From a sellers perspective I have sold 3 guns via gb and sold each for more than I thought I'd get. One was a Taurus 9mm and I got $150 dollars more than the best offer my local shop offered in trade thanks to some last minute bidding. If a bid is made within the last 15 minutes the clock is then reset to 15 minutes to allow more bids. I know that a local shop that takes a gun on trade and then sell it at a profit. However, thanks to gb.com, the buyer got a good deal and I (the seller) made a good deal. Just my:2cents: YMMV.

Being the same age you are I can understand. Optics is a whole new ball of wax that I have not really looked in to. I have looked a little and was surprised that I will spend $600 (or more) on a scope. Having said that I don't mind because in life you get what you pay for.

I have decided to buy a SR556 after the New Year when I have saved the money and (hopefully) the price will drop. I was wondering how people that already own the rifle feel after buying one. Any personal range reports, problems, customer service issues would also be welcome information. Thanks!

Wow! $400 to $750 for an AR. Makes $1400 for a Ruger SR556 seem way high.

The class was great. Of course my bright blue pants made quite the fashion statement though I'm not so sure if it's a good one. It was my second time thru this course and I really enjoyed it. I found out that a gun will not fire more than once without a magazine installed:blush:. I would recommend this course to anyone that has a HCP.

My condolences on your loss. In July 08 I had to put my dog down. She was 15.5 years old and while it sucked it was the best for her. I did cry like a baby and swore I'd never get another pooch. It took a year but we adopted a mutt from the pound. Dogs are cool and life is better with one. I hope your grief is assuaged quickly.
