  1. It does rest all the way back when uncocked. When it's cocked it comes foreward maybe a 1/4 inch and looks more like we are used to. This shotgun has no mods whatsoever.
  2. A judge that actually upheld the United States Constitution !!! This man needs to be be appointed to the SCOTUS.
  3. Aw come on. There are some good extended mag releases for the 10/22 that fixes that problem.
  4. Magazine insertion and removal on AK's does suck. Try practicing inserting and removing an empty mag an hour a night while you watch television. It may help you get accustomed. I have an SKS. No mags, it loads from the top using stripper clips. That took some getting used to and the clips bite also. Rounds fall out of the clips. That being said, if you can't handle it well enough for your liking I'd get something else. I don't blame you because I would.

    Cool new plinker

I agree. I suggest no optics at all until he can riddle a coke can at 50 yards with just the open sights. My humble opinion sir, do what you think is best. More importantly, I thank you and your son for the service to our country. That is what really matters.
  6. Garufa, I most certainly will. My MIL knew this when she gave it to my wife.
  7. This my late fil's Remington sportsman. I't a variant of the model 11. He died 13 years ago, sadly at only 49. This was his father's gun and it may date to the late 1940's. My MIL gave the gun to thier only son . He foolishly kept it cased all those years and never even looked at it. It got a nasty case of rust along the top of the barrel. The rest of it is in great shape. Recently my MIL found out about this and she got so mad she took it and gave it to my wife. I't 12 ga, full chocke and will only hold three 2 3/4 shells.
  8. 4-5 works for me.

    TN CCW...How to?

    Handgun Carry Permits
  10. RUSA would be fine. Too hot to be outdoors. Besides that I don't know of any outdoor ranges since they closed the one at Shelby Farms. Anyone tried the TWRA range in Bartlett? Top Brass here in Millington has no air at all. I went there last weekend and had to step out into the showroom after every few mags to cool off. eap, I bought something else. A Springfield XD.
  11. Lets get another meet together. The last one was fun and meeting new people, conversing and shooting together is more fun than going to the range alone, even if only a few show up. What say you?

    New Sig

Get down with the Sig-ness !
  14. A dummy bomb used on the Nevada test range. Well, I don't own it anymore. I did tn the mid 1980's. That's all I can contribute to this thread.
  15. Thanks Straight Shooter. Cool site. I may be interested in a ghost ring. I'd like to try shooting with one. Desert Rat, this is my schnauzer, Fritz. He thinks he's the shiz around here. The dachshund in the background is Holly. She's a pet rock good only for turning dog food into dog poop. Your beagles are gorgeous. I just realized I hi-jacked my own thread!
  16. She's cute !
  17. I also have a schnauzer, not the one in my avatar but that little turd tries to rule my roost.
  18. Anolog, why do you call this person an EX-Felon ad described in your post? I am not an attorney but from what I understand a felon is a felon. They lose two civil rights I know of. The right to own or possess firearms and the right to vote. Posses means you cannot have one in your house, car, or in your hand at the range. Basically you should not even touch one. Persons convicted of minor felonies can go to court to have these rights restored after spending much money. Any one convicted of the crime of domestic violence is also in this category. This is a misdemeanor that will cost you your right to own/ buy/ possess a firearm of any type. Don't slap your wife or live in girlfriend no matter how mad she makes you. YOU WILL lose your legal right to buy or possess a firearm.
  19. Thanks. I never even thought of nail polish. Gonna have to look thru wifey's collection. Just gotta choose the colors. I love your avatar. I have a beagle.
  20. The white dots on one of my pistols are in need of touching up and I began to wonder if another color might be better so I thought I'd ask if anyone here had done so. I'm also considering outlining the rear sight and doing away with the front dot . I am not even remotely interested in replacing the sights. I don't have the money. It goes towards ammo and range time. Thanks
  21. I'd prefer walnut grips and a black trigger. I'm not downing your taste but the white on the grips made me go OMG!
  22. They also did a 2 for 1 on range time. I shot free because it was my first time there and they charged eapking 1/2 price because we shared a lane. I'm gonna check out the TWRA range on Brother Blvd in Bartlett. I've been told it's nice and it's not as busy and cheaper. $8.50 for one on a lane or $12.50 for two . Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Firing Ranges
  23. I asked yo about Glocks, didn't like the grip. eapking let me shoot his M&P 9mm at the Memphis call to arms and I thought I found the one I wanted. Then I tried out an XP9. I'ts the one . It feels as good, handles as well and shoots as straight as the Smith does for me but it has one feature that sold me on it.....the grip safety. Like I said in my Glock thread, I'm old school and never liked the idea of a hammmerless auto. I want to see the hammer down or a safety engaged (1911 cocked & locked} when holstering my gun. My fear was that one slip of trigger finger discipline could make my day go bad real quick. I know the XD is available with a thumb safety, I'm sure someone will point this out but they are not so easy to find in the Memphis area unless I special order one. With the grip safety all I need to do is remove my thumb from the grip as I holster and the grip safety will disengage. Excellent safety feature IMO. Thumb discipline with this pistol along with trigger finger disciple makes me feel much better. Thanks to all of you . TGO Is the shiznit.
  24. Cool ! Thanks again. I went to Top Brass in Millington and checked out a G19. I didn't like the way it felt. The M&P is my choice.
  25. It was a pleasure to meet with you today . A special thank you to eapking for bringing his M&P for me to shoot, in respose to my glock thread. I think , no I'm sure one of those will be my carry gun. eap, how did your daughter do on the range?
