Any truth to the theory that a compensated Glock is not a good choice for a (night time) self defense weapon? Because when fired the flash would/could dazzle the eyes of the shooter.

ALERT! Please do not think I'm slamming you but...if a gun is not comfortable maybe think about a different weapon and/or holster. Granted there are a many factors I don't know but apply. But I think a self defense gun ought to be comfortable. If you went somewhere and needed it but it was in the glove box that would suck.

Take this with a huge grain of salt as I don't have much experience to reference this. But I thought the instructor was great, he kept us moving but kept it "light" for the new guy(s). As far as the "overall assessment of the quality of the training" if I understand you correctly, if a sweating, heart pounding, fist flying, leg kicking workout is what you're after than I think it is it.

Does anyone have any experience using a KCI magazine with a Glock? What I was wondering are they a suitable subsitute or do they cause problems? Thanks.

Might be a smart idea to condition yourself prior but I would not worry that much about it. The instructor said to do what I can and not to push myself too hard. I do run/jog/shuffle ~15 miles per week and I thought I'd be able to keep up but I did have to slow it down and even stop at times. Looking around I was not the only one! My advice: just come in and do it...if I can, anyone can. I plan to be at the JCC on Thursday.

I am not sure of the price...I forgot to ask...but another poster said $109 per month plus a fee for gloves or wraps. And, yes, there were large guys/gal there. You would not stick out.

I was the guy sweating and looking as is if I was about to pass out! I was the uncoordinated bald guy wearing the white tee shirt. I did see you, hope you give it a shot. All in all a good workout and, once learned, a good skill to have imho.

I went to the intro class today in Franklin and I'll tell you what: I got my a$$ kicked. The hour long class wore me out. But I plan to keep doing it:screwy:. I plan to go to the class on Thursday and see which is the better drive. I come in from the east (Wilson County) and today the drive on I65 south sucked. Anyone else make it to the into class? I'd like to meet a fellow TGOer. Maybe work out a secret sign, like sweating and look like you're about to pass out?
