Remember the documents that proved GW lied about his National Guard service? Our unbiased media (ie Dan Rather) reported that very quickly and professionally. Never mind the documents in question were created MS Word. Well put.

Now wait one minute...if any of this held a grain of truth the media would have investigated and ferreted out the truth. Unless the media is biased and in the tank for Obama....nah, that can't be true.

The above falls falls into the category of calling things as they are. You want to call a Tennessee HCP a ccw or a ccp fine- but you're wrong. Want to call a magazine a clip (or a bologna sandwich) fine- but you'd be wrong. I don't know where I'm going with my "rant" but I feel better having done so.

Reminds me of the story of the guy that got a ticket for speeding by a photo cop (in another state). With the ticket came a photo of his car time stamped with his speed on it. He sent in a picture of $50 in the mail. The police sent him a picture of handcuffs. No sure if it's a true story but it is good for a laugh.

In July of this year I had to have my dog put to sleep. We had her for 15 years and I am not ashamed to say that as the Vet depressed the plunger, I cried like a little boy. I am sure she is up in heaven giving chase to birds and cats, stealing brisket from a smoker and waiting for me to join her. Sorry for your loss.

At the risk of sounding like a dumba$$...what's an HGP?

I had a long post then I deleted it by mistake so I'll try it again! I am a novice so my two cents may be worth that...or less. Training is a must. If you own a gun you have to know how to use it. After I got my HCP and Glock 26 I went to the range and killed some paper and thought "I'm not too bad". After I took an advanced hand gun class I thought, "I dont know sh*t". Shooting elbow over holster spooked me at first because I never shot that way. I carry for personal protection and my training is geared that way. Practicing may not be such a good thing. A guy on this forum has a signature that says, "Practice does not make perfect, it make permanent". Never a more true statement IMHO. Getting advice from others at the range my not be the best thing either...who knows if they are doing correctly? I have been to 3 classes and am going to Critical Incident Strategies in the spring. Before I get off my soapbox I'll just say get formal training and keep getting it regularly. Just my two cents...I will now disappear

I did serve in the USAF for 5+ years in the mid 1980's.

I would think carrying anything with a 6 inch barrel would be tough.
