with a commercial chamber. The only product currently available is by Prvi Partizan. I recently returned 100 pc. to the company because they would not eject. They confirmed the batch is out of spec and is returning my money. I appreciate their customer service. With that said, I have had no problem with other brands of brass I have used. Thank you

CZ Scorpion carbine barrel nut tool. Fixed!
tgtmasterchuck replied to Randolphsg's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have a CZ Scorpion as well. Do you mind me asking why you needed to remove the barrel? What modification(s) did you make? -
My intended use is for 150 yards or less on whitetail’s, coyotes and groundhog’s. More than likely, it will visit the range more than the field to work-up a good 100 gr. Hornady BTSP like I used years ago in a Remington 788. It was a real dear sleigher. Does anyone have a favorite 95-100 grain bullet they use in a .243 Winchester? The 9.25:1 twist rate in a Remington shoots heavy bullets well.

Any recommendations for a good scope for an (1998 production) Remington Model Seven Stainless in .243 Winchester? I am leaning toward a matt Leupold Freedom 2-7x33 or Leupold Vx3i 2.5-8x36. I could also use recommendations for base and rings. If anyone has one they would like to sell, let me know that as well. Thank you!

Has anyone purchased Concealed Carry Insurance? I am curious what you think about it.

It’s good to see someone using coated bullets in 9mm. I am working up a load using Alliant’s new Sport Pistol powder and Acme 124 gr. coated bullets. This powder was developed for coated bullets and references this bullet manufacture by name. I won’t get a chance to shoot them soon; but, when I do I will let you know how they do. I have loaded a similar bullet using Unique. I seem to recall a load around 4.5 grains. Don’t quote me and do your own research.

I am sorry about the delay responding. I have been out. This is very helpful information. I currently load a 124 gr. JHP with 5.2 gr. of Unique . This load chronographed 1,100 fps from my VP9. The limited amount of load data I have been able to find so far ranges from 4.1 gr. to 6.0 gr. of Unique with a 124 gr. lead bullet. Your 4.3 gr. load sounds like a good load. I have another 1,000 JHP I need to shoot-up before I load this bullet. When I do, I think I will load up 10 each of 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 gr. for the chronograph and accuracy testing. I shoot both traditional rifling handguns and a couple of Kahr's and a VP9 with polygonal rifling. I hope to use this bullet for both types of barrels. I appreciate you taking the time to respond in such detail. It may be this winter before I get around to this. I wanted to shoot with my daughter today; but, it was too hot. We will try again soon.

Hello forum! Does anyone have a favorite 9 mm load using a 124 gr. lead cast coated bullet and Unique? I am looking at the ACME Bullet version. Any 124 gr. or 125 gr. coated lead cast bullet data would help.I know I'm old school using Unique. I have a good stock of it and I like it in my .38 Special, .44 Special and .45 ACP. http://www.acmebullet.com/bullets-reloading-brass/9MM-Lead-Cast-Reloading-Bullets?product_id=424

Thanks to everyone for your input. I have been getting some advice from the Cast Boolits forum. Not so much load examples as loading technique. My RCBS seater mangles the nose of the bullet. I stopped loading after a few rounds. Advice so far is to increase my bell to accommodate the softer bullet (I have only loaded FMJ's so far) and try using a 9mm seater (in the attempt to find a seater shape that more closely matches the bullet). I will provide feedback when I get a chance to load and shoot. leroy, Thank you for the load information. I had been using 4.0 gr. of Unique under a 95 gr. JHP. I planned on starting at 3.6 gr. (-10%) and work my way up. Since these are coated, I think I should be able to increase past 3.6 grains depending on signs of pressure, slide function and accuracy. tgtmaster

Can anyone recommend a brand you have had good luck with? Buying a matching upper and lower sounds like a good idea. Is it necessary? tgtmaster

I have shot both. They are both wonderful guns. I purchased the VP9 for the trigger and accuracy. It fits me. My personal preference. I don't think you can go wrong either way. tgtmaster

I just ordered some SNS Cast Bullets for .380 ACP: 95 grain Lead Round Nose - Polymer Coated Does anyone have experience loading this bullet? If so, what have been your results? Would you share your load data with me? The powder I primarily use is Unique. I have been shooting a 95 gr. FMJ bullet. I anticipate reducing that load by 10% with this Molly Coated bullet unless someone has better data. I have had good luck shooting Molly Coated Bullets in my .45 ACP and decided to give these a try. Thank you!
