  2. Also, Dale Griffin, drummer for rock group Mott The Hoople, has died aged 67. Same day, same age.     http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-35342699
  3. I really hate to hear this. Mr. Rickman may be my favorite hollywood villan ever. Yippe-kay-ay mo********** !
  4. The slide on my Bersa UC 9 will close if I slam a magazine in but it won't on a normal slow insertion while target shooting. I actually consider this a plus in the event I ever get into the probable not gonna happen shoot out.
  5. This is pretty much what I was trying to find out , seems like the .40 is actually alive, well, and maybe even popular.  I've had a PX4 Storm in .40 sitting in my nightstand for years.  14 + 1   165 grain hollow points. It's very accurate, recoil is the same as my .45 . Caliber has nothing to do with it but with the small back strap it fits my hands better than any of my other pistols.
  6. What gun and how do you like the round ?
  7. It's a win in my book. Congratulations.
  8. One of our members works in the Ga store.
  9. Silver solder a gun barrel ?  I'm a plumber with 20 years of experience and I have silver soldered many joints in copper pipe. I have to get the pipe glowing cherry red to get the solder to flow . I'm dumbfounded.
  10. Dog. I'm jealous. I cant recall when I last saw a mini mag.
  11. ISIS may or not attack our schools. If they do armed teachers won't help much but in reality it's been lone gunmen mostly. Columbine and West Side Middle in Arkansas are exceptions rather than the rule. This has been the only threat so far and armed teachers can make a difference in these shootings. These punks tend to eat lead themselves when faced with armed resistance. That is what this is about.
  12. Sometimes my home state makes me proud. I think we all will agree with this.   http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/11/16/classroom-firepower-ohio-teachers-increasingly-pack-heat-on-job/?intcmp=hpbt4
  13. BCBS was granted a 36% rate increase in Tennessee because the law is not working.  They underestimated the cost of premiums needed to cover the cost of actual payout on thier side because the majority of new sign ups in the exchange were older folk that used the insurance and the yunguns are not signing up like the ACA was counting on to basically subsidize  the rates for us older farts.  I have insurance through my job that I pay half of the cost and I can add my wife although it would be full price, a $110 dollars a week. What I can afford for her through the exchange does not cover squat. $5200 0ut of pocket before they pay anything except the wellness freebies mandated. Thank you to Obama and the the democrat congress that passed this burden on the working class on Christmas Eve 2009.
  14. This is truth. If the dealer you traded it to is no longer in business all of his records , (read forms 4473) are required to be turned over to the BATFE.  If they did and they can't find them it isn't your problem.  If they didn't, again not your problem.
  15. DA/SA is my preferred carry option. Hammer down on live round with no need for a safety because of the longer trigger pull. I have 2, a Bersa UC9 and a Beretta PX4. With a little practice they are easy to shoot well.
  16. The constitution does not grant any rights. It recognizes and protects the basic natural rights every person should have.  PJ is right, if you got fired for violating a policy against tobacco use, being too fat or whatever can be covered up by the "at will' employment laws of Tennessee. Any employer in Tennessee that does not show cause for termination cannot deny unemployment benefits either.  But what has this to do with a public official openly stating his / her policy that is clearly a violation of constitutionally  affirmed rights have to do with anything?
  17. I'd like to know why the DA made this rule.
  18. Wow. I've got an old Norinco that is sound mechanically. Needed refinished and a new stock which i did on the cheap. No bayonet or lug for it either. I had no idea Yugo's had an on/off switch for the gas.
  19. There is the rub. The prosecutors don't give up their 2nd amendment rights by working for the DA. They can't have one period under this rule. Permit not withstanding.
  20. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/09/28/district-attorney-on-new-york-long-island-bans-prosecutors-from-owning-guns/?intcmp=hplnws   Not possessing them at work, but out right ownership. Can't have one in the house, can't apply for a carry permit. An exemption can be made supposedly, like they would ever do that.  Can a DA, a lawyer be that stupid to expect this is constitutional ?  I dunno where it's worse, NY or California.
  21. I've read a lot about crappy service from Beretta on the Beretta forum.net.  I have a PX4 that hasn't given me any trouble, I joined the forum after it was gifted to me. Like OS said, they will not pay shipping and they only offer a 2 year warranty. I expect better from the world's oldest gun maker. As far as Sig goes, I have no clue.
  22. Nope.  Strong side carry. IWB in the summer, OWB in cold weather.
  23. Don't blame me. I didn't do anything.
  24. It was pretty pricey IIRC. They have been doing it for years.  $80 or better a head. Welcome to the area, and thanks for your service both of you.
  25. If 70% were egg layers where will the next generation of fryers come from if not from eggs ?
