  1. SOLD Remington Model Seven SS .243 Winchester 20” Barrel w/ Bell & Carson Stock (Price Updated 09/23) I put this rifle together and have not spent enough time with it. The rifle is basically as it came from the factory with the following modifications: I removed the plastic factory stock and replaced it with a Bell and Carlson Medalist Rifle Stock with Aluminum Bedding System Synthetic in black / gray spiderweb finish. I bedded the lug. This made the rifle feel and shoot a great deal better! It also made it a great looking gun! I replaced the funky lock firing pin assembly with one from Pacific Tool & Guage. Another great upgrade. It has a Leupold VX-Freedom 2-7x33mm Riflescope set on a Leupold Picatinny Base and Warne Rings. I am selling this rifle because it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I also want to fund my first Suppressor purchase. It is all sighted in and ready for hunting this Fall. I live between Bellevue and Franklin, TN. I will only sell to Tennessee residents that are legal to purchase a firearm. Handgun Carry Permit owners and/or TGO members with excellent feedback. I meet all these criteria as well.
  2. I have this rifle in 7x57 Mauser. It loves long, 162 gr. Hornady bullets. Great Whitetail gun. I bought it 2nd handed a few years after it was manufactured. Doubt I part with it.
  3. Music City Pawn was bought by a large outfit that removed firearms from their offerings. The one in Franklin on Hillsboro Road has some remaining ammo at half price. They don’t have a lot to offer; but one that stood out was .25-06. The original price is $35 a box ($17.50 after discount). I bet someone could make them an offer they would take. There is also some 6.5 CM at the same price. I asked what they did with their firearms inventory. The said the sold it all to another outfit.
  4. PM sent around 1:30 pm.
  5. Thank you. I hoped to find one “in the wild”; but this is a very good retail option.
  6. Wanted: Lever Action .357 Magnum I would like to add a .357 Magnum lever action to my collection. Models I would be interested in are Marlin 1894 or Rossi 92. Blue finish preferred 20” barrel preferred Smooth, uncheckered wood preferred Pre-safety would be a bonus (will consider the premium that comes with this) Non-Remington produced Marlins preferred Used is fine as long as it is in very good condition Within a reasonable distance from Nashville I am not in a hurry. I am not interested in paying retail. In order to avoid this turning into a long debate thread of one model vs. the other, let me know what you have via PM. PS - for the Marlin Collector, I have a Marlin 1894CL in .218 Bee (as new with box - would consider trading with brass and dies) I would consider trading for an as new pre-safety Marlin 1894 in .357 Magnum.
  7. The “bulge” mentioned above reminds me of an issue I ran into years ago. Some of the mixed range brass I picked up would produce a bulge in the case when using heavier bullets. I discovered that the cases in question had a ledge inside the case. I assume the manufacturer had the ledge to prevent bullet set-back under recoil. I separated that brand from my heavy 100 gr. Load and the issue went away. It my not be an issue with lighter bullets.
  8. I find myself shooting so I can reload. That’s how much I enjoy the reloading process. As mentioned above, get a good single stage press. Better yet, several manufacturers offer a “kit” with the basic tools you will eventually need. My recommendation is pursue casting your own projectiles later. After you get the basics of reloading better understood. I have loaded off and on for 30 years and never cast a bullet on my own. I’d like to try it after I retire. My opinion is it may be a little too much to become proficient with all at once. There are several sources out there for good cast bullets. It is good to see someone taking up this fun hobby. Be prepared. It can become an obsession.
  9. Unfortunately, I do not travel with work in that direction. About the closest I would get is Cookeville.
  10. I had not used the Bluetooth appt before. I loaded it tonight. It turns out there are 41 hours on it. I changed the oil after a couple of nights use and again tonight. I used the recommended oil.
  11. I always used non-ethanol gas and it never ran in the rain.
  12. My best guess is under 40 hours. It stayed in the sealed box the first 12-18 months I owned it. I only opened it when we had a power outage. It is in great shape.
