  1. It has typically been with LARGE purses and bags. The new thing is bags larger than 12" x 12" x 12". Come on......
  2. I have been going to football games at Neyland since 63' and cannot tell you how many people have been sent to the first aid center for too much alcohol consumption AND others being hit in the head with the empty bottles. Its going to get it regardless......
  3. FWIW....I did not renew my season tickets this year although I have been a long time supporter. In the past, large bags were subject to search which I also objected. I also don't fly, go to Dollywood, Universal Studios, and other places where I'm subject to search. I do on occasion HAVE to go to the court house and am subjected to search without probable cause.
  4. Here's the rant: It is now policy at University of TN football games that all persons entering the stadium are subject to being searched. Any bag, satchel, purse, etc over 12" x 12" x 12" is free game. Upon reading this in our local liberal newspaper, I was rather upset. Now according to the 4th amendment, we are protected from the UNLAWFUL search & seizure of our property, person, etc without PROBABLE cause. SO, I ask you: If the gate minders at these games want to check you, is it legal? Given this is University property and they make the rules, it is legal? Some say the University is Private property (I know this because I want threatened with arrest while on UT property and was told it was private property) even though it is state funded. So by allowing them to search me, I give up my 4th amendment rights. If I refuse, I am denied entry into the arena and therefore loosing my money on the ticket I purchased. So I ask you my fellow TGO'ers, how far do we take our 4th amendment rights. We cannot say certain words, call people certain names, say things which might be offensive to others - a prohibition of our 1st amendment rights, our 2nd amendment rights are under attack, so just how far do we take this? I posted on another platform and the feel gooders said it made them feel warm and fuzzy that people were getting searched. Some quoted the Patriot Act to which I told them to READ the Patriot Act. Maybe my arteries are starting to harden and I'm just getting cranky, maybe I'm just being rebellious in my middle age, maybe I'm just starting to see how our rights are being slowly stripped away, maybe I need to increase my dosage on my mood altering medication. Thanks for reading.....all comments welcome FCFB
  5. My card(s) have been compromised several times after an On-line purchase. So far, like you, I'm out nothing but a few days without it. Now if my credit rating starts to dive........that's a different ballgame..
  6. Me too.....I use to not take naps during the day, but now there's nothing like it, especially on Saturday or Sunday afternoon when you have nothing to do.......or should I say - nothing you want to do! My dad would say he's watching TV with his eyes closed......
  7. I am not a mechanic, however, its their job to "sell you" service. They simply suggest things that "need/should" be done and the power of suggestion takes over. No one wants to neglect their vehicle. Your first mistake was taking it to the dealer for an oil change. Plenty of other good places to have the oil changed. IMHO, stay away from the dealers.....
  8. Thats what my girlfriend said......
  9. Welcome to the sight. Been collecting since you were 1? Started young....way to go!
  10. Once all the "good peeps" move out of Kali, then the zombie take over will begin...........That's why Arnold didn't want to be gubner again, he wanted to fight the zombies.
  11. Armstrong's not one of my favorites. Went to school with him, don't know what happened, he must have smoked too much weed and it has affected his thoughts. I think the mint box of him is better than the mint box of Obama! Way to go mint company........you got your sales way up. Want to boost your sales? Make something politically incorrect and the lefty's will help you grow your biz.....
  12. Goddard Guttering - RLI Roofing - Keep in mind most roofers/guttering people/siding people are slammed due to the storm damage couple months ago. Most "Good" company's will be backed up. I would recommend either of the above listed company's. I've been doing home repairs/renovations a long time and these are two good company's. Check with Suntzu, he's a supt. with a construction company and might be able to offer up a few more suggestions.
  13. Its called the liberal news media.......all are slanted, all report via there own opinions and we know what opinions are like.......
  14. Since I have opted to return to the remodeling/repair biz....working outside is just part of it. HOWEVER, after having an inside desk job for over 30 years, returning to the great outdoors is a bear!!!! I sweat like crazy and the heat is murder. I must be getting old. But as most of you have said, it is somewhat hotter than normal and yes Al Gore has something to do with it.
  15. I have used a tens unit for almost 35 yrs off and on. The theory behind it is that is sends pain signals to the brain to distract it from the original pain, kinda like self hypnosis. These units regardless of how they work, WORK. My favorite part is when I'm wearing it in hot weather and sweat rolls down my back onto the charged pads. ZZZZZZIIIIIITTTTTT, ZZZZZZZIIIIIIITTTTTT, woo hoo, woo hoo, people do tend to look at you rather funny. I opted for the knife years ago, I've had no adverse reactions except that one time....no wait, that was something else. Be very mindful of what you do and how you do it. The slightest out of normal thing will send you into intense pain. Live with it as long as you can, then see a "good" ortho doc and discuss options. Exercise those muscles, heat/cold, tens, crown black. That advise from Dr. Fatboy didn't cost you a penny......
  16. is the proprietor a guy about 50ish, balding, walks with a cane? I played baseball and went to school with a Chris Bayless.....Just askin
  17. the mere fact you have ended your sentence with "eh" tells me you have some origin(s) north of the border, am I right? Just kidding........lets start a thread on things we find offensive...........eh?
  18. This one wins the eBay ad of the year award, freakin hilarious......
  19. Forum titles "General Interest". I have a general interest in helping the OP find a good welder. Lincoln is my brand, go to your local welding shops and ask what would be best for you with what you want to do, most guys will be happy to offer their advise. BTW, anybody know where I can find a alternator bracket for a 97, 2L, 2 wheel drive, Aerostar van?
  20. FWIW: It's not that far, I drive it everyday. You could drive to that store and then go over to Coal Creek Armory and visit those guys. Two gun shops in one day, both in same section of town, within mile or two of each other, both sell guns......you save gas, win/win.
  21. Didn't know they had a Knoxville store, however, its very convenient since I buy my paint at Sherwin Williams and love to eat at Sam & Andy's. My office is just down the street behind David's Carpets.......there is a God after all..........
  22. So this raises a very good question: When an older women snags a younger man she's called a cougar and she's praised/lauded by her peers, etc. When an older man snags a younger woman he's called a perv....." What's up with that? Now I must admit 16 is a bit young, but this chick looks anything but 16!
