HOGNUT replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
The Trophy match has been cancelled on June 19th 2010. All entry fees sent have not been deposited and will be shredded. We will still have a extended IDPA match format on this day. J. Michael Bresson VicePresident@mctsclub.com www.mctsclub.com -
you are so funny

I have the extra mags and will bring them. You will be fine in the match as it is a simple setup. This will be fun. Hope you can make it....remember the plate racks. Members only(which you are a part of correct?) shoot on it after the matches. J. Michael Bresson - Vice President MCTS VicePresident@mctsclub.com www.mctsclub.com

We are discussing logistics for bridge work being done with concrete. Hopefully all possible vendors can be contacted this week and we can have the bridge poured this weekend. If this is done, we will have a better secured facilities plus the neighbors can sleep without the clanking of the bridge at 7AM. The bridge will take a minimum of 28 days to cure.

Status update A) Bridge is out - MCTS/NTPS are discussing possible concrete bridge replacement for this upcoming weekend Access road is rutted up - Fixed C) Bay 1 is rutted up - Fixed D) Bay 2 is badly rutted up - Fixed E) Bay 3 looks pretty good - All props have been collected F) Woods walk looks to be in good shape - No work necessary G) Drainage ditches all need to be reworked - Still needs attention H) Berm trees have been cut down and most of them have been collected waiting to burn. J) Parking will be across the Wheeler house in the field. It has been mowed. All participants will have to walk across to the match unless they want to go across the low water crossing. PLEASE watch your clearance while crossing. It is not worth tearing up your ride. J. Michael Bresson - Vice President MCTS www.mctsclub.com

On this bridge, it would be a monumental mistake to not protect those beam footings with at least a load of rip-rap at each end. Robert Filidei has specified that he knows a guy with a sawmill in Camden that would give us a good price on timbers for the bridge deck if the other NTPS source doesn't come through. Probably should get prices from both to make sure we are making the best decisions. I spoke to Alan and he does not have the equipment to help on the bridge. His father in-law does has a source and he would have to ask before committing to helping on the bridge. J. Michael Bresson - Vice President MCTS www.mctsclub.com

This is GREAT to hear. Thank you for the assistance. We almost got a bobcat there this weekend also but it was already being used. It appears that we will have several people to help on the common areas and the range with the emails and verbal commitments. I will have water coolers available for everyone. I am leaving for KY now to get some generators that being loaned to us for this cleanup. J. Michael Bresson - Vice President MCTS VicePresident@mctsclub.com www.mctsclub.com

MCTS Club Trophy Match June 19, 2010
HOGNUT replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Greg, I have looked at this request and have confirmed my thoughts with the Match Director's and we are on the same agreement. As always, we promote each individual's best interest when putting on matches with rules, match style, and stage designs. We want each person to shoot as much as possible to hone in his/her skills with a firearm. In IDPA sanctioned matches, it is not allowed for a shooter to participate in mulitple divisions according to page 63 rule number 4. This reasoning is to eliminate the unfair advantage of a competitor getting a "second chance" on a match stage with another division in hopes of winning. The club trophy match on June 19th is not a sanctioned IDPA match however the same rules will also apply. I am sorry to say that this multiple entries would not be allowed for this event. I know that you are a good competitor with both the CDP and ESP. My recommendations would be to use the one you feel most proficient with for the match. Do not get me wrong, MCTS would love the extra income from excluding this rule of competing multiple times because the club could use the additional revenue(donation). If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free in contacting me at any time that is convenient. J. MCTS Club IDPA Classifier 04/03/2010
HOGNUT replied to gsbell's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
manofsteel, People watching to get a feel of the sport are always welcome, however you will be extremely disappointed by not trying it. The Classifier is an event to test your long shots, strong/weak hand shooting, and your head shots. This is the most basic style of matches to perform however one of the hardest because people let the fear factor when the buzzer sounds set in. Make sure you bring eye and hearing protection. If you forget, we have some for you to use. If you are lacking in equipment(holsters, mags, or mag holder), let me know and I will see what I can do. Hope to see you there at the range. J. Gaming....Gaming....That is funny. The first statement about Greg was true. I am glad other people notice...LOL. After this upcoming 2010 Music City Trophy match has been completed, I do plan on going back to gaming the stages. I already have my barricades, barrels, and stands setup for my personal walk-thru. I am GLAD to see everyone had a fun time at the range this past weekend. Weather was perfect for shooting. The next few upcoming matches will test your speed and accuracy. If there is anything anyone wants to incorporate in matches, please let Greg or myself know. We are always open to designs from competitors. J.
