  1. Well, um, yep.  I asked my ? poorly John.  Has anyone used the reduced power springs and had any problem with light primer strikes? I've read on yes and no on Arfcom and M4 carbine.  i don't know those folks and don't trust the many responses. I'm gonna shoot it  and see.  I installed the parts after my last post and I really can't tell a difference dry firing it. the reset problem is still gone though.
  2. One of our members that happens to be a friend of mine ( Bonedaddy ) just up and gave me a complete J P Enterprises FCG with the yellow reduced power springs for a 3.5 lb pull and it has two black springs that appear to be standard. There is no mention of the black springs in the instructions. I'm a bit concerned though because the instructions state that use of foreign or NATO spec ammo with " low sensitivity primers" may not fire using the reduced power springs. My stash consists of Wolf steel case and Federal XM855 in the green ammo can. The hammer is not the bobbed speed hammer. What say you, AR Gurus?
  3. Thanks to Nicky. Glad you got your FCG back. Enjoy that Sammich!

  5. Good deal. My Rock G.I. rocks.  You got a damn good price on that tactical.
  6. I see it now. That's a shadow caused by less than stellar photog skills.
  7. Bottom pic ? Trigger or disconnect area ?
  8. Where the hammer is engaged by the trigger is cut much neater on the hammer that fixed the problem. Other than that I can't tell anything different about the two.
  9. I got the FCG Nicky sent. Popped in his hammer on top of my trigger and disconnect. Problem solved. Here are some crappy pics. My hammer is on the bottom in the first and on the right in the second.
  10. Nothing was dinked with. No one has had possession of this rifle except me and I didn't  ever do anything to the FCG beyond disassembly in order to learn how it works and be able to remove it for cleaning if necessary.  Nicky is gonna send me a complete FCG and I'll swap parts around and see what I can find out.  We shall see.
  11. The set screw in the grip hole has got me thinking. No, there is no set screw there but i did replace the grip with a Hogue. Could it maybe be screwed in too far and cause this ?   Edit:   Nope. Backed the screw out two turns.  No change.
  12. Y'all are some good people. I can order a hammer from PSA for $24 and see if it helps. I got the disconnecter from them.
  13. Yes it's my only AR. It's no hassle at all to me to remove and replace the FCG. Easy peasy really. The hammer is my next suspect as well.
  14. The springs are correct Mac.
  15. Disconnecter finally arrived. No change, hammer still falling on a slow re-set.
  16. I bought this 30-30 new last summer. Manufactured in November 2013. Wood to metal fit is good, finish is matte, not blued and is even. Screws are not marred up like I've heard about in the past. The pressed checkering is shallow and looks cheap. The action is pretty smooth, no sand in this one. Accuracy is really darn good.
  17. Spring was installed correctly .
  18. Off topic but Happy Birthday.
  19. I'll break it down this weekend and check.
  20. I ordered one from Palmetto State. When it comes in I'll update this thread. Your offer  is very much appreciated . Thanks. .
  21. Thank Dolomite. I was hoping to hear from you  sooner or later. More sooner it seems ! I'll order one and try it.  Any preference on whom to buy from or more importantly the maker of the disconnecter ?
  22. Charge the rifle. Pull trigger and hold. Hammer falls. Charge rifle again. Slowly release trigger. Hammer falls.  If I release the trigger quickly the hammer does not fall.  I did this about 20 times releasing the trigger both slow and fast and the results are consistent. Release slow = hammer falls.  Release quick = hammer stays cocked.  The rifle is basically a stock DPMS carbine that I got new. By basically I mean the only changes are a grip and hand guard replacement and I replaced the folding stock with a fixed A2. I'm using the rifle length buffer. NO trigger work has been done. I have disassembled the FCG to clean and learn about it. I'm pretty certain the springs are installed correctly but I have been wrong before. I wanted to run this past you guys before I go tearing it down to look for troubles. The rifle hasn't been through more than 1000 rounds give or take a hundred. I used to run a Stag  6.8 upper on the lower, not much maybe 200 rounds and it did double on me twice with the 6.8 only. Never doubled on 5.56. Thanks for any and all input y'all give.
